There are 3rd party plugins that don't respond to K6 Add Library. Then you can add them with K5, and use them in K6.
-
OK. A Reset Rescan solved the problem. VST3 working in default folder again. The dll plugin is the (working) VST2 version. Thanks, everyone. And Reset didn't even harm my personal plugin menu layouts. And all the plugins in my personal exclusion list stayed there.

Not there. With "Show permanently excluded" ticked and unticked.

Thanks guys. What I did was run install again, and added the VST plugin, as well as the VST3 plugin. This put a dll file in the VST folder. This works, and is in fact a VST3 plugin. (Can I rename that to VST3, and put in in the right place?) When scanning, the log says: VSTSCAN: ---- 49: c:\program files\common files\vst3\SampleTank 4.vst3 ---- VSTSCAN: [ShortPath] c:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\vst3\SAMPLE~1.VST VSTSCAN: [RegKey] Software\Cakewalk Music Software\Cakewalk\Cakewalk VST X64\Inventory\c:/program files/common files/vst3/SampleTank 4.vst3 VSTSCAN: Known bad VST plugin skipped VSTSCAN: ---- 111: e:\data\midi\vstplugins\Samplers\SampleTank 4.dll ---- VSTSCAN: [ShortPath] e:\data\midi\VSTPLU~1\Samplers\SAMPLE~1.DLL VSTSCAN: [RegKey] Software\Cakewalk Music Software\Cakewalk\Cakewalk VST X64\Inventory\e:/data/midi/vstplugins/Samplers/SampleTank 4.dll The comment "Known bad VST plugin skipped" looks like a blacklist entry somewhere.

This is the new, fixed, VST3 for SampleTank4. Where/how can I tell Cakewalk that this is in fact a new/different/fixed VST3?
-
Getting mutes is a function of the VSTi guitar that you use. To get only some strings muted means you would have to trigger articulations in mid strum. The promo video says nothing about palm mutes, so the Jamstik can't send that info.

I'd start with an uninstall/reinstall.

Or, after selecting times and track, click on Set Loop Points on the Control Bar.

With the Sends list and Categories list, split into multiple columns. Or become mouse-scrollable (but I think that is a Windows problem.) -

With the Cakewalk Plug-in Manager, selecting a plug-in should show which folders it is in. -

Negative measure numbers. When you are entering from sheet music, and need at least 1 measure for sysex and the like, and would like your entry to have the same measure numbers as the sheet music. It's a pain always having to add 2 or subtract 2. -
What I have managed to determine is that the Bass P Lite II and the M II Lite only work if you install them as admin and run Cakewalk as admin. Anybody else have this problem or is it only me?

I suspect you might be asked to supply a screen shot of just after you insert the VST, to see why you should need to collapse the added track.

Setting up Reason as rewire in Cakewalk
Nigel Mackay replied to musikman1's topic in Instruments & Effects
Googled and found a comment, from September 2019, that the Intro/Lite version of Reason no longer supports Rewire. Only the full version does. Also, Reason has to be 64-bit to work. So you need v8 upwards. -
Don't know why I missed it before, but VST4Free has NST Choirs from bcvsts. Nice light vocals.

(Solved) Nomad Factory Blue Tubes effects presets
Nigel Mackay replied to Nigel Mackay's topic in Instruments & Effects
Thanks. Solves the problem. On a side note, why do some topics have a choice to vote for the "best answer" and some not? This also acts as a "solved" indicator. -
These are the ones from Sonar. There is a problem with accessing the presets if you run Cakewalk as administrator. The presets are installed into ...\<username>\documents\Nomad Factory..... So if you run Cakewalk without administrator rights you have access to the presets. If you copy the presets to ...\admin\documents\Nomad Factory..... and run Cakewalk as administrator there is no access to presets. Cakewalk/Windows is confused. But I read that Cakewalk must be run as administrator. The Cakewalk icon even has the UAC logo on it. Can anybody help with a solution to this? Running Windows 10. Log on to Windows as a non-admin User.

I'm sure that existed way back when. Trouble is, I would say channel 10 being (exclusively) used for percussion is pretty rare these days. Also want nested folders. -
Orchestral Tools Mic ld missing!!! SOLVED
Nigel Mackay replied to eric chevrier's topic in Instruments & Effects
I don't remember the exact details as to why, but I gave up with this. A frustrating experience. -
I have spent hours and hours trying to find out if there is a difference. Ultimately, is there one? Using as a combined channel for mixing drums where the specific drums have been separated, processed, and now need a single fader on the console.. Or having different settings for a guitar for verse and chorus (tremelo on/off, reverb on/off) and having them combined on a single fader on the console.

Thanks, everyone. Some interesting info there,

Not sure where else to ask. I have seen comments that side-chaining can be a problem/difficult with VST2. I have also seen comments that VST2.4 means that VST2 is just as good as VSR3. Should I even think about it?

Use a loudness meter. Compare your readings with recorded stuff. Maybe you need compression, maybe you need less quiet/softer bits. Here is a good free one Youlean Loudness Meter
