  1. That actually would please me to no end. 🤣 🤣Ever hear the expression "Karma Always Finds a Way to Ballance Things Out?" 🤣🤣 I've never been one to hold a grudge, if it can be avoided, it isn't necessary, but I guess maybe I'm still bitter that Magix shut down ACIDplanet.com. For no reason, no explanation, and with a very quiet and VERY SHORT very fine print announcement warning. I lost hundreds of tunes and dozens of videos I published there, many of which I have no backups for. I had about 70k+ fans, 1000's of tunes by other artists I really liked that I can no longer get access to, lost contact with many friends and collaborators, and MAGIX Poofed it all out of existence with a simple flick of the switch, NUKING the Planet of ACID. Well in MAGIX's defense they did give us 2 weeks' notice to download and salvage everything we could, but due to very high traffic causing bottlenecks and crashes to their web servers, I for one didn't salvage much, and refused to purchase or upgrade any Sony Software from them. However, after a few years, I did in fact break down and upgrade Sound Forge Pro v10 to v15 and SpectraLayers Pro v4 to v7 both for $100 (us) flash sale. And upgrade Vegas Pro v7 to v18 for $150 (us) I figured I should drop the grudge on that considering I was also upgrading these apps from x32 bit to x64 bit should be an advantage all in itself, better performance, right? Well a RIGHT with Vegas Pro got several updated video codacs added & a noticeable performance boost with x64 version, and better more detailed enhanced acceleration and support for my AMD FirePro graphics card. which curiously, very curiously isn't branded as "Magix" Vegas Pro? 🤔 But with Sound Forge Pro? WRONG! Other than a face change with fancy new GUI grills, several useless bundles of Magix FX I don't want or like added, there are NO IMPROVEMENTS! In fact Sound Forge Pro 10 loads 2x as fast as v15, finds and REMEMBERS where all 3rd party FX plugins all by itself, & v15 DOES NOT! I still have Sony's ACID Pro 7 for access to archived projects and CD & DVD Architect 5 up and running on my computer. Contrary to popular beliefs, I sell quite a significant bit more CD's at live concerts then download cards or USB drives. Why? Because we typically make more money selling "Merch" playing live venues then we will get from a bar, cafe, or outdoor festivals or whatever. CD's and Tee-shirts sell, download cards or USB drives DON'T. Only the Kiddies want them, but the kiddies have an unusually warped sense of entitlement. Kiddies don't believe in having to be paying for the quality, or for paying for anything or supporting their favorite artists, the kiddies want muzac to come out of their cellphones, and they want everything for free. And even curiouser And even curiouser SpectraLayers Pro 7 was branded Steinberg, and no significant improvements or differences in performance than Sony's v4 x32 version. 🤯 7 was branded Steinberg, That was a "Surprise", guess I missed the press release if there even was one, but no significant improvements or differences in performance than Sony's v4 x32 version. However, I don't think Steinberg is very concerned about improving upon that. I'm thinking they are throwing up their hands to all these new free A.I. apps doing the same things all to easily in seconds that takes hours of detailed work to achieve with SpectraLayers Pro 7.
