  1. I have no issues with the performance of Waves' plugins or their installer. If you're gonna WUP, this is the time. The $240 max drops to $160 thru https://everyplugin.com/waves-upgrades. It's been worth it to me. My problem is I've already spent my allowance on the OTS Stick and those TDR/Softube specials at AudioDeluxe. And now I also have a student discount at https://www.babylonwaves.com/ the expires in 48hrs. And next month's allowance is already allocated to the expected Kontakt sale.

  2. I like the sound of Indiginus' instruments but am often frustrated by the inflexibility of the articulations. Trills and hammer-ons can be selected to follow the scale notes or semitones, which often don't cover all the options I need. For example, while in the key of G for bluegrass, I often need articulations to hit Bb, Eb, F (the minor 3rd of the I, IV, and V chords). You'd think semitones would enable me to hit those, which they do sometimes, but not if I want to slide from Bb to C, for example. There is no one key to get the notes I need. The best way I found to get what I want is to MIDI learn the Master Key and change that on the fly. This works quite well, although it takes some work to figure which key to use to get the interval I want. Also, it was a little tricky to get the mapping from CC value to Master Key. To save someone else some time, I have listed this mapping below. I hope someone finds a use for this besides me.

    CC           Master
    Values:   Key
    1-2:         C/Am
    3-8:         C#/Bbm
    9-13:       D/Bm
    14-19:    Eb/Cm
    20-24:    E/C#m
    25-30:    F/Dm
    31-35:    F#/Ebm
    36-41:    G/Em
    42-46:    Ab/Fm
    47-52:    A/F#m
    53-57:    Bb/Gm
    58-63:    B/G#m

    64-69:    Cm harm
    70-74:    C#m harm
    75-80:    Dm harm
    81-85:    Ebm harm
    86-91:    Em harm
    92-96:    Fm harm
    97-102: F#m harm
    103-107: Gm harm
    108-113: Abm harm
    114-118: Am harm
    119-124: Bbm harm
    125-127: Bm harm

Those variable slides are great and something my current nylon libraries don't do.

FYI, AmpleSound guitars have a variable slide based on the velocity of the destination note. However, the fret noise during slides seem a little too loud to me and cannot be adjusted.

  4. This one certainly passes as a classical guitar. But the slide fret noise seem overly loud (a common problem with other VIs, too). The attack seems overly bright (it sounds like the player is always using a rest stroke). Are there hammer-ons/pull-offs? They sound like just short slides (which sound different). This could be a big omission. If you're looking for something more authentic you'll have to wait for a summer sale and get AmpleSound or OrangeTree. IMHO those are still the best ones out there right now.

  6. Hmmm, back when I was auditioning all my piano samples I wrote down that this one had some broken hammers and black-listed it. I think that means there was too much hammer noise on some samples. Doesn't anyone else hear these? Unfortunately I didn't write down which notes were the problems.

    Have fun!

Thanks, but that sounds like a really convoluted workflow (nyuk, nyuk). I found it easier to just send an impulse thru the reverb and save the output as a *.wav file. It's OK for a few IR's but Waves comes with 1000's. A script is the only way to do that effectively and the only one I know of (wir2wav from github doesn't appear to work on the new files). Thus my request if anyone knows of an alternative converter.

Enhance the Sound of your Recordings and Mixes with Anthology XII.

    Upgrades as low as $29!

And the website says "Save over 60% on the most comprehensive plug-ins collection for mixing & mastering".

But I think the website is having difficulties right now because it's not recognizing my existing products that would be eligible for a discount. Yesterday my price was $299 but today I just see the full sale price of $599.

is anybody buying enough 8DIO stuff to make a product downloader worthwhile ?

It takes me too much work to get realistic sounds out of 8DIO libraries. Lots of articulations, but hard to utilize. Maybe it's just me...
