  1. You can get Samplitude X4 suite for about 150.00 - if you're going to try it out - go for the X4 suite. I believe the new release of Samplitude does have Brass. From Magix recent E-mail for Sampletude X4 suite. Only available in the Suite: 5 additional VST instruments included only in the Suite version: Pop Brass, Concert Guitar, Sansula, Upright Bass and Urban Drums. Cleaning & Restoration Suite: DeClicker/DeCrackler, DeHisser, DeClipper, DeNoiser for eliminating clipping, crackling and noise from your audio files. I have Samplitude but I use it just for some older legacy files. I use Independence Pro for a lot of work - It has a very good sample set. There's a very big learning curve with Samplitude that I never quite got the hang of. I've been a Cakewalker for many many years and though other DAWS do have good features and do some things very well... I can't get anywhere near the productivity of CbB.
  2. I don't think there are " issues " - but Ara2 integration has a little different learning curve. The CbB update is fantastic - the audio editing on a micro scale is very nice and it does solve issues related to the latest Melodyne release. There is serious work taking place on making CbB on of the best DAWS available. The amount of work done in one year alone is a pretty amazing testament to how serious Bandlab is about this software.
  3. I thought I had this same issue, but - I noticed that the melodyne region - what used to be just the selected clip to edit was now showing the whole length of the project and the issue for me was finding the small region I selected and finding the right zoom level to access. - Maybe there is switch to auto zoom the selected region? I usually work on very small regions and clips typically to adjust a missed notes pitch or weird harmonic that I can tune out. Also- last time this happened I did a time line selection and not a small discreet split clip. Maybe this is why the whole project time line was showing in Melodyne ? I'm still pretty new on anything except the basics.
  4. I rarely use take lanes myself - But I understand the need for specialized zoom configurations. I think it would be great if there was a whole new dock ( with track selection) just for the selected track, it's automation and or take lanes. I can imagine a full zoom second monitor just for this - because the detail and zoom levels are critical in some applications.

    Visual Clip Gain

Would it be difficult to maximize the visual to the current track height scale by default ? This was talked about in another thread, it would at least keep the wave form relatively visible - the scaling would change ( and still be adjustable ) of course - but just changing the track height would keep the waveform relative.
  6. I downloaded the trial version and never had a chance to try it....... Well today I bought it with out a test drive and I found my new goto Delay - it is amazingly good and covers more ground than I could ever imagine.
  7. Noel - The enhancements for audio editing are amazing. I've been doing a lot of very tight waveform editing the last few months and I thought I was getting some errors when rendering - particularly with stretching and slip editing - but I was doing this against an existing project where I had completely re-written the tempo map and was tasked to cut audio tracks in a thousand places and move and stretch them to fit the new tempo adjusted midi tracks. It was very tedious and I thought I was taxing the whole thing by rendering against a continuously varied tempo map. The fixes for wave editing are super tight . I feel really confident going in a cleaning up things now - Thanks again for all the pain staking work your team is doing.
  8. It's a good place to add some real dollar value added support. I'd be glad to pay for new dynamics modules - maybe a dynamic EQ - modulation effects. delays. etc.
  9. Thanks for the update CbB and crew ! Smoothest / easiest update to date. You guys are killing it. Great fixes, features and updates.
  10. In other words adobe is saying - ( careful - there's those bad guys out there ) but sign on and you're protected ( from us ! )
  11. It would be a useful feature to have waveforms " automatically maximize " scale to current track height - but I imagine it might create a lot of graphics loading to impose it.
  12. I suggest transferring the physical drive to your new computer or to an external drive enclosure and continue to use it as your project drive. Just create the audio drive path under preferences. I did this with a ton of Sonar 5 projects from an older XP based computer - and just continued to use it. I've never had an issue with an older WRK file opening. I'm using Win7 though.... maybe Win 10 would give me headaches.
  13. Is there a reason you can't export the track again as mono? As far as your question - I don't think there will be difference converting to mono.
  14. Just a side note : your CbB saved files will open in Platinum - they are cross compatible. It's not a one way street.
  15. You can Save as a midi file - type 0 merges all midi data to a single track - Type 1 saves as separate midi channel information to 16 midi channel tracks. Sounds like you should edit the synth though.
  16. I've always just selected a region in the time line and hit the loop button. If I need to fine tune the time selection - I just zoom in on the yellow loop start or end - hover with my mouse and drag it to position.
  17. I recall there was a critical patch in Version 2 as well .
  18. Wow - I didn't realize it was Titanium - missed that little detail..... but stainless is relatively cheap.
  19. I have one with V2 system. We used to use it with a 24 trk ADAT set-up years ago. Today I use it as synth mixer basically. It has the meter bridge and Adat cards and the TC-Unity card. All in a custom desk. Still a great operating rig. Sounds fine, and everything works. It was owned by Peter Framptons studio many years ago. I'm not sure if the Version 2 does anything for Fader movement - but the one I have operates smoothly. You might do a little research to see if a little fader lube might help. It might not hurt to try it on one. I had an O1V as well - and just went through it and cleaned all the switches and pots - and lubed the faders as well. It didn't seem to do much for the faders - but they were a little clunky compared to the O2R.
  20. I never tried out the Ibanez guitar synth - Back in that day I had a Roland GK-2 mounted to a WestBury and run through a GM-70. I got some very useful work done on that rig. I gave it to my brother a few years back and somehow he lost track of the GM-70. Still has the West Bury with pick-up though. I do a lot of precision metal work - I bet I could make something similar to the Gittler.
  21. There's a nice Sony 3036 console on Reverb right now----great combination.
  22. Wow - I'd love to try these out..... too bizarre to pass up. I really like the bridge set-up on the metal one. Little more scalloped than usual I guess
  23. I personally like the heavy Les Pauls. I tried a studio that was chambered - and it just didn't work for me. I have a line on a 73 Deluxe - unfortunately it's a "player " but it plays really well sounds great and I've been playing on it semi regularly for a couple of years. I just need to trade it off for half way decent acoustic - I'm not ready to give up my recording acoustic.
  24. A midi track has a volume control and fader associated to it - you can see this in the track inspector as well the volume control in the track view. The volume envelope parallels the value of the fader. The default value of a new midi track is ( I think 100 ? or is it 107? ) which gives a little headroom - up to 127 for midi volume control. So, you have a default envelope.