  2. Least we forget that Bandlab has been giving us SONAR Rebranded with EXCELLANT support and very useful and thought-out workflow improvements since they took over back in 2018 FOR FREE. I don't see them taking advantage of us to be much of a problem.. 🤔 Especially considering that CbB will continue to work on your computer unsupported, just like SONAR still continues works on your computer unsupported. SONAR Platinum still works great & extremely STABLE on my computer even though it hasn't been updated since Bandlab took over. I still use SPLAT frequently to open & work on older projects, before saving them to updated revisions in CbB. I have to keep SPLAT on my computer anyway because I have LOTS of GREAT 3rd party plugins registered to it, I PAID for LOTS of extra ProChannel modules & plugins that aren't included in CbB that I really wouldn't want to live without. 👍👍 Rapture Pro is much more stable running in SPLAT, not so much in CbB, but unfortunately it has been discontinued, but that's not too much of a problem because I still have Dimension Pro & Rapture installed and everything else does in fact work great in CbB. That would be a MAJOR PROBLEM for Cubase because they drop support for older software, and no longer support VST2.😵 So if you are a fan of Cubase and Waves™ plugins, you better be keeping an eye out for Waves plugin update/support deals. They are very reasonable and ultimately affordable, more so for us peeps using a free version of CbB.. However, even though I highly recommend doing so, if ya use CbB, you DON'T HAVE TO UPGRADE your Waves™ plugins because just because Waves will no longer support and improve functionality of their FX plugins without paying a nominal service charge, they still guarantee that they will WORK. But they can't guarantee that Steinberg won't allow them to. That being said, I found to be true over and under the course of 30 years or so that Cakewalk has always been approx. at least 30% cheaper than Cubase.... And approximately 50% more stable & POWERFUL, least we forget much more user friendly, what with being backwards compatible, TIMELY SUPPORT, and those little things like being forced to upgrade all your VST, VST2 FX plugins for the new latest & greatest Cubase version release. 😒 Another thing I've curiously observed over the decades is that's always given me fits of the "chuckles" is, Cubase users can always come to the Cakewalk Forums & HERE to the CbB Forums to discuss and find working solutions for Cubase, or any other software for that matter, FASTER and in a very courteous and timely manner from some of the friendliest, knowledgeable Cakewalk power users in any and all tech forums you can find anywhere. OK sure, to be fair, our CbB user forum gets invaded by it's fair ***** clowns who can't tell the difference between a tech site built upon empirical & scientific Audio/MIDI facts and truths are greatly appreciated, compared to a social media website where 'opinions' & 'beliefs' rule the house for 'winning' some kind of 'competition' normal honest peeps never even wanted to get involved in, and facts and truths get so buried under the blur of the sheer numbers of likes & thumbs ups by likeminded 'fans' &'friends' whom most likely don't even, nor ever will, know their real names, personally meet, or actually, in the real world, really like or know each other. 😜 And just so you know, I am NOT a Steinberg or Cubase hater. I still use their SpectraLayers Pro. But I've been using it before they appropriated it from MAGIX who appropriated it from SONY Software Division who actually created it. And I'm a fairly big fan of using Cubasis in my iPhone. It's a lot of fun for about an hour with 2 dynamic mics, about a 1/2 hour using 1 condenser mic requiring phantom power, wired to a battery powered IK Multimedia iRig Pro Duo audio/MIDI interface with it. 😉 👍👍 10-15 minutes using a Universal Audio Volt 476.👎
  3. Doesn't look like a power problem to me. Looks more like your "High Performance 900 hp HEMI Hell Cat" of a computer is stuck in traffic. Doesn't matter how much horsepower you have if there's too many other vehicles ahead of you all trying to get off the same exit ramp from the superhighway. BOTTLENECKS occur when you try to stream 32 lanes of traffic into 2. Freezing MIDI SYNTHS you aren't currently working with as in recording/sequencing/performing tracks. There is absolutely NO reason to keep them online, i.e. reperforming already sequenced parts & constantly sending 100's to 1000'S of MIDI Note, CC (control changes) and PC (program changes) thru the MIDI buss. By adding more MIDI synths to an already congested MIDI buss, you are creating more high traffic "bottlenecks" which causes the DAW to stop the sound engine and simply wait for all the messages to get thru.
  4. Instead of disabling all plugins I would simply freeze tracks. One at a time and see what happens on the meters. It's always a great idea to freeze tracks you're not working on and safeguard against accidental destructive editing as well as free up unnecessary computer processing, as a very simple logical way to pinpoint which plugins on what track and what fx plugin is causing the problems. IF IN FACT it's even an FX problem. Who knows what Windows is doing, what services are running, or virus scanning is going on in the background that could be hogging resources, bloating the Registry and serial buss and making your DAW work harder than it has to?
  5. That usually happens when your "Buffer Size" under "Mixing Latency" pictured below is set too low and or your audio drivers need an update. Don't pay too much attention to the number values in msec the pic below, these are specific to a Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 gen 2. All sound card/interfaces are different, and many work very well and sound fine with no audible artifacts up to around 20-25 msec. Press "P" on your computer keyboard to open the "Preferences" dialog box & select "Driver Settings" (orange) and increase the "Buffer Size" by incrementally a little at a time by clicking on slider (blue) handle and moving it to the right. Then hit the "Apply" button on the bottom and close the dialog box, then hit play & check to see if CPU meter goes down & if clicking & popping goes away. If yes, and you're satisfied and comfortable with recording latency, you're done. If recording latency is too high for comfort, repeat the above process by sliding the Buffer Size as far to the left as you can get without hearing clicks & pops. Sometimes it takes a few tries to get it right.
