    Hi, Steve,

You've got a beautiful romantic ballad here with excellent writing and playing, and the heartfelt vocals were really outstanding!😀

Great job on the well textured arrangement and the mix is clear, wide and totally pro sounding.

Dynamite work, Steve, top notch all the way!👍

    Have a good one,
    Bob

    Thanks for listening Bob.

I am knocked out with your comments, so thanks for that. I am a songwriter first and there a some really great musicians here that could easily do a better job,  (you included) so it's great to know someone enjoyed your work ... warts an'all 😏

    Best Regards

Hi Peter Gabriel 🙂 you just have to find your Kate Bush for the next one ...

Imho really cool sound . You are really a british guy.

    cheers .

    ( edit) : Don't Give Up 😎✌️

Hi Olivier ... Pete here .. oh no ... just good old SteveB|

Thanks for your time and input .. not sure what your listening through 'cause for me I don't hear it, still I love the idea of working with Kate ....but don't hold your breath:D

Stay well my French friend 😉

    Steve ( and I won't give up 🤘)

  4. Seems a little swamped ... reverb/bass ? not sure but this concept is great to listen too. One thing to remember is it's Ok when live to hear the breathing between chorus lines but never on a recording because after 2 or 3 listens to the song it no longer sound like a ' live ' performance which, to me it sounds as though you've tried to achieve.

Love the raw vocal and it works well but it's all a little too loose ... if you get my point :/

I liked this song a lot.
I would bring the drums up in the mix....

I would really like to have ago at mixing this song if you wouldn't mind sharing your stems.
Love it...  know exactly where your coming from too!

Feel free to contact me on PM if so.

    Sent you a PM

Whoa, great slow one. Vocals and bgv's especially, quite good. Some spots, the foundation chords clash with the melody, maybe 1:25, some synth holdover might not be in line with the melody? I dunno.

The drums seem a bit subdued in the mix, maybe somehow make some room for them.

But I thought the song itself was killer. Those bgv's particularly add a ton to the vibe.

    cheers,

    -Tom

Many thanks for taking the time to listen Tom, I do take your point about the drum track ... in fact the whole song needs a kick up the proverbial to make it work.

I often do the bgv's real time because it feels more 'real' although with this song I am using a Voice Live Touch I've hooked into my Daw ... basically it's the lazy gene, and instant gratification I blame .....

Thanks again for the compliment on the song though 9_9

    Best Regards

Cool tune - sounds like it came from the heart. I liked the vocal, and the mix sounded pretty good - maybe the bass could come through the mix just a bit more.

HaHa I thought it was too low in the mix so I pulled it up :$ ...On the remix I will bring it down ...Thanks for your valid comment

  8. Brave man ! Not to my taste as it's one of my all time greats but I see where your going with it, I just feel doing a cover should either copy the orig' or do it different with your own take on the hook ... Joe's power lead at the end of this song finishes it in spades and perhaps you could incorporate your interpretation.

Your voice suits this song but I think it could do with M8, that said I'm going around singing it now !o.O so I suppose I'm hooked LOL

    Great stuff chaps

    Steve

Just listened to it again .. forget the M8 bit  ...still goin' around with that hook, still a B.Good song!

  9. Absolutely the best you've done ( IMO ) Great synth work & composition I really didn't want this to end ! One small niggle though, and that is I felt the vocal was a little swamped with reverb which, for me, made the lyric somewhat hard to follow in places.

This took me through a journey I enjoyed ...thanks for the post

    All the best

Steve, I heard the first version of this and I really liked it.  This one too is excellent. You have a distinctive voice which fits a sad song like this very well.
    There's a little glitch at 0:58.

Well I can't hear it o.O ... you sure it's @ 0.58 ? ...Anyway no matter it's most probably due to my old ears getting worse LOL 👴 Thanks again Bjorn

    Hi Steve,

Excellent ballad, well sung, with nice thoughtful lyrics + and a great guitar solo.

    Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Paul I like this song too, but I had a lot of input from my peers regarding the 1st attempt and it really helped (On the old forum), I'm sure without the changes it would have had less impact.

Beautiful song. Nice nice vocals. It makes me really miss my voice. I can only write instrumentals now.

That's real sad mate, I have found now I'm the wrong end of 60 my voice has lost it's top end ...one day I guess I'll be in the same boat as yourself and I'm not looking forward to that.

Take care and keep the faith (music)

    Hi, Steve,

I must have missed this one on the old forum, but this is an absolutely fantastic sounding ballad!🙂

Well written and arranged, with heartfelt lyrics and excellent emotional vocals.

The instrumental performances are stellar and I love the range of dynamics spread throughout the crystal clear, wide sounding mix.

Great work, Steve, this is outstanding!👍

    Have a great weekend!
    Bob

Thankyou for the comments and trouble to make them ..gonna be difficult to get my head through the door though o.O
