  1. What a delightful, fun, complex and interesting piece.  I love it when strict genre lines are crossed.  Also liked the guitar work on this!  Very well done indeed!

  2. You have been coming out with some very impressive pieces Bjorn!  Everything fits together very well and you have captured that classical Spanish guitar feel.  You make the VST sound great.

  3. Hi Rik.  Every once in a while one has to go back in the alley and dust off some of the old stuff and try to tweak it a bit.  Thanks for the kind words!!

Hi Daryl.   I am adequate and I hope that you are well!  I think that I posted this song back ~10+ years ago on the old CW forum.  Thanks very much for listening and for the kind comments!!

  4. This song asks the question - What happens when truth doesn't matter anymore?  It was precipitated by my creeping realization that, not just the USA is in chaos but it it appears that the whole world has gone "looney toons".  Unfortunately, I have no answer for this question?

In his recent post Lynn stated that he had a difficult time in determining the genre to use given the categories offered by SoundClick.  I too am having that problem with this song.  Is it alternative, indie  -- it is not really Blues?  I don't know.  So, I am just leaving in the Blues category.

After multiple takes, I am not satisfied with the  vocal but I am still fighting with allergies.  However, the peak of the season should be coming in a few weeks (hopefully).  It will be a while before I can address the vocal track but I would appreciate any tips, suggestions, crit's, comments, etc.   Any good recipes for Caldo Gallego soup would also be appreciated (I jest of course),

    Thanks!

  5. I agree with the comments above.  This song certainly emotes suffering.  I hope that you are managing to cope.  The guitar work is excellent and really expresses strong emotions.  I guess this is what the old Blues guys meant when they say their guitar would talk for them.  As I get older I am losing a lot of loved ones and long time friends.  Time does help (somewhat) but I try to concentrate on the good memories vs. the loss.

  6. An absolute treat to view and hear this!  The visuals are great and the music perfect for the video and theme.  As I have noticed in some of your other posts, you are an excellent photographer.  The shots of the puffins are really very nice indeed!  Your landscape photos show this land to be stark and very beautiful.  It must have an interesting history.  Did the sun ever come out while you were there?

  7. Hi Nigel.  Thanks very much for the very kind words.  They are much appreciated.

Hey Lynn.  Thanks very much for the kind comments.  I appreciate that you caught that the song was not sad but kind-of happy.  Who said that the Blues can't be happy (a rhetorical question).😉  I just responded to your last post "It's Not The Same".  Excellent work!  Thanks again for the review!

Hi Makke.  Thanks very much for listening and for the kind words.  I very much enjoyed listening to your recent post.

  8. A beautiful tribute to a friend!  Having recently said  a permanent goodbye to a couple of long time friends, this lovely song certainly brings up some emotions.   A loss is always hard but keeping the good memories helps!

  9. I don't know how I missed this one but I'm glad that it came back up to where I could find it.  Wow, this is a great song!  The lyrics really tell a story.  They sound a bit cathartic?  Your vocals present the lyrics very well.  Your guitar work really complements the story.  The guitars and your arrangement  set an edge that helps situate the story.  Excellent work my friend!!

  10. Hi KSband.  Thanks very much for listening and taking the time to respond.  Much appreciated!!

Hey Jesse.  Back to my favourite style  -- the electric Blues with a "chunka chunka" rhythm.  Thanks very much for the kind comments pal!!

Hi FreeEarCandy.  The Blues is the Blues and I love the live Blues best.  That is why I like the old early electric style the best.  Ya, production -wise some of recordings of live shows (even studio recordings) were awful and playing was -- hmmm,  --- not always stellar but oh  (!!) the feeling and humanity of the performance was outstanding.  Thanks for listening and for the kind words.

  11. Beautiful song and some excellent playing.  I must also echo the comments above -- you have given each instrument plenty of room to be heard.

    Very cool indeed!!!!

  12. One more perfect well written professional performance, production, lyrics, instrumentation, etc., etc.  after the other.  Love the ending!  What a treat!  How do you do it!!???

  13. Please take my comments as only suggestions.  It is your song  - you know what you were looking for and besides it is a good rock song as is. In agreement with some of the comments above, I had a wee bit of trouble hearing the bass guitar.  Bringing this up a bit more would add more of a bottom to the song.  The guitars (good playing BTW) might add to the edgy-ness, with a bit more of a driven bass sound.  If that is not what you were looking for --- then I was wrong.  I enjoyed the listen!!

  14. Hi Noynekker.  Thanks for taking the time to comment.  Yes, it is a bit thick and "in your face."  That probably resulted from working with the tracks from the old file.  They were recorded a little bit hot!  Thanks very much for the kind words.  I appreciate it!

Hi tom.  I think that I posted the original in 2010 (?).  It was pretty rough as I was very green about recording, mixing, DAWs, etc.  It is probably better (so that I can avoid embarrassment) that the updated version stands on its own.  Thanks for taking the time to listen and comment! Much appreciated!

Hi Hidden Symmetry.  Thanks for listening and for the kind comments.  I always enjoy listening to your posts!
