Same as above, but with the Zildjian Digital Vaults. Vol 1 pack to replace the SP1/SP2/ZP1 packs.

There is a BFD 3.4.1.x build in progress that will address:

    Sluggishness on start-up.

Expansion packs not being available when offline

License Manager failing to connect to the internet sometimes

Migration of user-files being broken, not copying all files, and being executed even on clean systems without prior installations.

Just wanted to give everyone an update.

  3. Anything that needs re-authing, we are of course using the new serial numbers from the new site?.

Everyone is on Win10 v1909 or later?

I'm still on 1903 and happy there, thus I haven't tried installing 3.4 as yet, all I've done is the site to site migration thing and that went without a hitch.

After I make a backup copy of my System drive and my BFD drive I 'll let Win10 update to 1909 and give it a whirl.

  4. Here is a post on Gearspace from Drew regarding some issues

    Hey everyone,
Drew from BFD here. Apologies for not getting involved here soon enough. I've been on KvR a bit, but in generally it's been a hectic week! I've been reading messages and feeding them up the chain. So here's a few highlights:

    - We never intended for BFD1 and BFD2 owners to lose access to their libraries. That's a bug we're working on fixing. BFD1 owners were supposed to get BFD Eldorado and BFD2 owners were supposed to get BFD London Sessions.
    - There are some straggler freebies that we need to deal with. Things like the rock tambourine which will be repackaged and delivered soon.
    - i've reported the contact form on the support page being broken. Messages do go through by the looks of it, but the user doesn't get any feedback on it. If in doubt, email support@bfddrums.com with your issue.
    - We hear you on 'offline' use. People are looking into that.
    - We also hear you on the annoyance of the keychain messages on OSX. People are looking into that too.
    - There will be a 3.4.1 release soon, that will fix some bugs.
    - People who have authorized everything in BFD License Manager, but BFD doesn't seem to work still, please private message me all of the details. I've not been able to reproduce that in-house but if that is a thing, we need to fix it.
    - Zildjian SP1, SP2, and ZP1 are discontinued. They were discontinued at FXpansion even before ROLI purchased us. They were re-released as the BFD Zildjian Digital Vaults. Vol 1 library. If you get in touch with support, they should be able to issue you a serial number for the updated pack. You'll be able to download that, install it, and be good to go.
    - Finally, there is a bug in the 'copy old files' functionality in the new release. This will be fixed in 3.4.1.

  5. True Iron is of course very good and well known, like Dirk would say, 'I use it on every track' but it's true I do.

True Dynamics seems to fly under a lot of peoples radar, but it can be Truely Excellent in the right place, very nice piece of gear.

Although I was far from a fan of Thermionik, never use it to be honest, I am waiting to checkout his new Amp Sim AmpCraft when it arrives.

No need for fear. BFD3.4 will support all BFD content, we just have a bug in our migration setup where people aren’t getting the Eldorado and London Sessions packs.

Have had to dust off BFD2 for those .... BFD2 kits! They have not made the journey over to BFD3 v3.4.0.24 (where they previously lived). Don't want to pay £99.99 for "London Sessions" when I already have the content. Anyone else managed it yet?

As mentioned before, the likely outcome for people with BFD(1) and or BFD2, is that they are going to give you either BFD Eldorado and or BFD London Sessions free.

    - - - - - - - - - - - -

They have stated many times on other forums that their intention is that no one will loose anything they had before this change.

So they will work any issues out, it just takes time.

  9. For the people who BFD(1) and or BFD2, and are have trouble getting that content to show up under BFD3.4, Drew had this to say . . .

We're working on getting BFD1 owners the BFD Eldorado pack, and BFD2 owners the BFD London Sessions pack - those are the modern equivalents for those libraries.

I miss out again as I already own these, purchased ages ago so as I didn't have to install BFD(1) OR BFD(2), anyway there you have it.

    BFD3 (v3.4) Update

In addition to a new website and Expansion Pack offer, there is also an update to the core BFD3 software. BFD3 (v3.4) introduces a number of under-the-hood improvements as well as an all new per-voice Envelope Shaper and a suite of high-quality effects from AIR Music Technology. The brand new Envelope Shaper is one of the most versatile sound design tools ever included with a virtual drum instrument, empowering users to further shape the transients of each individual BFD3 kit piece to taste. For almost two decades, AIR Music Technology has been creating industry-standard effects plugins covering a vast assortment of dynamic and time-based use-cases. The BFD3 now has thirteen of the most popular AIR effects built-in:

    AIR Compressor

    AIR Lo-Fi (Decimator)

    AIR Distortion

    AIR Dyn3Compressor

    AIR Economy Reverb

    AIR Expander

    AIR Maximizer

    AIR Non-Linear Reverb

    AIR Saturation Filter

    AIR Spring Reverb

    AIR Stereo Reverb

    AIR Transient

    AIR Tube Driver

Does anybody knows what has been updated in 3.4? I couldn't find any information in the website.

Well I read it somewhere, but can't find it again ATM.

There is this from Drew (x FXpansion, now inMusic) I'll paste the whole post and highlight a few relevant bits.

Okay, so here's my post. We're still firing up all the ovens and emails and what not, but:

We've kicked off a user migration process today. You will have seen an email about that from FXpansion, but we are essentially bringing everyone over to the inMusic Profile platform. You can kick this off in your FXpansion user-accounts. We're moving everyone over to bfddrums.com.

BFD1, BFD2, and BFD Eco will not be migrated to your inMusic Profile account as they have been legacy products for a long time now. We need to get all legacy software users onto the BFD3 platform now.

Everyone who needs to can upgrade to BFD3 for a super low price by entering their BFD1/BFD2/BFD Eco serial code as a promotional code at the BFD Drums website when checking out.

There is a build of BFD3.4 available which introduces a new authorization system, some new features, some fixes against 3.3, and lays the groundwork for future point releases to come. We are working on a 3.4.1 right now to address some known issues, and will address more as they are reported.

All serial registrations and downloads and authorizations are handled through the new BFD License Manager. Please don't attempt to register any serials through the inMusic Profiles page - it will not work currently.

Just proceed through the migration process to get all of your products moved over to an inMusic Profile account, and then you never need to use the fxpansion.com website for BFD products ever again.

    ------

Long-term we are designing new versions of BFD. I've assembled a small beta team at present, but I will be looking at expanding this soon. I spot a few users in this thread who may want to get involved in that.

You can expect a BFD4 in the future, but I won't commit to a timeframe. It wont be years and years though!

The new BFD home page is www.bfddrums.com
The new forum is here: https://forum.bfddrums.com/

Feel free to PM me if you need anything; posting here might not be best because I wont get a notification.

The page I can't listing what was changed that I can't find also list a number (10 - 12?) of AIR music FX that they apparently added to BFD3. (That bit made me a little sad)

Since I own everything they make I might as well add this one too.

I was thinking that as well, but seeing as I think pretty much all of it is shit, I might draw the stop line here.

    IMO/YMMV

  13. hmmmm, a free expansion pack is of no use to me, I own them all already. I can live without 3.4, I'm already 1 or 2 versions back and quite happy there, I don't have any issues.

I'm going to wait it out and see what gives, I can still download everything from the old site if needed, plus I have multiple copies of everything stored away.

inMusic not a good sign, but will have to see what happens in the future.
