  1. I just noticed that the clip gain envelope doesn't have any impact on the audio volume level.  I can draw the envelope but the audio level doesn't change.  I try the track's gain and it's doesn't change the level either.  If I do extreme boost or cut of a clip section then the volume do change,  but doesn't follow the section defined by the envelope nodes.  strange.

    wonder if I inadvertently switched something  on/off.

    If anyone has any suggestion let me know.  I'm thinking of doing a re-install but hope that it can be resolved.

    I'm on the version (?) (just before this 2019.11 stable version).  It was working fine and I haven't made any change.

  2. thanks for responding, but my question is trying to see if there is a readout somewhere that has a clip end's time.  Doesn't seem so.

    As for CTRL+D, it's useful for loop or clip that starts and ends at a 'note' interval, else the it would be off.  I just use CTRL+click drag to where I want.

    You don't need the timeline to set an "Aim Assist" or Now time.

    where would you click then? what if you don't have an empty space where you want to place your cursor to set now time?  click on a clip will select that clip also and if you are not careful with a slight movement you will move the clip inadvertently.

    I like the new marker feature, but just want to be able to click through it or anywhere on the timeline.  It just doesn't make sense that you cannot at a certain spot.

  4. this -||- annoys me as well.  I use the time line  to go where I want the now time or play at but around the beginning and end of a clip or at a marker I no long can.  Sure I can deselect, but what if I'm working on that clip and want to play at its start?  I found that the the tiny area below the 'ruler' won't block but you must have steady hand to hover in that area.

    Please have the option to turn it off.  thx

  5. Left Click Rewinds to Clip Start in Lanes’ option  -- this feature doesn't work

    it won't go to the beginning of a clip during play back.  There's a vertical line momentarily but now just chugging along

    What i like to do also is to audit the various takes or clips from its beginning, so I though this feature will do that.

  6. I inserted an audio FX to a clip, but the FX has no effect on the clip.  The plug-in UI is fine but audio was not 'effected'.  This is with the latest CW version.

    The plug-in works fine if inserted to the track.  Wonder if there is a new default that has to be switched.  thx

    Yes, info is here. "Note: When you enable Exclusive Solo mode, currently soloed tracks and buses are not affected until the next time you solo a track or bus."

    That does it.

    Interestingly if I shift-solo on a track the track solo icon/button is the 'exclusive solo' but behaves like normal mode.  Not sure what that icon mean on a track.

  8. Is there any 'un-planned' (since it works so well this release 😁) for off-line update?  You can download and install the software, but only need to get online for authorization?

    My studio has barely a blip of a signal, probably just enough for auth.  Always have to disconnect and take the computer to a location with signal for hotspot.

    Hmm, I might start doing this. A better solution might be to just go into the Plug-In Manager and exclude the VST2's that have corresponding VST3's.

    More tedious, but perhaps more bulletproof. I have to do it anyway for some plug-ins that don't follow the spec and show up twice in the Browser.

    Isn't in Setting vst  has the option to hide vst2 if there's like vst3?  However even if you set this, Fabfilter still show both vst2, vst3

  10. I have old projects with midi drums programmed/mapped loosely to GM, I want to use my current vst drums (BFD3) which has its own mapping.  What I have to do is manual move each note to the new note.  I have worked out the exact note for note translation, but wonder if there is a script or better way to do this.

  11. It's clear to me that Lens and Screenset each has its own place:

    Lens=customize your layout/menu/...

    Screenset=windows position/layout

    Now I still believe that if you make Screenset global (saved screenset can be called up within any project) and working correctly (retain position and size), we would have the best of both worlds.  No need to decide Lens vs Screenset.

  12. After playing with all perceivable  combination of things, I think that not able to retain the multi-dock's size is a bug.  There are a couple work-around however.

    If the bakers ever re-visit this Lens-Screen functions, it would be good to make screen set global, or put it under Lens.  Have a simple 'save Screen' function instead of this 'copy to screenset ..."

    If you read this how about a simple change so alt-2, ... alt-n, (changing view) triggers double-click (full screen) of the docked tab instead of currently (seems like) single-click (half screen). Or better yet, single-click opens full screen.  This issue only occurs when going from Track view to anything in the dock bar.

    In Windows right click on Start, then System and search for dock on and deactivate. After saving your screensets and lenses you can activate it again.

    Works for Win 10 German Version! I hope it's the same for the english people...

    Bassman.

    In English version there's no 'Dock on'.   I think it's called 'Ease of access center', there's an option to turn off auto snap when moving a window to the edges.  I did this and it didn't make a different in CbB.  To me the various windows options are for managing multiple Windows.  The issue here is within that 'workspace' within CbB.

    But once they are minimized they are easy to make full screen again.  Here the trick ( Micv) A single click on the docking tab will open  dock views half screen, but a double click will make it full screen.  I still have to use the minimize arrows to get rid of it but I'm sure there is a keyboard shortcut.

    Double click works, it opens full screen.

    I've been using a lot of keyboard shortcut (as much as I can remember, which is not much these days!).  Guess I need to use the mouse click instead of alt-2, alt-3, ...

    Try to deactivate Windows automatic "Dock on", before you resize your windows!

    Lenses and Screensets doesn't remember "Dock on" (nor fullscreen), you have to manually resize the windows to the corner or the upper/lower edge.

    Bassman.

    @Heinz,

    I can certainly "Rock-on" 🙂 but how do you deactivate "Dock on"?

    I am wondering if you desetect "Windows layout" for the lens that you use.

    Then arrange the windows how you want them to be. Then lock the screenset(s).  ( CTRL + SHIFT + L )

    did those many times, Screenset locks has no affect.

    After resizing I can flip any view in the dock bar fine, but when go to Track view and the go to other view it's reverted back to half screen.  When it decides to work, it will work fine until I save, exit.  The next time I open the project will be half screen again.  btw the project is now always open in a windowed box (not maximized).

  18. Lens and Screen set always confused me. I do understand the concept but I think that there are a few quirks.

    For example I simply want to do the below and have never been able to do it consistently:

    For a single screen, I just want to use the keyboard short-cut [alt-something] to flip between the screen.  I want the console, midi, ... to line up where the track view is thus not I can still use the control bar, in my case I set at the top.   It's either docked or open but half screen with the track view, or maximized but cover the control bar.

    So I float the dock and drag sizing the screen to where I want but when I switch screen, it almost always reverted back to dock or half-screen.  Then sometimes it sticks.

    Would Lens or Screen (or both) helps me do the above?  Or perhaps a new option of 'fit to window' to allow the above.