  6. Oh you have NO problems at all. I love Sony CD Architect v5.2 and v6 👌. They claimed v6 converted/ rendered to .cda faster than v5.2. Maybe is does being measured in a bench test, but there is actually no humanly detectable difference between the two. You can adjust timeline for silence or fade ins/outs between songs, tweak gain & compression per song. You can even right click on any single song, choose "Open in Sound Editor" and it opens it in Sound Forge Pro for editing without even closing & reopening CD-A. Doesn't matter what audio format you drop in that. It will analyze and warn you if there is any problems or inconsistencies before you burn or save an ISO. You can audition and listen to what the .cda file sounds like before you do, so WILL get exact, precise results for what to be expected, and it doesn't get any easier than that. I had always maintained a 100% Burn Rate with CD-A. Even more amazing is a 100% ISO mastering acceptance rate from Disc Makers Inc. 😵 Only reason I didn't mention it is because it's a x32 bit app and I didn't think it was available anymore. But it DOES run on Win 10 Pro, but I'm not sure about Win 11?
  7. Nero Software CD Burner & DVD Burner Software by Roxio
  8. Yes, to ensure your CD with play in a standard CD player it must be formatted for "music" (not "data") & authored 16-bit 44.1 k/Hz. I believe VLC Media Player can be used for authoring CD's. It's free and can read just about any audio/video file & will automatically do all bit depth & sample rate conversions for you. But if you want to customize and get fancy, it'll cost ya. I highly recommend using "Nero" for burning & authoring CD's. It also covers DVD & Blueray discs and eye pop'in artwork insert/sleave design.

Thanks so much Larry! I have always been a die hard fan from day one since I was a kid in the early/mid 60's and heard him play a bicycle on the Steve Allen Show. NOBODY knew what to make of that, including Steve Allen himself...😝 I can't say that I like all his music, I can't say that I even like all of my own.. But I was HOOKED! 😍 And yeah, it is an enormous amount of work, in every aspect of paying attention to detail in sequencing, performing, mixing, and above all hardest.... Saying NO to weeds, drugs, alcohol, soda pop, even coffee, and ANY & ALL DISTRACTIONS whilst working on music and any type of recording equipment and software if you really want to "Know" & understand what the Hell is going on.. Of course, AFTER a recording session is over, all those rules can be suspended, dissolve, and go up in a puff of smoke. I DO HONESTY BELIEVE that it is very important to know and understand the rules.. And once ya do... The you'll know and understand exactly how to survive intact when ya BREAK THEM! 👍👍👌✌

Thanks all so much, but I can assure you that this was no "overnight sensation". It took me 3 computer/workstation upgrades and literally YEARS of pouring over the score, many hours of finger blistering exercise and all too many times of wanting to 'pitch a fit' and throw my Strat and or MIDI keyboard controllers across the room in frustration and the mind numbing will to finish what I started and NOT GIVE UP.

