And it unfortunately seems to need to be made more clear: since I definitely needed to review that mod post linked above to learn, you might want to re-read and note that affiliate links are not allowed at all - it isn't about disclosing when you use them, it is about not using them at all with regard to affiliate links.

I'll ignore the other stuff, when I was posting any deals (rarely since Lars always has the scoop, even on me the guy who works for IK LOL) I didn't use affiliate links but I'm also not allowed to sell in general per that post and I'm fine with that.  I would kindly suggest to re-read that moderator post linked above and play by the rules of the forum which graciously accepts us.

More unsolicited advice:  This is a cool place for anybody interested in music (and games, and other topics, which makes it even cooler) so why not participate about something I assume you love?  I have had some of the best times here when the discussion had nothing to do with IK, our products, or anything I'm paid to do (oops my superiors might not want to see that ;) ).  I've made friends, had great fun, learned a lot and hopefully shared some of my knowledge too along the way.

I've also made mistakes, been emotional or whatever, furrowed my brow, but then got over myself and whatever bothered me or whatever I was embarrassed of what I did and always felt welcomed overall by the fine folks here.

And you have helped people with a lot of information, including me! Thank you!

Mick has had hip issues for a long time, so I was always astounded by what he endured to just perform, let alone all that he did. I have nothing but respect for him. For the 40 years he has put in, he definitely deserves to remain a band member.

The big thing is, he is a 25%(assuming, but probably right) member of the corporation and keeps getting money. Motley hasn't been a true band in decades, so that doesn't matter as much.

  3. Mick has "retired from touring"(after Motley Crue did a long farewell tour? You don't say!) but still a "full band member"(read: ain't giving up his equity stake in the band's corporation ...SO smart).

John 5 has great chops, but Mick was the most underrated part of Motley Crue, and more genuine than the other members IMO. We all know the Stadium Tour, and the recently announced tour with Def Leppard, are simply a money-grabs. Sad.

I'd rather them get a singer who could actually sing and nail the words every night, just sayin...

  4. I use an odd pairing, I use a Dunlop Nylon .46mm for my acoustic(unless I need to pick a section and I may go up slightly)/electric and a Dunlop Tortex Jazz 1.14mm for electric.

I love the detail a thinner pick can give the sound.

  5. I'd say just don't run administrative system functions and try to run any programs. When I want to perform any maintenance, I do it as the last thing to ensure I don't touch something that may get in the way. Sucks when that kind of thing happens, but I don't know if it is CbB's responsibility for that - though I can see the usefulness of it telling you it can't find your existing paths.

  6. @Lord Tim Love it! Been to ProgPower a few times (I live in Atlanta), and for anyone else reading, it is a GREAT event ...Glenn is only doing a few more years of it, and the bands are top notch.

I wish I was there the year you played. Small world!

I'm considering that Antre may in fact be a Troll on these forms because of the amount of posts he has total, putting everyone into a defensive position by saying "all other DAWS out perform Cakewalk", and in the beginning was taking his time to give us a answer on what computer systems he has ... The amount of stress put of this form is giving this Troll plenty of enjoyment as we try to defend Cakewalk.  I think we should just close this topic.

A sophisticated troll, but a troll nonetheless.

My reason for junctions has been to keep my OS drive small for imaging purposes. In most cases (samples and other related content), they work without any issues. When they are in a program/dll path is where they can get flaky (break on installs and uninstalls), but Melodyne caught me off guard. Oddly enough, Melodyne worked fine until I scanned plugins, so the detail of that plugin path having a junction in it took it offline on me. It wasn't until I specifically asked about that junction on the second bout that I got the, "Yeah, don't do that." It is the only plugin in that folder that fails though (when junctioned).

What do you use for imaging? I use Active Disk.

I have a external 2TB that has rolling images, but a 1TB drive I am backing up, that is 250GB tops when I take a backup image. If you have bitlocker on the drive, it will do the ENTIRE drive, and not just the used part of the partition. I keep samples and such on another 2TB nvme on the motherboard.

For me it is the same as others said. I have Komplete 13 and I am happy with that huge stuff. As I am interested in real instruments this is a really poor release (disappointed). The only new product that's interesting to me is Electric Mint and that's not worth 200 bucks! I had expected some more of their old Softube FX included, but that's also not the case. The PA and iZotope products are not new for me, too! And what I really don't need are additional Play Series products, I have enough of them and almost never use them, because most of their sounds are poor IMO (also compared to their real synths).

    Agreed.

  10. As an IT guy, I HATE/DESPISE upgrades. But I wouldn't mind starting a new box with an OS ...just that 11 does not do a thing for me operationally. The look of it reminds me of a bad Mac OS. But 2024 sounds like the year!

Shoot, we still see threads on this forum for Sonar 8.5 on Windows 7 because it still works for them. Amazing really.

  11. I was working on this yesterday and made progress, but still am curious to some things. I added the instrument per @tecknot , and that worked fine. I was able to get the midi how I wanted it. My problem is isolating the single pieces in a track. AD2, and maybe I have an old drum map or something, but it seems just to give me Overhead L or R as the only working option in the slew of tracks. I tried ALL the inputs for the tracks created, and cannot isolate any drum or hi-hat/etc - which is the same issue I have with BFD3 as well.

Also, how would I convert to audio permanently?
