I was just watching a Guy Michelmore video where he talks about his favorite string libraries. While Anthology wasn't among them, 8Dio Adagigo is. That's enough to get me to spend $8 to get it!

Love Guy and all his manic energy!

@Doug Rintoul What do  you think of the Adagio library? I just have the Sordino Strings,  but think they're very nice.

Oh. Are we suppose to use these libraries once we buy them? I am just here for the deals!

Seriously, I like these a lot. They sound great to my ears and in the right hands, they can bring tears to your eyes.

  3. I got this last year when 8Dio was giving it away with purchases over $100. At the time however, there was a glitch in their system where the list price of an item was used, not the sale price, so I ended up buying The New Ambient Guitar and Bottles for $35, and having Anthology strings thrown into the deal.

Note that you have to contact support to get the legacy Adagio library for $8. I did that, and they sent me a coupon code to reduce the price of the Adagio Violins from $70 down to $8. After I purchased the violins, they added the rest of the Adagio library to my account.

Well, considering Presonus will be launched one new version of Studio one per year it looks like subscribing to Sphere is the way to go. Doesn't make sense to buy the upgrade if it is almost the same cost as the yearly subscription. I will have to think about it. Anyone remember if Sphere subscriptions went on sale before?

I thought about this too, but as ALC has stated, you can get at least two years out of a Studio One release. I not sure I would use the extra stuff in Sphere to make it worth spending more money. I already own Notion.

How do I get Neoverb for $9.99? I have the monthly $25 voucher, the $20 no limit voucher, but Neoverb is listed as being $245.

By my calculations, though, I should be able to get B15N and Shadow Hills Mastering Compressor Class A for $9.99.

The monthly voucher is no longer a $25 voucher, but an "any plugin for $29.99" voucher. Combine that with the $20 no limit voucher and you come up with $9.99.

Maybe they finally changed. I have licenses for some of their (Slate Digital, from the same Steven Slate) Virtual Mix Rack plugins that I bought 5 years ago. I just checked their website and found this statement:

The All Access Pass can be used with iLok Cloud and does not require an iLok USB dongle. You will just need an active internet connection to use iLok Cloud.

Perpetual "Buy Now" individual plugin licenses require an iLok 2 or iLok 3 USB dongle.

Maybe that is true for the Slate Digital plugins. The Windows Requirements on the StevenSLateDrums website state the Licensing requirements as Machine ID or iLok Dongle. I think I read someplace that Slate Digital and Steven Slate Drums were separate entities even though run by the same person.

I have to check that out. Though I still have to figure out what the CLAP advantages are outside or Bitwig and its modulators.

I noticed that PreSonus is on the list of companies evaluating CLAP. I wonder is Studio One 6 will support it when it is released.

I think part of the advantage of CLAP is future proofing, especially for developers. I am not sure that there is a clear advantage yet for end users.

FWIW, I will never go near Slate. He's one arrogant mother, and his refusal to permit machine authorizations with iLok (dongle only and now Cloud, too) is a deal-breaker for me. I never got the dongle to worked reliably on any desktop or laptop that I owned and had to give up on all of the Slate plugins I'd purchased. I don't care how good his products are, I'm finished with him.

Are you talking about Steven Slate Drums? Maybe I am not understanding you, but my copy of SSD5.5 is machine authorized, not Cloud, and I have no dongle. It has been that way since I purchased it two years ago.

It look like 1 free base game & 1 free ARK Modkit editor, plus 6 free add-ons. 8 total freebies!

I already had ARK from a previous give away but I was missing the modkit and two expansions. I was able to add those to my cart for free and then check out. Coolio!

I love reading about old computer stories. Mine only go back to the late 90s... I could happily make songs with softsynths and samples on my Pentium.

What were your first computers you used to sequence MIDI, and do hard disk recording?

The first computer I used for sequencing was an Atari 520ST. I actually wrote a sequencer in Modula 2 to drive a DX21 via MIDI because no commercial sofware was available at the time. The 520ST had a whopping 512K of memory. I brought it up to 1M by soldering another 512K memory chip on top of the original 512K chip except for one pin which I had to route to the motherboard for a control line.

Before the 520ST, I owned an Atari 400 with a total of 8K of memory. Those were the days.

It is surreal to hear that someone thinks 32GB is a modest amount of memory. Like others here, I have yet to come close to maximizing the use of my 32 GB of memory.

Congratulations! I was waiting for your confirmation. I'm pulling the trigger tomorrow.

Are you liking it so far?

Actually haven't had time to try it out yet. I just installed it and made sure the code worked. But it looks like it will be really helpful. I am a guitarist but I have never used TAB notation. I have been wanting to learn it for a long time now.

  12. Just received my code to redeem at plugivery. Guess it was not an advance fee scam after all😁.

Edit: Spoke too soon. When I tried to redeem my code, I received an "invalid code" error. I am sure JRR will sort it out.

Edit 2: Turns out the the instructions from JRR were wrong. The code was not actually a plugivery redemption code but the actual license for Guitar Pro 8. It is installed and rockin' now.

I paid $94 back in November 2021 and got Audiority PolyComp free with it 🙂

They did fix it shortly after though.

I actually got it at Best Service last December for $79.64. They had some sort of promo code for $19.02 and I used $.34 in Best Coin.

In the past, I've gotten the license keys immediately (within several minutes).  This is the first time I've had to wait, and I'm still waiting.

I am still waiting for my license as well. I ordered two days ago,

Add it to the cart.  It should automatically apply a discount code.  Try "group" to bring it down to $29.40.  OP should probably mention this.

As ALC said, when you add it to the cart a coupon is called groupbuyauto is automatically applied to bring the price down to $29.75. However, if you explicit enter the coupon code "GROUP", it brings the price down to $29.40. It is strange that groupbuyauto is not the same as entering the "GROUP" coupon code.

You know what, I will give Iris another go when I have time. If it's so praised here, maybe I overlooked something.

Hey man, why the thumbs down? What part of my comment did you have trouble with? I truly was interested in what you did not like about Iris 2, because yours was one of the few descenting opinions and it is always good to get different perspectives even if one does not agree with them.
