  1. I can’t even remember my last musical endeavour.  Only touch my gear for maintenance or other non musical use. However, I have broadened my horizons and reconnected with old hobbies like electronics and getting a few projects completed. It’s still a creative process and exercises my brain. I enjoy it.
Since my heart problems last year (wow nearly a year has passed) my emotions have been far too raw to get anywhere near music. The slightest thing can trigger sadness and tears I never knew were inside me.
The nature of the creative outlet no longer matters. Just having an outlet matters. To continue learning, expressing my creativity is plenty enough for now.

  2. In 85 or 86 i had a Kong DDD-1 drum machine and SQD-8 Sequencer. The beginnings a of my own home studio. I had it made. At least i think that was the model numbers. I had a good friend about 10 or 15 years my senior, who owned a Music Store and always had the latest gear. Bill and then later, Alf, who bought that store from him, used to sponsor our 4 piece band with some small bits of gear. New types of products seemed to come out every other day.

Couldn’t get enough of the tech but it was hellishly expensive back then. We really struggled to own our own PA gear. The lack of the right gear was often a limiting factor in the size of gigs we could get. I remember we secured a residency in a really flash sports club. We were offered 5 nights per fortnight. In the end we couldn’t accept the offer because we didn’t have big enough gear. And couldn’t afford to buy it. No one was game to step up and borrow money to buy it.  This was the days before all the venues had their own equipment - you not only had to play you had to be a small trucking  and stage business carting the gear and setting it up. Too poor and not big enough for roadies. Always going round in circles. Those were the days. Woohoo!

    Always the literalist, CBITYRN.

Is a trademark valid for a free product?

Yes. A trademark infringement can occur independent of any monetary consideration. It’s the use not the money which creates the infringement. Same with patents, copyrights and licenses.

My wife went  Gluten Free  7 months ago on doctors advice and we have been experimenting with recipes.   The GF has helped her tremendous so has been worth it but it is hard eating out.  This morning I prepared some Chop suey for tonight's dinner.  Most restaurants use soy sauce that is not gluten free.  Sad because the GF soy sauce taste the same and is the same price at the grocery store.

Anyway hope we both are able to lose the pounds in the new year :)

I got very confused reading your post until I realised that GF was not GirlFriend but Gluten Free. For a while I thought you and your wife had a very unusual relationship. Now that I’ve cleared that up it makes much more sense. Phew!

.Although I do OK, it looks like I'll never get rich playing music for a living. But I enjoy my life and if I had to do it over again, I'd choose the same career.

That’s the best life assessment tool.  Doing it the same given the opportunity to do over.

  6. I can’t imagine what I would do if one of our 3 girls wasn’t there. They give so much affection and demand so little. I can watch their antics for ages.
Missy (This little one in the vid) has formed an attachment with me like no other before. She’s had a bit of a hard road coming into a house where there’s 2 adult desexed female sisters (Buttons & Noni) who haven’t spent a moment apart. They get on pretty good now but she sticks to me like baby p*o on a blanket. It’s amazing how they work out a way to get on with one another.

not me but how do you think he thinks you called him out? :)

Have absolutely no idea. I’ve read my post a few times but can’t work out how I called anyone out. In any case certainly not my intention. Simply adding some extra appropriate info.  At least that’s what I think.
Now I remember why I stopped going upstairs. Time to pull my head in again and shut up.

You are probably correct, but since you called me out, I will clarify that my comment made in October about DXi hosts was actually a bit off topic and irrelevant, and was just an offhand remark. Listing  DXi hosts not being a materially important fact related to a thread pertaining to the discussion of TTS-1 performance in Cakewalk..  So I stand corrected in that regard. It was incomplete.

The OP had asked if TTS-1 was DXi or VST, or both, and if 32-bit vs 64-bit. I believe the answer supplied was sufficient at the time.

How did I call you out?  Just added info about other DX hosts. Even then I underlined think as I wasn’t sure.

Great jumpin' Jehosefat....I see Micheal has a 12TB as a storage drive in his sig!

    You go big down under!

Don’t tell Kenny I go big down under. 🤫

    Seriously though:

    2 x 1 TB + 2 x 2 TB + 2 x 3 TB = 12 TB
512 GB M.2 NVME boot drive.

I repurposed drives as bigger sizes got more affordable. Used to run a server for non-essential and infrequently used data.  Now just 1 PC for the lot. I only backup created data and OS images, then transfer to cloud storage. Everything else can be reinstalled from original media not onsite.
