the echo suits your voice well. I liked the primary motif. very addictive. could have ended at 3'55" or so though.

Hi David . . . had a few listens to this now . . . I think you captured the quartet idea very well here, expressive and dynamic through the whole piece. Not your typical Mariachi, more of an intellectual Mariachi. With these sampled instruments you've pulled something acoustically realistic out of them. (If I heard this on the radio I might not think it was samples) I found it an enjoyable and interesting listen . . . now I have to go look up "tina guo"
Bruce, you were able to get through it more than once? It's only 4'30" but feels much longer to me. haha Tina Guo is a cellist who has a cinesamples cello library that's pretty good. Thanks for taking the time to listen to my music.

sounded realistic. Did you use legato patches on the strings (or sustains)? Second question, what did you *play* and what did you *write* into the sequencer? This is really good!

Today's mariachi ensembles are a favored entertainment choice to celebrate special occasions such as birthdays, weddings, baptisms, holidays and funerals. Mariachi is so important to Mexican culture, in fact, that UNESCO named it as an Intangible Cultural Heritage.
Great work David ..( as always with you ) .. sorry about the late revue as I have a few prob's at home... I was pinged on Band Camp and forgot to say 'good work mate' .. so that done, and for me I really enjoyed it so more please ......

It means alot coming from two of the best composers in the forum. Thanks. Also, I switched the dodgy cello and put in tina guo. It sounds more realistic. Thank you, you two.

Beatiful, David. I ran across this unexpected pleasure while enjoying my morning coffee. I had to listen to it several times and I am still trying to get my head around some of the cool harmonies. Really lovely work, thank you.
As for the name, all you need to say is after listening it becomes perfectly obvious.
Kevin, I haven't quite mastered the string quartet with samples. It's hugely experimental.. but maybe an exercise in tension and release(?)

I reworked an old track. Don't ask me why it's called mariachi.

mix was very gentle on my ears. Great guitar playing.

This is great. I missed crowd noise as well, and maybe a sing along would work well. It reminds me of something RINGO might write.

big sound in the chorus, guitars sound great. Good one.

New song idea, and a mix work in progress, trying to get the vocal clear and lyrics recognizable, let me know what you think . . . I'm at the point where I think I need to just sing it again, and hopefully pronounce clearer ? . . . but I'm not too sure . . .
I love your new song, bruce. Great topic as well.

Whenever they is *it's different this time* you know it aint so. I could hear in your music the warning form santayana about history. You're a musical wizard, jesse.

But I watched the video trying my best to be offended. Did I miss something? I feel disappointed. I sincerely tried my best to me offended. Maybe you can make another video and try harder to offend next time? Sorry, I'm just trying to provide constructive criticism. (Okay, and to keep things light too!)
glad you weren't offended. thanks for listening!

Loved the video especially the cat + neon disco section + the chirpy synth-orientated track which accompanied it perfectly.
Thanks for sharing.
Good Job!

Paul, thanks for watching the video. According to the preppy handbook, a * dirty ralph* is when you barf and there are lots of little chunks in it (usually from drinking). I remember it well....:D
