It brings down the EBX 3 pack to 129$, which is almost half price of the regular price of 3 EZ bass extensions.
Does the extensions are good enough to buy them on top of EZ Bass?

thanks! That's the best ebx expansion price against other retails, it seems, even before the bonus coins.

The main EzBass software with no extra expansions is also brought down to that same $129 price with the coupon. I wonder what the odds the main software will get a better sale at black friday...

For other toontrack stuff, it looks like ezdrum/keys generic midi 6-packs and ezx 3-packs are less expensive other places, like thomann, even with the pumpkin code.

  2. The 3-pack "EZX Value Pack" makes these around $49 per ezx at thomann or just over that at best service with the pumpkin codes.

But you need to be interested in 3 of them or be ok to hold onto unregistered codes.

  3. watching the video now but I'd have taken whatever that isn't moving to a subscription service :)

Edit with video summary to not have three posts:

    • four omnisphere 2 expansions
    • they include sounds, patches, and each includes two new FX which can be installed and used without the sounds
    • only available from https://shop.sonicextensions.com/
    • the "deal" is perpetual: buy 2 get 20% off, buy 3+ get 30% off
    • all four expansions available are $149 each
    • doing the math with the discount it's: 1 for 150 (150 ea), 2 for 240 (120 ea), 3 for 315 (105 ea), 4 for 420 (105 ea)
    • from FAQ, licenses can only be transferred along with Omnisphere. and as I recall there are some restrictions there but I don't do much plugin reselling/transferring.
  4. great, thanks for the tips... and even better I already have Train II and Rockergain from PA sales.

(also, sorry for the confusion to people reading the last few posts, I originially replied to the wrong post, but got lots of helpful feedback anyway :))

This one is tempting with a $25 voucher.

While I am not a big fan of PA amp sims (after grabbing much better ones from different brands) Pete's amp emulation and this one especially still looks very tempting to countless collection...

Hi Piotr, completely out of interest to demo and not debating -- if you wish to share, which ones would you consider top-tier at this point?

I upgraded to AT5 and have a couple of the Neural/PA/Nembrini ones, but haven't tried things from most newer developers e.g. ML Sound Lab.

is this a good price? is this of use only if you are a developer?

For what it does, it is a very good price. Ideally developers would write their own analyses for this sort of thing during development but I would guess many do not, so the ability to check your work with an accurate, dependable tool for $29 is crazy low. I'm sure different people here have day jobs where relevant debugging tools cost thousands of dollars.

From what I understand PD does what it does well too. Whether the average musician/songwriter/producer needs it is another question.

Are you too happy with your current plugins and either want an excuse to buy new ones or the ability to go on internet forums and complain about EQ cramping, something you weren't too familiar with in your last 20 years as an audio producer but is now the single biggest impediment to your success?

On the other hand avoid it if ignorance is bliss; you might find out that some $99+ "analog emulations" are uncomfortably close to linear eqs that could be captured with q-clone, or especially other plugins. I think PD been used to tear down soundtoys decapitator, used all over the place, because it was discovered it doesn't oversample so now has lost its magic.

I'm on the fence. Someone push me one way or the other:

I already have SD3 but I might consider BFD just for Joe Barresi Evil Drums. How has this kit held up? Is it still worth buying? Is anything in SD3 comparable?

Someone I know likes Evil Drums and used it at least as of a couple years ago. Too bad you can no longer get it as an SDX, though Toontrack supported it in SD3 and made some fixes. Hope they continue supporting it later versions... was it the only third-party SDX?

Platinum Samples also has a version for their "accent" drum vi, which seems to be on sale for $100 direct on their site right now. The library includes the player.

  8. kudos to PA for reactivating these. I knew I couldn't get upset about not being able to combine a deep discount sale with an additional coupon, but telling users their browser settings must be wrong after they disabled all the vouchers on their end didn't seem great. Even though that was probably just support following a script and not anything purposeful.

Juste woke up and saw the counters! This is my first GB and it is gonna be the best ever! Thanks IK!

Ok, maybe IK's 50th anniversary GB will beat it!

If we make it another 25 years and we can still "buy" software for a general-purpose computer outside an app store, and not have a subscription for everything down to the audio interface drivers I'll consider it a win. :)

more realistically, if I'm still around and making music in another 25 years at all I'll consider it a win

I contacted Plugin Alliance on Fakebook...and they said try another browser.  I had tried 3 browsers.
I believe that it's locked out because of the new sale that blocks more than one voucher from
being applied to your order, so I sent a Support Ticket

    thanks for checking, Larry.

I added a new, expensive, not covered by sale, no available crossgrade EQ200 to the cart and my voucher still said invalid. They might have expired them?

