@Fret Flintstone. Thanks for that Studio One tip. I thought those plugins just didn't use presets. Silly me!

I put my license on a USB stick and I can install on as many computers as I want. I can work on my PC and if I need to switch to my Mac I move the USB stick from the PC to the Mac.

However unlikely it is, I can go to any studio in the world install all the Waves bundles I own and plug in my USB stick and I'm off and running.

For me that is a close to multiple-seat licenses as I need to get without paying for it.

I've always felt that I got my money's worth from WUP for all the new plugs I've gotten every year in Mercury. My only gripe is that new Abbey Road plugs come at cost (usually quite small though). I'm perfectly happy to pay my WUP.

    Amen Sir

As for 'single seat' you have the USB stick mentioned above, plus any new plugin you purchase gives you WUP for a year plus a second License, so 2 'seats'. Keep up your WUP and all your plugs will have 2 'seats'

WUP? $19 a week at the most, pffft, and you don't even have to pay it unless you want to, I've personally never seen the problem, never seen the problem with the installation and auth either, easy as, never had a issue.

Waves first plugin, Q10, 1992, still rockin' as strong as ever, how many OS changes has it gone through? how many Windows component changes has it gone through?

One thing about Waves is that it's Plugins will work no matter how old they are, because they keep supporting them, and don't just dump them.

Best support I've ever come across, I had a shop problem, emailed them on a Sunday, had a reply and fix within an hour.

But lets wait for the definitive and final word on all things Waves to turn up, shouldn't be long.

  6. Softube, Amplitube 5

I own pretty much everything, all the new stuff, Nembrini, Nueral DSP etc, all the old stuff, S Gear, Revalver, Guitar Rig, etc, and pretty much everything in between. The only thing worth mentioning that I don't own is Helix, tried it out extensively but just can't do it, it doesn't do it for me at all. Glad I tried it out because of it's cost, I usually just buy then try, hence why I have all the Neural DSP, Nembrini, Mercuriall and PA stuff (except the 2 Diesels) etc which never get used 🥴.

But its each to his own really, in my opinion there isn't an Amp Sim made that sounds any good Stand Alone, if I had to use them Stand Alone I wouldn't use any of them at all. Throw them into a Daw or VST host, add my before and after stuff, and I'm in heaven, much better than going to the storage shed and dragging out Amps and Cabs, to old for that shit, once every now and then when we get together for old times is enough for me, convenience is a more important factor for me these days .

    • Thanks 1
  7. Clarent is an excellent Amp Sim, as are most of the other later ones (earlier one aren't nothing to sneeze at either)

The Effektor are also excellent, I got everything a fair while back, it's all very useful, and with the free A360 it's nice to be able to have everything in 1 convenient package. Still not my No.1 goto, but it's there if I can't find what I want, or if I start noodling around and like something I come up with it usually stays.

Sometime referred to as the G Spot. Keep looking.

I believe there was a post on the old forums containing a picture with a folder that could help out there   (⊙_⊙;)

  9. Well, apart from the obvious, it's probably the only way they would increase market share.

To be honest it would really only be the next logical evolution,

1.Couldn't survive as a commercial product.

2.Didn't make a dent as a free product.

3.Lets try paying people to use it. (Funnily enough I doubt that would work either, but there you go).
