  1. Insane. I got on the train from work, thought "well let me check if there's something new from Sonokinetic". The freebie just opened up a couple of minutes before. By the time I got home it was gone. Luckily I didn't wait untill then and registered on the trainride home.

  2. I have tried to give it a go and got some, well eh, results? Most of my experience was me yelling at my (now ex) girlfriend why the button they clicked in the tutorial is not where they say it is.

Somehow the concept of nodes goes over my head. I do get the logic when I watch a tutorial. "Well off course I have to plug a gradient node into the background node with a diffuser node in between and mix the colours in a node to get spots, duh".  But I can NEVER come up with these things myself. Same goes for Davince Resolve Fusion page. I get around with cut and edit and basic effects, no problem. But Fusion, that thing and its nodes scares me.

  3. I think this structure is fine. You could setup a mailaddress or server space or whatever for all the entries. Nobody else can hear the enties. There is no promotion involved for Spitfire's own products or for the composers/producers. You have no way of gauging the competition to see if you have to step up your game. Etc.

Or...you could just post it on socials. I get the hestitation from people, especially since you have to add video. But I think it's a fun idea.

This key operative you used is matched...the vast majority of the sales were THE SAME as every other sale...
There were a few exceptions...but Black Friday is supposed to be the time for "THE SALE"...so it was
    pretty lack-luster in that regards...

In that case, yes, you are right. There was hardly anything that exceeded previous sales. But this time I had the financial means haha 😅

  5. I don't really agree with the sales not being that great. For me personally that is. I managed to get through almost my entire wishlist, with only Kickzilla left which wasn't on sale and Sonible Smart EQ3 which is fairly new and I didn't excepted to get a great discount. Sure, they were not totally amazing, but they all matched or surpassed previous sales.

    I'm typing this on a 12th Gen i9-12900k based DAW.   😉

Ah yes I believe the chip itself is available, just not in that particular part picker. Shows my level of expertise. Anyway, a similar setup but with a 12 gen (and diffirent mobo etc) should work then?

When it comes to low latency audio, the 11900k is a performance step backward (vs the 10th Gen 10900k).

The newest 12900k (12th Gen) smokes them both.

Thanks for the heads-up. I don't think the 12th gen is available at this moment. But maybe soon. They aren't even that much more expensive I see.

And rest of the setup? Would it work? No bottlenecks?

  8. I want to upgrade, keep my old PC as a sort of media centre / everyday worksation and buy a new PC. I can pick the parts and some company will assemble everything. They have a pretty nice PC builder page where you can't really mess it up (https://www.alternate.nl/Pc-builder#!/components).

Now I have no clue as to what goes well together or that there will be potential problems. So here is my pick. I'm building a pretty futureproof system I think. It will be used for music production and some slight video editting. Regarding the videocard, I'm just getting what is possible. I don't need a 3090, so anything decent in the 100-200 price range is fine. Nothing fancy.

So here it is, some advice will be highly appreciated. Or just confirmation that this will work.

    Intel® Core i9-11900K, 3,5 GHz (5,3 GHz Turbo Boost) socket 1200 processor € 529,00

GIGABYTE AORUS Z590 ELITE AX, socket 1200 moederbord € 179,00

    Noctua NH-D15 cpu-koeler € 99,90

    Kingston FURY 64 GB DDR4-3200 Kit werkgeheugen € 269,00

GIGABYTE GeForce GT 1030 Low Profile D4 2G grafische kaart € 104,90 // Or whatever is possible which won't cost the same as my processor.

SAMSUNG 980 PRO, 2 TB SSD € 239,00 // Main Windows/VST drive. I know it is better to keep Windows seperate, but I'm not that 'technical'. I will definitely mess that up.

SAMSUNG 870 QVO, 4 TB SSD € 249,00 // Sample library data drive

Seagate Exos X16 16 TB Harde schijf € 299,00 // Overall data storage

    Fractal Design Define R6 tower-behuizing € 139,90

Fractal Design Ion Gold 850W voeding € 84,90

    Microsoft Windows 11 Pro software € 139,00

    Noctua NF-A12x25 PWM case fan € 29,99

    Totaal € 2.362,59

The demo was underwhelming.  And it contains just one patch (which sounds like a gazillion other synths). So what's all the hype about?

At first I thought that it sounded awesome, that was in the Spirtfire clip. But I just wachted Guy Michelmore and I have to say I agree with you. It sounds nice, but not at all super mega hyper massive. I think this saves me €350.

  10. Well, If I'm not mistaken they didn't do a wishlist sale last year. So jokes on them. On the point, I did have a random Spitfire product on my BF list depending on the usefulness of the free product. But the only thing I really want and don't already have is that Hainbach thing for 39. So I might just pass up this years sale.
