I like it, Bjorn. Hypnotic and mesmerizing. Nice mix, and the vocal components are well integrated and work really well for me. For whatever reason, small parts of it gave the same vibe as certain parts of the Kingdom of Heaven soundtrack -- the vocal work near the beginning in particular.

Yeah, my first thought when I started listening to this was Beatles-esque all the way.
Enjoyed this one a lot, guys. Great song, really nice vibe, clear mix. Lyrics are quite entertaining.

I have EastWest's Stormdrum 2 and the percussion section of Albion ONE at my disposal, if I'm looking for that sort of trailer drum sound. Those would be my first choices, and they'd do everything you need.
I also own IK Multimedia Cinematic Percussion, Action Strikes, 8Dio's Epic Taiko and Epic Dhol libraries, and Drums of the Deep by Auddict. Any or all of those would do the job pretty well, also. I probably have more libraries like that, but I can't recall off the top of my head which ones.
I hear good things about Strezov's Thunder X3M. I have the freebie version they gave away last year, and its got some nice stuff in it. There is also Drums of War 1 & 2 by Cinesamples. There is a ton of other libraries out there, too. Cinematic percussion of that sort has been in vogue for a while, I think.

For me, it happens within a few minutes of opening up the GUI and playing. Doesn't seem to be tied to any specific action beyond simply playing. BB crashes 100% of the time without fail, within a minute or two of launch. I have literally never had it open longer than, say, 3 mins.
It's a common problem, happens on both Macs and PC, and the "Learn" button workaround is effective for some but not all. Another dude on the Sonivox forums came up with the idea of copying the Midi Learn file to the desktop on his Mac, and it seemed to stop the problem for him. Not sure why that would matter, but it apparently works for some Mac users.
The company acknowledged that there was an issue on their support forum, and said it would be referred to their dev team. That was three years ago. Nothing since then.

I'd be a bit wary of this particular package - the Orchestral Companion libraries have some nicely recorded samples but are quite dated in terms of interface and playability; and the Big Bang Cinematic Percussion has an issue with it's GUI that causes it to regularly crash for most folks. The GUI bug was acknowledged by Sonivox over three years ago, but was never fixed. Which is a shame -- there are some nice samples in the Big Bang Percussion. There is a workaround (enable Midi Learn Button), but it has never worked for me...

I have a spare PC that I built as a dedicated NAS server (using NAS4Free), and dropped a couple of 4 TB drives in it. I store all my archives on there. I also have a 4TB USB3 backup drive from Seagate that I put extra copies of my really essential stuff -- archives that I need to pay to access (from IK Multimedia, for example), and project backups, etc.

I did. Same deal -- mine expire July 1st, also. I think someone last week mentioned on one of the Tape Machine threads that their Jam Points had expired. It was the first I'd heard of it.

Hi folks,
I've been trying to upload a track to BandLab from within Cakewalk, but the track isn't appearing in my Library online. The mixdown and upload process appears to work, but the track itself never appears. Anyone else experiencing this?

I always had issues with Windows 7, so when the free upgrade to 10 came around a couple years ago, I jumped at it and never regretted it. I find Windows 10 to be a much better experience, and all my audio software runs better on it. That's just my anecdotal 2 cents, FWIW...

Phish was doing a concert in St Louis the other night, at the same time that the Blues were playing for the Stanley Cup in Boston. When the Blues won, Phish broke out into a rendition of the Blues official theme song "Gloria", to the delight of the St Louis fans in attendance.

I bought a set of midi cables for my PC (ones that connected to a joystick port) so that I could experiment with connecting my Yamaha keyboard to my computer. The cables came with a copy of Cakewalk Express. I believe the package was called the Midi Music Pack. That got me on the gear/software/sample library treadmill, and I've never stepped off...

It always worked really well for me. I liked using it, and the Firewire card functioned without any undue problems. I made a point of using a Firewire add-in card in my PC that featured a Texas Instruments chipset -- I recall that a lot of the issues surrounding the Mackie Firewire drivers related to chipsets from other manufacturers, which caused problems. A chipset from TI was the suggested solution, and it always worked for me. I still have the mixer, as the preamps are perfectly useable, and it's a nice piece of gear, overall.

Emu 1212M PCI - (was a huge step up from the M-Audio, especially in terms of converters -- first time I fired it up, the sounds coming from my monitors was a whole class of sound better, cleaner, more detailed, etc. Loved this card, although the drivers were twitchy)
Mackie Onyx 1220 w/Firewire Card
Roland V-Studio 700 (great control surface, great interface, if only it had been maintained with proper drivers and the integration with Sonar hadn't slowly died away)
ESI Juli@ PCIe
and now an RME Babyface - which I love, and has convinced me to stick with RME going forwards. Best interface I've ever used, with the best drivers...

I picked it up today, couldn't resist (I picked up their string libraries during the last sale, and quite like them).
This one is nice, but it's got a very specific sound for very specific uses. The demo tracks showcase all it's tricks, basically - no legato patches, and geared towards fanfares and action tracks.
Sound is good, though, and the library is easy to use. Definitely worth $100 if you need that kind of energetic brass sound.

When I first realized I could do music on my computer, I was using an Creative Audigy2 (which I had added for gaming purposes), and stuck with it for a year or so as it could load Soundfonts, and I had a whole bunch of them.
My first actual audio-specific soundcard was the M-Audio Audiophile 2496 PCI. Great little card, sounded clean and was stable.

Will do. And yeah, getting updates from 8Dio is surprisingly awkward. I didn't even realize they'd updated Anthology to 1.2 until you posted about it the other day.

So, some interesting news: 8Dio tech support was able to reproduce the problem, and have identified the issue. They said a fix is on the way and will be issued shortly via an Anthology Strings update.
I got the email from them this afternoon.
