  1. Sometimes you can't drag things in that are currently zipped. Make sure it isn't inside a zip file when you drag it in.
  2. The answer depends on your gear. You can always do a hardware loopback where you plug your output into an input. Some interfaces have an internal loopback.
  3. Silly joke to lighten the mood...
  4. I heard a ton of noise. Sounded like you were using an amp sim. Some of the noise comes from the amp sim just like in real life. If you have the amp sim turned down, the relative noise is louder. You probably want to turn up the amp sim a lot so the signal relatives to the amp noise is better. As you can see, most of us recognize noise, but aren't sure if it's simulated noise from your amp sim or if it's noise on your input jack. You can answer this question by just disabling your amp sim. What does it sound like without your effects on? If it sounds pretty good and clean, then part of your issue might be dialing in your amp sound. Try working with some presets. Do they sound any better? It is totally possible to play an amp set at 1 out of 12 and record it and hear a lot of amp sound in the recording because the noise from the amp will be very loud relative to the sound from the amp. If you turn the amp up to 11 or 12, (refuse to make the 11 joke), then with the noise roughly the same, the signal of interest is enormously loud. It may be that your only problem is working on your sound.
  5. Note on event without note off causes the stuck note.
  6. I use clip fades in lots of places. For example, around tom hits I'll fade out the tom Mic. Before i export a track, i always bounce to track, set the output for that new track direct to interface. If necessary, i can apply clip fades to this bounce. I can also detect unused head room and either reduce compression or raise the gain and rebounce. Then if i return to the track later to make changes, i can a/b the new and old versions using exclusive solo. I avoid bus automation unless it is required.
  7. Zo, I totally misunderstood that answer.
  8. I'm guessing it's a bad connection on the printed circuit board for your video card. This is basically not really fixable without replacement. Sometimes warming up the card will temporarily fix the issue because as the plastic expands the connection is restored. It is likely caused by overheating the card in the first place. First, the card heats and the silicon which doesn't soften with the plastic can buckle. When the card cools it separates the silicon path. So, replacing the card is really the fix. Also, you have to watch out for heat in your device. Overheating can ruin more than your video card. <Please recognize that this is supposition. Replacing the card is what I would do if it were mine. This is based on the evidence you provided that when you duplicated the screen you saw the same flaw in both.>
  9. Gotcha. Makes sense. I have nothing useful to say.
  10. Thanks! I misread it. No idea about that.
  11. I have been playing with mic positioning and use of high pass filters the time of recording. I have been using fewer mics. Riding without a helmet if you will.
  12. Offset mode might help as well.
  13. I change tools by pressing T.
  14. Plug in another screen and mirror them.
  15. A lot of z3ta presets drive hard into a limiter. You can back this off.
  16. I kinda want to know the name of the engineer who spun the tapes. 😄 And we're the settings on the altec actually used? Bass and treble nearly dimed...
  17. At the end of the boycott, while the buses weren't segregated, the bus stops still were.
  18. I learned that MLK was not permitted to give his speech at the close of the year long bus-boycott from the Alabama capital steps so he made it from a flatbed truck... https://kinginstitute.stanford.edu/king-papers/documents/address-conclusion-selma-montgomery-march ... Parked in front of the capital steps. It made me wonder if the dead knew of this when they did their flatbed show in sf.
  19. The lynching museum made coffins listing every county in the country with lynching history and the names of the lynched, where known. They have duplicates laid out that the counties can take back and display in their towns. To say it is overwhelming is an understatement.
  20. I rode a bus from Richmond VA like the freedom rides and I'm riding the bus back. I was going to go with my mom but she had a mini stroke and couldn't go. She asked me to still go. A member of my church worked for the Smithsonian and is connected with the museums in Montgomery. When he said he wanted to go, the folks put together a group of 36 people and hired a bus.
