  1. I use kontakt and halion 6 instruments. Right now, I use one instance per instrument. I watched a video by kelooh where he sets up track templates with kontakt instruments in groups, strings, cellos... each with one instrument and up to 16 slots of varieties or articulations. I know some of you use massive libraries. My projects are modest, but as they grow, I can see I need to have a handle on managing all this efficiently. Which of these approaches is most efficient, from a memory and processor standpoint? Thanks!
  2. Old school thinking here. Studio consoles have an input section and an output section. On the left you have, say, guitar tracks. Each has eq, fx, etc. Those guitars are routed to the Guitar master fader on the right side, which goes to your Master fader, which goes to your hardware out. Put the meter on your Master bus. You'll have a Master Bus for guitar, bass, drums, vox... Get everything sounding the way you want on the left side faders, then use the right side to get the balance you want.
  3. I have the M4, sounds good, drivers are good, works well with CbB and cubase...
  4. Anyone running this on windows 11?
  5. His prices are so low it's insane!!!
  6. I had to turn on tpm on one computer, then I was compatible. New laptop was ready. Upped both. No issues. I reinstalled audio and video drivers. Most everything worked. CbB and cubase ran fine, but neither could find waves plugs until I reinstalled them. Vegas, spitfire and a couple of others had to be refreshed, too. No big deal, system feels a tad quicker on 11.
  7. It doesn't work. Problem with their server... Second issue this week.
  8. I run multiple instances of Halion 6. You do need to use the Steinberg download manager.
  9. Uninstalled and reinstalled. No luck. Same crash.
  10. I uploaded the file when I created the ticket. They responded by telling me to uninstall and reinstall cbb. Haven't had a chance to do that yet.
  11. Sorry, haven't been down this road before. I'll file a ticket and upload properly tomorrow.
  12. found two dumps. i tried to attach, tells me i can only upload 4.88MB, one is 5 the other is 15
  13. Title says it all. Save a project. Select all tracks, export audio, click ok, the progress bar comes up, and before any sound, crash to desktop. Seems to be random, happened on two projects that are not similar in terms of plugins, instruments. I updated my motu m4 driver and firmware, didn't help. Any ideas? Thanks.
  14. That will add reverb to the prochannel on that track. To create a reverb send, you need to create a new bus for the reverb to live in. Name it "reverb". Route it to master. Add a reverb to the fx slot of the bus. In your original track, add a send to your "reverb" bus. Now you can control the level of the verb with the knob.
  15. I programmed the number 1 on the top row to be "return to project start"...
  16. I have the same thing on one or two oldish projects. Solution for me is to reselect my workspace, then track, concole... are back. Have no idea why those projects are different.
  17. In device manager, disable any sound or audio devices that are not your focusrite. Reboot. Reinstall your 6i6 driver, make sure you have the latest. Reboot.
  18. Thanks. I'll take a look tomorrow, just got the free version. Sounds great, but I can't seem to get different sections on different midi channels, only midi 1 plays. For my current project I only need violins1, violas and cello. Do I need three instances?
  19. I lost a bunch of files to a Windows update bug, 50 out of 80 files missing from one project, about 2 months ago. I just updated to win 10 2004, and there's a Windows file recovery app for that version only in the app store. It's a command line utility, had to invoke my DOS skills, but was able to recover all the files, and many from projects I hadn't worked on recently. Gives you the option to overwrite or keep both, which I did on a different drive.
