  1. TTS-1 has 4 audio outputs, and any of the 16 tracks can be routed to any of the 4 outputs.
  2. If you bounce a track it gets the name Bass(1). Edit a bit and bounce again. It is Bass(2). Edit a bit and bounce, it is Bass(3). Now you can choose which one you want, externally or internally. The unused bounces are what is deleted when you clean up audio files. And if you are using MIDI + Synth it is perfectly normal to bounce to get an audio track to work with. Especially if you have a high load on your CPU.
  3. Uninstall Cakewalk. Install Sonar. Install Cakewalk. Accept default folders in all cases. CbB will see all the Sonar plugins. As for sounding different in Cakewalk, Windows may very well use an app for playback the has settings that is messing with the sound.

    Midi won't play

To PM click on on the user's name above their pic. One of the options you get is Message.
  5. Downloaded is not the same as found during a VST scan. Check that it is in the Browser. If not, make sure the install location is in your scan paths.
  6. So much stuff is missing because this version is FREE. 😀 When you installed Cakewalk did you opt to install the Studio Instruments. If you did, select sort by manufacturer and see if they are there. Otherwise you can use Bandlab Assistant to download them. As for all the other stuff, install Platinum and then this version. The Platinum stuff will then be available.
  7. You can also Sort by Manufacturer and look under Cakewalk.
  8. The instruments are showing in the audio effects plugins. That is why they don't work. If the VST reset works they will be in the browser under instruments. In the video, at time 03:12 he adds an instrument. Do it the same way. Notice that after clicking + he clicks Instrument.
  9. Attach a snippet of the audio if you can.
  10. I would keep as up to date with Windows as is possible. Just for everything's sake.
  11. I understand about constant revision. See scooks post about Library.db.
  12. 1) With your own list the number of categories is up to you. 2) If you use your own list you have to edit your layout to add the new plug-ins each time you add/remove.
  13. Use Utilities -> Cakewalk Plug-in Manager. Works very well. Plus you can put a VST in more than one category. You don't tag a VST, you create categories and add VSTs to it. You create a Plug In Layouts. For FX and instruments. Different ones if you want. Add Folders (Categories), add VSTs. As many as you want. Where you want. You can even have master Categories PaidFor and Freebie, And then in the Browser, where you select Sort byr Category, Sort by Manufacturer you can select your own layout. And it isn't Cakewalk that tags them, the manufacturer does. Cakewalk's list (part thereof) My list (complete) You can have sub-folders, and sub-sub-folders.
  14. One poster said it must go into sleep mode. The other said during his 8 hours shut-eye. Test overnight. 😀
  15. A window or control that has the focus is what is going to respond to key-presses. Open a few apps so you can see them on the task bar. The running apps are underlines. The one that is shaded has the focus. If you type on the keyboard the key presses will go to that app. That is why you need to click in a textbox before you type a username or password or whatever. To give it the focus, so what you type goes there and not into the email you were writing. You know it has the focus because it has a flashing insertion point. So if Cakewalk has the focus, pressing the space-bar starts and stops play. If Microsoft Word has the focus, pressing the space-bar inserts spaces.
  16. Ok, you have some drum hits. On the toolbar use Select. Click and drag to "enclose" the notes. Process-> Quantize (or press q.) Select the parameters (whatever you want): Click Ok. The notes get moved.
  17. With me it closes. That is why I made those suggestions. Reading it, you are opening the standalone version. This is what you should see: Open Browser, select Instruments, drag and drop Kontakt to tracks pane. Select First Synth Audio Output (for the moment.) You now have: Click on the icon just to the right of 1. You see this: Pick the library you want to use. Just below the pretty picture is the word Instruments. Click on it and navigate to the exact sound you want. Double-click and it appears in the right hand pane. Then I suggest you go to the Tutorials section and start watching videos. Search for Cakewalk Kontakt and also Cakewalk Mixcraft. Enjoy. 😀
  18. The standalone version is an exe file. Cakewalk won't see it as a VST. To load Kontakt, open the Browser, look for Kontakt and drag it to the track pane. Then check. Also, in Utilities, Cakewalk Plug-In Manager, in the left pane click on VST Instruments (VSTi) and in the right pane look for Kontakt and click on it. At the bottom the File name should end in Kontakt.dll.
  19. Do not move the dll. Firstly, uninstall Atmos Piano. Then install again, accepting all settings as is. Then tell us if that helped or not.
  20. It sounds like reinstalling Cakewalk might be a good idea. It is a painless experience.
  21. Play, Record, etc is not being done through the virtual controller. The virtual controller simulates a MIDI keyboard. If the virtual controller is open and has focus, pressing K plays a C note. And pressing L will play a D note.
  22. Watch this and this and this. It is a good idea to go to the Tutorials section and Search for Kontakt. Generally speaking, watching a few videos is better than asking questions. 😀 Plus, watchinga video you learn other things as well.
  23. They want it already selected when Cakewalk starts.
