Apparently I said something funny. Care to elaborate?

A stereo track is essentially two mono tracks/channels that are panned hard Left & Right on one track. So by removing either channel you get a true mono track.
Not if either side contains information not present in the other side

Where as I agree with you and I am certainly one to carry on with older software sometimes the last few years have been the most stable and every update has been even more stable.
Your choice will be.
Use SonarX3 or earlierUse the last release of CbB ( this upcoming release)
Purchase Sonar or Next.
X3? Why not Platinum?

Not sure if this will help but set your Workspaces to "none"

My classic is thinking the C key is "Copy" like in all other software. Poof! no control bar?
The vast majority of the software I use, copy is initiated by Ctrl + c

This is a relatively recent addition. Upgrade to the latest version and you'll be fine. If not, please report back

No that's not what's being said.
The authorization server has been upgraded to support the upcoming Sonar/Next releases. This is incompatible with the old authorization server.
When their authorization period runs out, the CbB 2022.11 release (and all releases of CbB before it) will try to connect to a now defunct authorization server, so the authorization will fail.
CbB 2023.09 does work with the new authorization server. So:
- If you're using CbB 2022.11 or earlier, it'll continue to work until the authorization period runs out.
- At that point, you'll need to upgrade to CbB 2023.09.
Of course, when Sonar is released you can always get that too.
Thank you for the confirmation

As as result, the previous versions of Cakewalk will no longer re-authorize once their authorization period has expired
Not sure what's being said here. I'm reading it that once their authorization period has expired you're basically stuffed. Upgrade to the paid version or do without? This can't be the case surely

Hit 'H'. See if those tracks have been de-selected

That setting should be automatically saved with the project, along with all the other export options. I just checked that here to make sure, and it does. However, I am running a newer version of Sonar so it's possible your version isn't saving it for some reason.
But don't worry about it. It won't affect the quality of your export if you have dither enabled when it's unneeded.
This is interesting, certainly something I only just found out.
The Dithering option in the Export dialog will automatically pick up whatever the user has set under Preferences > Audio > Playback & Recording.

You can usually toggle it on/off with 'I'

You can prevent unwanted editing on a clip by right clicking it and select Clip Lock. You can lock the data, position or both

At that level of resolution, it begs the question - is this anomaly even audible?
-
The only time to use dither is when you're exporting to a lower word length - i.e. from 24 to 16
If you're not doing this then leave it unchecked

A screenshot would be useful

I'd like to know what "Proper EQ settings" are?

Thanks everyone. I might have found a company local to me in the UK who offer this type of service, but I will need to check if they can bake the tapes beforehand

Hi Guys
I recently came across a couple of old master tapes that we recorded back in about 1984 on 7" tape
I haven't a clue about getting this transferred to digital, or even if it's possible
I don't know what speed they were recorded at or anything.
Anyone have any suggestions? I'd love to be able to get these into Cakewalk and have a play with them

Song won’t play at a lower setting ☹️
I would suggest there is something seriously wrong if you cannot even play a 47 track project.
My old XP machine with 4Gb RAM would and did play back 75 track projects, complete with all manner of FX plugins, unrendered V-Vocal clips, un-bounced VSTi's

Or alternatively, people could learn to be a little less sensitive and thin skinned. 99% of all the help & advice given out is in good faith from people offering up their own time to be helpful.

Opening reminds me slightly of Fool's Overture by Supertramp.
There's a lot to enjoy here - all 12:43 of it 😊 - loved the vocals and harmonies as well as the guitar work. Must have been a lot of work - well done.

Thanks Andy. It was a lot of work and took months to finalise. It all started with a very simple chord change and a one line lyric my wife came up with.

Do you have a list of these "numerous bugs"?
