you can set the bit depth in the Preferences -> Audio Data

For this project  Render Bit Depth  is the only 32 listed.  All "bounced" wav files are 32 bit and some files which may have been edited but not bounced.  Looks like Render Bit Depth applies to bouncing and editing thru the Process menu.

I must have set it some time ago as all new projects default to 24/32/24.

I found Import Bit Depth: 24 will convert any file I import to 24 bit.

  2. Most likely a project glitch but new projects exhibit similar behavior when 2 instances of Sonitus Reverb are used.  Looks like a conflict between Sonitus and Mackie interface.

Since Windows 10 and the entire DAW was reinstalled from scratch, Mackie has been acting a bit weird.

The slowness in CbB and Sonar...

Are you alluding to the new beta??

CbB underwent a lot of changes from the original X series and suffers a bit from it, IMHO.  The SPlat windows open a lot quicker.  Sonar 8 and previous versions open individual pages thru the main Options menu so they're also a bit faster.

  4. Glitch Report

    2nd UPDATE
In this case, when Sonitus Reverb's AUX: Vocal Hall 2 - Predelay is set somewhere between 105-250 ms and DRY set to 0, it overloads the Mackie ASIO with a crackling pop permanently pegging the buss's meters whenever it's ON and killing all audio.  It works fine below 105.  No audio needs to pass thru the reverb for this to happen.  It's intermittent so not 100% reproduceable and only seems to happen with this preset and Mackie Onyx.  Never happened with any other interfaces.

Removing and replacing the reverb and the bus does not fix it.  So far the only fix is to keep Predelay at or below 105.

Windows 10 Home, i7 Intel, 32 GB ram, SSD OS & storage drives, Mackie Onyx 12 interface.

  5. Yes Demo lets you see the full version for a time limit but LE was the Sonar version.  It's great we're not forced to use the latest versions only AND previous versions can work side by side if needed.  Unlike Melodyne, which is why I haven't upgraded.

  6. I use Alt+mouse wheel a lot to zoom in & out but it doesn't center correctly at first.

When trying to zoom from Fit Project To Window to a specific point, no matter where I hold the cursor, the first 6 mouse wheel scroll ticks center on point -0- instead of the desired location, making it feel like I'm chasing a wet mouse until the 6th wheel tick when it finally centers on the desired location.

Sonar X3 centers on the 3rd scroll tick so it's been around awhile and not improving with age.

  7. Not so straight forward but most updates are available on the Legacy Knowledge Base page.

At the top of this page go to...

Other Links > Cakewalk | Home > *CLICK HERE FOR LEGACY CAKEWALK ACCOUNT→* > Support > Knowledge Base
*at the very top - or "Legacy Website" at the very bottom

Type a word in the Terms box and click SEARCH button.

If the link starts with "www" you need to change it to "legacy" for it to work.

Most of your pre-CbB downloadable products are available here.  Some are also available thru Command Center.

Be careful downloading content from 3rd party sites.

  8. My mistake.  I was dragging several selected audio clips from the same track so they all got bounced together during export causing the project name to occur.
Clips names are retained when dragged individually.
Clip name = "clip" if not named.

MIDI clips always retain project - track - clip name - [#](#) regardless of action or bounced state.
Clip name = "untitled clip" if not named.

    Original request edited.

  9. But that won't show/hide the meters.  One of the 3 top options in Options>Meter Options must be checked.

Funny it's not an option in Track Control Manager.

Not funny is having to reenter the menu for each setting you want changed.

  10. Thanks for the replies, will be checking them out.  Also learning not all harpsichords sound the same so I may even sample one if it comes to that.  I lean more for Renaissance sound.

On another ♪, kind of amazed how nice some of the saxophones in Dimension Pro sound in a mix.  Probably not so good soloed but my needs are pretty basic.
