interesting - I'd always assumed it was the other way around.  Cubase has always been popular in Europe since the Atari days but I always thought that Protools had a larger user base ?   A quick google gave me very little information.

Most believe that, because Pro Tool is the supposed be the "Industry Standard"...but as you said, in Europe
Cubase has a MUCH larger install base than Pro Tools, and here in the states just about EVERY Studio
has BOTH, which gives Cubase the edge in "Pro" installations...and yes, the info is hard to find.  I did an
in depth study on this a few years back and found Cubase had the larger base.  Again, that was a few years
ago, and I'm sure, based on just "Features" that probably hasn't changed....

I agree with you about impressions :)

This thing was the only tape thing which did some magically un-harsh annoying parts in heavy guitar sound for me.

I was just switching between different types of tapes not touching even settings and bum... harshness disappeared...

With other tape sims I tried lot of time used and still was something I needed to fight with EQ.

But true, to use anything from Acustica some mental switching in workflow is needed and... increasing buffers significantly...

So anybody who never use it should definitely try demo to verify if it is for her/him.

Larry, I am curious if Acustica ever consider in future doing unison version of their plugs? ;)

Are you speaking of "Unison" for UAD?  That would be incredible, but I seriously doubt it Piotr....

I have always heard good things about this. Can you compare to IK's Tape machines?

And CPU, compared to IK's Tape machines?

and this Aquarius thingy, is it required?, if so is it very intrusive?

I really shouldn't even be thinking about this with the exchange rate the way it is, it will cost 190 - 200AUD, but like I say I have heard good things about this in the past.

It is FAR better than the IK Tape Machines IMO.  I all 4 of them...and it's far better.
That was part of my A/B comparison test. It's heavier on the CPU, but usable.  The
interface is not very intuitive out of the gate, but once you get the gist of what's going
on, it's a really nice (visually) interface.

Aquarius is very easy to use.  It takes some getting use to, but very
    unintrusive.

At the BARE MINIMUM, get Aquarius to get the FREE ones!  You won't regret it.  They are
    better than most paid Plugins...seriously!

Aw that part sounded so sweet.
Glad you found something you love, I mean, since we are all behind close doors.
I don't think I have ever read you giving high praise to a plugin ;)

It's rare...that's for sure...and most of the time, even if I like something, I tell myself...
I have lot's of those, and really can't afford it, to talk myself out of it.  Not
this time.  I was seriously VERY impressed!  I really like the IK Tape sims...but this
is WAY beyond those!  I did a lot of A/B'ing with my tape sims...no comparison IMO!

  6. Following the recent addition of the critically acclaimed HOLLYWOOD BACKUP SINGERS to the #1 subscription service for music creators — COMPOSERCLOUD — today we added CYCLOP, one of our favorite BASS SYNTHS, exclusively for COMPOSERCLOUD members — for FREE!

"We are continually evaluating and adding new content to ComposerCloud", says EastWest Producer Doug Rogers, "and although we have most genres covered with 'state of the art' solutions, we always felt we needed a great BASS SYNTH, and CYCLOP is one of our favorites."

Check out the TRAILER and WALKTHROUGH to see how — CYCLOP — can beef up your bottom end.

    ENJOY!

    Your EASTWEST team

    Yeah, I got mine a  while ago - it's an upgrade price  32c -> 32c but don't know if it's personalized.

I don't suppose upgrading  regular MixBus to 6 for $19 would automatically update the engine of 32c to 6?-)  Wouldn't that be nice!  I haven't purchased either of them yet but need want to.

I don't have 32C, I have the standard, and haven't upgraded yet either....

What don't you like about the model?

Probably what many don't like is the paid .5 Releases...
I don't know of any other DAW that charges for that...
    I, personally, don't mind...it's small enough pricewise,
and you really don't have to do .5 releases...just wait
the 2 year cycle till the next release.  I'll only do the
.5 release if it's on sale....
