    Nicely done Lynn.
Well played (and programmed) across the board.
EZKeys served you well in this one, and I imagine represented a lot of work on your part.
    The flute a mellotoon patch?

    👍

Tom, thanks for taking a listen and your kind words.  EZ Keys is easy to use, and it took me about 15 minutes to arrange this part.  If I had played this, myself, it would have taken about 15 weeks.  The flute part is a sample from Dimension Pro played on my Strat through MIDIGuitar 2.

Nice job Lynn - I like your vocal tone on this one - also the harmonies.

Thank you Steve for the encouragement.  I especially appreciate your comments on the vox, which I was unsure about.

I enjoyed the song Lynn - and as always I liked your vocal. It sounds like a pretty good mix to me - plenty of clarity for all the instruments with depth.

I liked the tone of the lead guitar on the solo - sounded cool. The piano sounded quite nice as well.

Nice job on the lyrics too.

Thanks Douglas!  FYI, the lead guitar is my Strat played with an E-Bow going through S-Gear.

great song Lynn.  And (as always) done perfectly.  You could have a career as a singer if not as a producer.

David, I appreciate your encouraging words!

Nice production job as always @Lynn, we do live in troubling times with much misleading information being distributed by people who should know better.

I like this easy on the ears, even if the lyrics are hard to hear.

Wookie, thank you for your time and response!  Are the lyrics hard to hear because of their content, or because of volume?

Hello Lynn,  overall a good song. What i would rework is the kick which is a bit matchy and then the Hihat could be a bit quieter, especially in the beginning.

But as always, it's all a matter of taste.

Thanks for your good ideas, Harry.  I'll take you up on those when I remix.

  4. Hello to all my CW friends.  I hope you're all staying healthy and safe and finding some joy in your music.  I have just  finished a song based on true events, inspired by the Covid-19 virus.  It's a song about someone losing a loved one in this battle, though it offers a glimmer of hope in the end.  My friend, Roger Fife, played bass on this, but I did the rest with help for the first time from EZ Keys on the piano.  I went a little more mainstream than normal, but under the circumstances, I think it was appropriate in this case.

I hope you enjoy it and will offer suggestions and advice, as usual.  As always, thanks a million for listening and all your help.  "Days Gone By" can be found here: https://soundclick.com/r/s8ctxx

  5. I don't know which version I just listened to twice, but I like it a lot.  It does seem like your voice has a presence to it that I rarely hear, and I just love it.  All I would ask for is a louder guitar solo that stands up to the vocal a tad more, but...it's good to go as is.

  6. Bjorn, I'm really impressed by your versatility-I never know what to expect from you.  I like where this is going, and the mood you created with this piece.  Obviously, there's a lot of details to make a complete chamber piece sound real, but I'd be proud of this if it were mine.

  7. Rex, I think your voice married to this would be epic!  You have a nice base and medley of synth textures, and they can support a kick-***** bass drum and whatever else you might try.  Nice change of pace.

  8. Though I like both versions, I prefer the acoustic track.  They both have a raw, powerful sound, but you recorded the acoustic guitar so well, that it just shines.  Keep em coming!

  9. You have a very powerful voice which conveys the lyrics very well.  I think you've broken a mold here, but who's complaining?  Thanks for putting the link to your videos up for view, can't wait to check them out.  Kudos!

  10. All that stock I bought in Reynold's and Kaiser is paying off~~~  Thanks for writing this, it may not make up for the lack of face masks, but it helps.  Just, don't forget to wear them!

  11. I love it, Wookie.  Not what I expected, which is why I'm so happy with this.  Now I need to turn it up real loud and play it for the rest of the inmates here!

  12. I don't know about simple, but I like this song, and I think you named it well.  I especially like your use of reverb to give it depth and an eerie quality that intrigues me.  I don't know anybody who approaches music quite like you do, and I love it!

  13. I was lucky enough to see Martin Mull open for Bonnie Raitt when I was in college in the 70's.  Besides being enormously funny, he played jazzy guitar at the end of his set, which blew away many people.  In fact, he played with Bonnie during her encores and held his own.  I'm glad to hear you paying tribute to him through this fine song!

  14. Terrific version, John.  It evokes the Beatles while being uniquely yours.  I'm surprised more people don't experiment with backwards recordings, as easy as it is these days.  Good to hear you again!

    Four

This matches the mood I'm in today, as it's raining in Kansas City which has caused my mind to drift away along with this song.  I find it very haunting, yet uplifting, as well.  I wish the battery hadn't died in my M1 :(  Keep up the good work and stay safe, my friend!