    • Thanks 1
  11. that's disappointing; the voucher mail does say end of day August 31, and:

    Quote

It expires at the end of this month. The code is valid for any plugin sale, upgrade or promotion this month, but not valid for subscription bundles.

but oh well. For those interested: the $30 level has all 13 exclusions, the $40 level allows Big Al and Unfiltered Audio Silo, and the $50 level allows SSL 9000 J.

I'm not seeing the limiter part on Cubase Vintage Compressor's GUI. The IKM Presicion Comp/Lim is based on Neve 33609 which is a compressor and limiter combo.

    +1.

I haven't use Cubase's Vintage Compressor, but before the version 3 redesign which gave it more of a neve color, it was black and looked very close to an 1176, and the ratio buttons make me think it might be inspired by that one instead. The IK equivalent of this would then be the Black 76, which is included in T-Racks 5 SE or available individually depending on what level you're in the group buy for (SE comes with a handful of other modules too). While I haven't used cubase's, from a quick sampling of reviews the IK one looks like a better emulation.

Sorry if this has been covered (I don't have time at the moment to read through 15!  pages) but why is there a Tracks 5 and a Tracks 5 SE? they seem like the same exact thing and are both $149.99?

This confused me too. As I read it, they both include the t-racks shell and the four classic modules. Then they differ in what extra modules they include.

SE includes the de-esser, tape echo, csr room reverb, then emulations of the fairchild 670, 1176, and LA-2A. All that stuff was around in t-racks 4 or even 3 but if you don't already have emulations of those despite being on this board :) they're good tools to have. I'm not sure what state of the art in 1176/la2a's emulations is.

T-Racks 5 "plain" aka "the one without anything else at the end" includes the classic modules plus "the stuff new to -tracks 5" - metering, dyna-mu compressor, master match, and EQual and ONE equalizers (edit: ONE is a mastering processor, with eq and dynamics and transients, not just an EQ. Haven't used any of this stuff)

edit 2: I'm not sure whether this means someone could pick them both up and receive the new-to-tracks5 modules as well as the fairchild/black/white modules for two choices.

  14. I'm in twice, Cinekinetik looked interesting, I know there was some talk about the full collection not being choosable as an item but being able to pick all four of them up individually, and if more tiers are reached some of the Electromagnetik pianos, for $35 after jampoints seemed like a good idea

[...] Personally I wish that there was an option to turn "Owned"
on or off, so that if you wanted another of something you could still get it, as you can in the store

    yes this would be nice.

abacab, I have an alternate thought to please not change the current system to hide things that are "covered" by collections we already own (e.g. various syntronik synths if you own syntronik). I just bought in and if it reaches another few levels I was considering picking up a duplicate of e.g. mixbox (have mixbox upgrade, mixbox is visible) to future-proof. IK's license agreement allows for multiple simultaneous installs but only allows one active running instance. There's a chance down the road I might use a multi-pc setup for plugin compatibility or just desktop/laptop in the future and being able to have extra licenses for everything I put on my daw starter template would be nice to not have to worry about closing things down to stay true to the licenses. I'm happy to have the selection list scroll a bit longer for this :)

If I already have the gear I need through having AT4 and collections, is there any incentive in getting AT5 over AT5SE functionality wise? Apart from AT5 having more gear, anything else added over AT5SE? I have been using AT5CS for a while and miss not having access to VIR and the mixer, so thought ATSE would be enough?

I think that's the case -- that AT5 is AT5SE plus extra gear. From the comparison chart, AT5SE does have VIR and the mixer. The extra gear includes the new-to-AT5 amps/pedals/cabs; I haven't spent enough time with it yet but so far they sound nice.

    https://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/include/at5/gear_list_pdf/AmpliTube_5_comparison.pdf

If you are deciding between AT5SE or AT5 to purchase into the group buy, the $150 vs $200 price points qualify for some different bonus products. MixBox, hammond, full rather than SE versions of MODOs and SampleTank, SampleTron 2, Lurssen all appear at 200 but not 150 for me.

edit: those $ amounts are what I see due to qualifying for crossgrades (very easy with IK). For brand new users I think it might be higher.

After getting AT4Max last group buy I've added the newer collections was just wondering if upgrading to AT5 would 'max' out my stuff...

again this is if I understand correctly, but I do think AT4Max + new collections + AT5 gives you literally everything available now.

If you have all the AmpliTube collections (Slash, May, etc.) does AmpliTube 5 have everything included in Max version?

iiuc, there are some piecemeal custom shop items included in AT5Max that you would not have after buying AT5 + every collection: Carvin, Jet City, Dr. Z amps, T-Rex and Wampler pedals. I think you'd have those with AT5Max or AT4Max.

But I don't want to conflict with Peter's message - Peter, maybe I'm mistaken?

edit: only answering that question directly, not to dissuade anyone from at5; especially with the collections you have a huge amount of sounds and all the newest ones. after many years it's still my default guitar sim plugin and there are at least 3 instances in my template.
