  1. Don't forget that before BandLab acquired it from Gibson a few years ago, Sonar Producer by Cakewalk (the full program) was about $499 for the first time buyer with version upgrades around the $179 mark.

  2. I’m a virtual musician - I virtually create music. It very flexible as it allows me to live vicariously through this forum and YouTube. That way I can maintain my full time occupation of “Couch Potato”.

The pay’s lousy but there’s no tax or paper work.

  3. I’ve been using Paragon HDD utilities of various generations for many many years and have cloned drives numerous times without issues.

Not suggesting you must use Paragon software, just confirming that with good tools cloning a drive is not a dark art.

  4. I’ve done 2 builds based on consultations with Jim Rosebery (Purrfect Audio Studio Cat)-

I followed his recommendations for all but a few components that I couldn’t source where I live. He followed up with all my questions whether related to hardware or software. The fact that he has run Cakewalk/Sonar for decades is a valuable bonus as he has context for any questions you might have related to our favourite DAW.

  5. Now.
seems telling an off topic (not music related) joke and use of another word for faeces (substituting a letter with an asterisk to disguise it) has earned me the wrath of an admin. From memory I think it’s the first time I’ve ever done the substitution thing in several decades.
It had had several views and reactions and I’d received notification of those reactions. When I checked them was when I discovered the post having been deleted.
I guess that’ll learn me. Really odd considering what passes for acceptable non music related posts in the Coffee House 2.0.

I want to record piano pieces. I will use VST piano, MIDI keyboard controller, studio monitors, audio Interface.

Next I will make mastering of piano pieces.

After mastering I will upload piano pieces to different music sites - this will be the only way to distribute these recordings. There will no be physical media - CD, DVD - in distribution.

    What studio monitors to use?

Don’t forget that your monitoring environment (the recording/playback room) is at least as important as the monitors you’re using. To get the best value for money spent on monitor speakers consider at least some modest acoustic room treatment.

Vogel please accept my sincerest apology foor not including you in my “norm”  listing .

I have a very low attention span which causes me to lose focus on the subject of guitars in bikinis but I just can’t help it

Apology accepted.  Changing my name to Norm (MUDGEL) Vogel
