  1. In this case it wasn't a huge youtuber but big enough that he might have got an NFR license? But, then he uses Kontakt Portable which is, as far as I know, not a real product of NI and specifically designed to be used with pirated libraries. You can't just load them up in your regular Player. Also, it was not a product review or something, he just used a tiny portion of it in a beat. So my bet is on piracy. Anyway, to me it was just funny but also a sign of the times maybe that someone 'openly' uses pirated software and nobody seems to bat an eye.
  2. I thought I made had some reply which was ontopic, couldn't find it. Turns out this forum saves your drafts, so I have it back again. But I'm not going to post it, that ship has sailed. What I do want to mention is that I have gone 100% legit. But sometimes you watch some big youtuber do a tutorial and the use Kontakt Portable with some expensive library like Strevoz BALKAN Ethnic Orchestra. Well, you KNOW that's pirated. I mean, I sorta get it? I would like to have Project SAM Lumina, but even discounted it is a bit too much. But in the end piracy is not worth the hassle for me. The same way I stopped using Usenet for my movies and series and I got a couple of streaming services. I'm Dutch and I can confirm this. Piracy just wasn't worth it after that. Funny thing, when you pirated a DVD with some program (DVDripper?, I don't know), the pirate warning was a seperate thing in the DVD structure and removable.
  3. Hmmm, "buy know, it will never be available again...until we decide otherwise a couple of months later" would have been a more honest slogan a while ago. I thought they retired a couple of those because they were not up to Spitfire standards anymore. Or am I remembering another Spitifre Audio?
  4. Not sure if it's a pricing error, but some products (like Colours: Orchestrator) are more than 50% off.
  5. Right, I did that AND I still had Super Audio Cart in my cart, that gave me an offer for InSIDious. So it could be worth to trial and error different products as the offer seems related to what you have in your cart.
  6. Worth the wait. There's not much I'm really interested in, but the Super Audio Cart has my attention. And the SNESVerb for $4, because why not at that price. You can't have enough reverbs.
  7. I've been trying to get in touch with UPS from friday until now. There is no response. They left my package at my doorstep while I didn't give them permission to do so, They made a delivery photo where the conviently didn't show how they damaged the whole box. So I dropped my complaint to Thomann, and gave UPS a last change te respond before I take it out of the DM's and into the public domain. The Edge seems fine at first glance, but I will have tot test it to be sure. Really, f%$#k UPS.
  8. That was the case for me too. But when you google it, you can get to the right website.
  9. I enrolled. You have to enroll today and the course expires 31 july. Knowing my previous academic experience, the 6x2 hours of study time will be crammed into 1 session starting July 30th 4AM.
  10. Great fun, I decided to dust off the Launch Control XL for some live arranging. So less live playing, more button pushing. More techno-y vibe with a lot of drums (hence the better possibility to arrange live), some drone synths and a nice chord progression if I may say so myself. The way the bass (Subsequent 37) interacted with the song was truly something. Enjoy and let me know what you think!
  11. Well, update time. I was supposed to get my Edge today. Just in time to create a jam video this weekend. I was REALLY looking forward to it...but as usual UPS f$#@s everything up. I might be wrong, but the last 4 shipments were messed up. Too late, saying they were at my door but not being anywhere near, delivering at my door while I clearly stated I didn't want that, saying they are going to deliver but in reality the shipment is still in ANOTHER COUNTRY. Ok ok Germany is right around the corner, I'm there in an hour. But still. Launched my complaint already on Twitter, hopefully they will respond, but I'm not counting on getting it this weekend. Which will be a problem next week when not at home. And of course I can't change the delivery date because I can't create an account because their website has groundhog day syndrome or something. I'm at the point of not ordering anything from stores which ship with UPS. Rant over 😡😡
  12. I like the Delay, Filter and Saturator. Haven't really tried the rest. Be aware, I'm a Moog fanboy and very biased.
  13. Those are indeed strange offerings, where the sale price is higher than the regular price.
  14. Yes, and the codes don't work on this plugin unfortunately. I'm not spending my Forever-29 on another channelstrip I won't use. I'm not that big on channelstrips. And I have plenty to choose from already.
  15. I'm mentally saving this for when I have/want to move my samples folder. Ableton doesn't like it when you do that. For now, my solution was to only move my full Kontakt libraries to a different drive. I don't use them that often so it's basically your solution of prioritizing stuff you use more regurlarly. So my main take-away from this is that moving Kontakt Player libraries is very easy, moving full Kontakt libraries is also very easy and moving my samples will be very easy using your simlink method.
  16. FYI, none of the Fire series plugins are included in the sale.
  17. I've been eyeballing that one too, in case a Prophet 6 becomes a no-go. I should deepdive in the differences. Still, both very expensive and a long term wishlist thing. My point was, I haven't seen much or any negative consequences regarding that particular acquisition. Is this the same? Maybe, maybe not, I don't know. I'm just keeping my torch and pickfork nicely tucked away for the moment.
  18. I get you, you probably know you can set the default installation path, but indeed it is not possible ot change it per product. Or you will have to change the default path every time and install them one by one. But I get it though, how many people are spreading out the installation across multiple locations?
  19. Rob Papen uses offline authorization. You do however have to generate the necessary keys in your account (online). Spectrasonics works the same as far as I know. I will check when I'm at home, I keep a list of VST's and one of the things I keep track of is the authorization method.
  20. Besides Native Access having trouble with installing something like Komplete in 1 go, I have little issues. The one gripe I have is that I delete the VST2's and it keeps saying I need to repair. That's a PITA. I'm going to move my Kontakt Libraries to a different drive and tested this out with a couple of libraties. Worked very smoothly. I could do a mass action in NA were I can update the path for the moved products. Just move everything to a new drive, open NA, it says which are missing, select 'Relocate All' and you're good to go. My logic says it shouldn't affect any projects which use those libraries, am I correct?
  21. Oh btw, not quite the same but still worthy of attention, what did the acquisition of Sequential by Focusrite / Novation do 2 years ago? Besides making it damn near impossibly to purchase a Prophet 6 desktop 😅
  22. Nope, just did it. And I made the happy little mistake of putting it on a hihat track instead of a synth track. Immediate lovely shiny top-end ambience. Didn't even change the preset, if there was any selected. This will be very useful!
  23. Checked and no problems here. So far. Loads just fine, works, pretty fast even. I might actually use this 😜
  24. I agree, that makes a lot of sense. The same with the MPC sound packs from Air. Knowing that they also have AKAI, it makes sense. Seems they are set out to combine products/brands that complement eachother. And not just to get a bigger marketshare (Soundwide...). As an owner of several Moog products (software and hardware) I'm curious where this will go. But I'm not afraid for the future.
  25. It doesn't. The guy behind it (Steve Duda) stated that his products will never go on sale.
