  1. ROFL! This thing is truly modeled after a vintage piece of gear. The broken one.
  2. I wanted to get their Engl amps so much, especially the E765 RT, thinking it would be my one and only go-to amp-sim. Simply because I like the real amp a lot. Well, the plugin version quickly became a huge disappointment. I almost never open it and surely never use it in projects. Not sure why. It just sounds and feels wrong. Hope this one is better, but definitely not willing to pay the intro price.
  3. Transparent doesn't always mean better. Also turning knobs relatively high or low is typical for analog gear. Sometimes to sound good you have to go to extremes on some mixers. If you like the sound, unusually high numbers are OK.
  4. Punk bass, perfectly tuned, for $80?
  5. Now we are talking! Got it immediately.
  6. I'm tempted to buy it with their split payment offer, $50 per month in 4 months. Please, talk me out of this!!!
  7. There is such thing as Marshall Code amp. All gear emulations are developed by Softube. I played it a few times. IME, Softube amp sims are no go. YMMV.
  8. No, not yet. Just payed for 1177, though. Why?
  9. Looking forward for your comparison. Overloud stuff is really good. I regret missing the sale on the EQ84. Gotta keep an eye on their plugins and sales.
  10. Instant buy this time. Haven't even demoed it. I know it's good.
  11. If we were talking about the real amp, I'd say it's sounds great for metal and is good enough for everything else. But in the virtual environment it's just another plugin capable of nice hi-gain tones and some clean and crunch sounds as well. Not better or worse than other plugins. FWIW, you can buy Diezel Herbert amp model for ReValver for only $7.99.
  12. iLok dongle is required https://drumforge.com/pages/getting-started-with-drumforge-sampler
  13. Oh, c'mon! They talk about hybrid modelling roughly as good as a (huge) number of samples in GB. Synthedit is a no go for me, though.
  14. I buy TH-U rigs once a month or two. Not too challenging for my wallet. There are quite a few gems in both amp and cabinet profiles. Although I prefer Overloud's libraries, some libs by Choptones are definitely must-haves. This particular library stirs no interest in me because I've already bought a set of Ecstasy knock-off profiles and because there is a Bogner Ecstasy model in the latest TH-U version.
  15. Add fancy studio booking, famous engineers' fee and even the full price will seem like non-existent.
  16. Silver version used to be free a while ago. Then Magix pulled it off. Now it's available again.
  17. A few years ago you could buy all IK products for roughly $300. $250 for just a reverb? OK, not an average reverb, but room heard on long outdated records for this price? I wonder how many copies they will sell for this price throughout the year.

    Waves OVox

This is the first time when having WUPed collection has paid off. At least for me.
  19. This is their point, I believe. Those who can easily shell out any amount of cash buy whatever they need right away, and those who can't afford high costs of ownership still get a chance to grab a fine product, but they must carpe diem.
  20. Bought it before the survey email arrived. Well, it's an interesting shaping tool. Doesn't respond to tweaking like other tape plugins. You can even correct the sound image with it, like depth, instrument balance, or just enhance the mix a tiny bit. The overall impact is subtle, but noticeable.
  21. You: - How do you play the guitar? PA: - We either strum with the right hand, or fret with the left hand. But not both. You: - OK! How do you record songs? PA: - We either record instruments, or vocals. But not both. You: - Hmmm... How do you watch movies? PA: - We either open our eyes or ears. But not both.
  22. It's not that I need another virtual piano, but there's always a chance to miss a sale on some outstanding gems. Any recommendations on Sampletekk?
  23. Too bad they have pulled off the Budda pedals bundle.
