I also remember all the talk of a "cluttered screen"...

The promoted clip view being there and even worse, larger than the lanes I'm working on is an extremely cluttered view.

Attempting to view the specific lane(s) I wish to work on almost always forces me to alter the zoom manually and often causes me to "lose my place"

You've heard this from me ever since the conversion from layers to lanes.

There was a tiny improvement long ago, but the issue is still very uncomfortable.

PLEASE!

When a zoom area is selected, I expect (need) to see that area.

It works fine when only tracks are visible, but if Lanes are involved, the result is never close to what was selected and I am forced to tinker in many ways to see what I need.

I stopped complaining about Lanes themselves long ago as most other issues with them have been reasonably addressed.

But this is a continuing annoyance. Could I be the only person bothered by this? I doubt it...

This is not a rare situation. It is constant! If I select an area to zoom, I need/expect that area to become my focus.

There are still many issues related to this. If I have Lanes visible, I really don't need/want a large Track view and tiny Lane view!

Extremely counter intuitive! Especially being forced to the eye-confusing promoted clips in the Track view.

I'm not a melodyne expert, but I believe there is a toggle for quantizing to steps that you need to turn off.

I'm using dual Xeon 6-cores here and it's marvelous. I never come close to any limitations.

I can only say that I know how you feel. These such events beyond out control are difficult.  I lost 3 cats in the last 4 years and I am devastated. Each one has taken it's toll.

I keep their' pictures everywhere and talk to them many times every day. I like to believe our memories keep them alive in our hearts forever.

I have often found this to happen when anti-virus programs are running. Have you tried disabling any such before downloading?

My heart is with you. Animals that become our friends are often closer to us than people. I would probably keep the avatar until such time when it feels ok to change it.

If that time never comes, that's fine as our friends are never forgotten!

I almost forgot to mention... My work has gotten a bit more comfortable...

I have previously had to deal with continual crashes when changing songs. These are all due to my continued use of some 32bit apps. Nothing ever hurt, purely an inconvenience but no more!

I've only had one crash since installing 2019.1.....

Just as a note...

Until a week ago, I have quite happily used V-Vocal with great success.

As I only has Melodyne essentials (being too poor to upgrade),  essentials doesn't have enough tools for the results I seek.

A bit of fortune enabled me to upgrade Melodyne to Editor and I am slowly learning how to work with it. I've had some good results and lots of frustration as I find the learning curve far steeper than V-Vocal to accomplish similar results so we will see... I find audio quality mostly quite excellent with both programs.

Neither program causes any kind of glitches in CbB's performance (with rare exceptions).

Only other current competition I can think of is Autotune.

i think i realuzed it's the 4G limit. These drives are all fat32 so i can use them from the mac side as well...

I didn't see where else I might post this so I hope it's ok...

I've been trying to download the windows 8.1 iso from microsoft with a continued problem. Whether to an internal drive, usb mem stick or usb hard drive...

The file is marked as 4.0G. Every attempt reuslts in a line claiming to have downloaded 4.0 of 4.0 but then it fails.... File won't close? I continue to try getting it to finish and it starts with 9s remaining, but will go no further.

Does anyone have an idea what is going on and how I can get this file? I'm trying to clone/update the system drive here. I want to replace a 500G with a 1TB drive, They are all SSD.

My difficulty is that I run windows 8.1 on a mac pro using bootcamp, so the simple cloning software doesn't work by itself. It has to be installed using Bootcamp somehow. I haven't managed to make it work and I'm squeemish about hurting my nicely running setup. But the instructions want me to first install with bootcamp.

I can easily clone any drive from windows, but they do not end up bootable???

I guess that machine will be running SPlat for a while. I have a rehearsal there on Thursday and will see if I can fit the machine into the car (shared ride). I'm guessing I can install without the audio interface and fix that when returned to studio, yes? That's a harder part if I must move the interface as it remains setup for our rehearsals...

I'm also going to see if someone can get a hotspot running there which might make this painless...

...and moving the machine with it's large monitor and the studiolive console that is it's audio interface is a pain!

Luckily, I still have SPlat installed there and it doesn't appear to suffer this "feature"