One of the top priorities of my #1 "Bucket List" is to complete tribute album to one of my all-time favorite artists & ultimate inspirations Frank Zappa. Yeah I know, his music isn't for everybody and falls smack dab in the fringes in far end edges of the catagory of "acquired tastes", but I simple LOVE IT, and I find the challenges of even coming relatively close to understanding how to play/perform it keeps my "chops" up and helps keep me young and alive. My original goal was to get a band together to play this stuff with me, but I gave up trying to do that over about 20 years ago, because I had such a hard time finding likeminded musicians with the resolve that could, or even willing to even try that weren't already working, without paying them exorbitant sums of money it would take to get them to leave the KILLA BANDS they were already employed in. So, never being one to not finish what I started, instead of giving up, I decided, no matter how long it takes me, I WILL GET IT DONE even if I have to play/perform all the parts and tracks myself. . Sooooo..... 25-30 years later, give or take about 15, I decided to start laying down tracks in SONAR.. And then "Cakewalk by Bandlab", and now.... I've been exporting from CbB and mixing tracks and stems in Bandlab Studio, and getting VERY GOOD results. 😵 As in this latest session of ZoMbiE WooF't Over the years I've managed to keep a forward-thinking 'young' attitude towards new technology, learning what it does and why, as well how to use and apply it, and making progress in compiling a growing and an ever expanding and refining collections of my favorite Zappa tunes. But still, not quite up to the highest bar, and not enough for a 2 album set, but still good enough to keep me go'in, keeps my chops up, and "Keep me Young", which is ALWAYS A GOOD THANG considering I believe I'm going to need another 225-to 275 years to complete this "Bucket List" 😂🤣✌ https://www.bandlab.com/band/band6873043074588134/zombie-woof-94a6338b-fbf68785
  12. Where would we be without a sense of humor? Well I for one would prolly get in less trouble with those that don't, but what's the fun in that?😆 But on a serious note, I know little to nothing about CCC as I had problems with it years ago straight outta the box from the get-go. I don't like these automatic install and update one size fits all apps. 2sd thing I didn't like is how filled up my HD space with multiple installation versions of software without cleaning up after itself. Bandlab updater does the sme thing. It leaves all older versions of CbB in the folder and just stacks and the latest version on top. I am a fan of storing installation files on very easily accessible library of DVD's and now since they've become so inexpensive, even easier accessibility of dedicated storage SSD's so I don't have to go log in and find and wrestle to download them from the internet. I had a real bitch of a time with an automatic iZotope assisted install of Ozone 10 that seemed to go sour. The installer said it was successful, TWICE but Sound Forge Pro which usually picks up on any new FX added right away when it starts didn't see it, nor could find it after a manual scan. Most times I can figure these problems out myself, but not this time, because I couldn't even FIND Ozone 10 anywhere it should be in Program Files. So after running out of ideas and patience I opted for iZotope's support which resulted in more impatience after about 1/2 hour to 45 min. of reading thru pages and pages of menu's of FAQ's I opted out for tech support via chat, which turned out to be Chat-AI so it took me another 10 min or so to get it to send me email linking me to live chat at it's earliest convenience. Which do to an overwhelming high volume of disgruntled Ozone users, took about a week to COMMUNICATE WITH a HUMAN.. Who, after about one minute said; Oh, Ozone 10 isn't a standalone app anymore, it's no longer in any iZoptope folder in "Program Files", now it's listed in the "Windows Common Users" folder as a VST3 plugin. 🤯 Gee, why didn't Sound Forge Pro or I think of looking there? How come iZotope's Chat AI didn't think of mentioning it after I specfically typed in "WHERE THE FAQ IS OZONE 10 INSTALLED ON MY FAQ'IN WINDOWS PRO 10 FAQ'IN COMPUTER??? 👿😒😡🤮 Well the Chat AI didn't see the humor in that, and so it just replied with a "Goodbye", but the human though it was hilarious and immediately gave me a link to download Ozone 10 for my library collection(s) so I'll never have to go back and bitchslap the FAQ'in Wits out of iZotope's Chat-AI again. Which is really OK by me because it really isn't as fun as it may have seemed here. And as far as Ozone 10's new AI assisted auto mastering tech is concerned, I don't see and hear where it's markedly better or superior to Ozone 9's auto mastering assistant to warrant the price of upgrading. It's like comparing apple's to oranges. They BOTH do a very good job of getting you over the finish line, but there's always room for the improvements and polishing of a human touch. 👌 There are a plethora of things that can cause project glitches caused by both or either hardware, software. And being we all have different computers with different CPU's, memory, software, hardware, and configurations can really gum up the process of giving and asking for advice. All we could really do in that respect here is brainstorm ideas to try to give possible solutions that no one in the thread mentioned that could "generally" cause the problem(s). No answer or solution is ever carved in stone, and when approaching troubleshooting breath in, breath out, clear the brain pan and never start by LOOK FOR ANY ONE SPECIFIC PROBLEM or EVER ASSUME or BELIEVE ANYTHING IS THE PROBLEM until you dive in with research, pen & note pad, and all tools needed to for proceeding in logical steps & don't stop trouble shooting until you stumble upon empirical proof that you NAILED IT!👍 First easy solution, If you have and are using your favorite most beloved "MIDI Keyboard Controller", especially one with any type of "easy auto mapping software" unplug it's USB cable and see if that solves your glitch. If it does, then you most likely need a software and or Firmware update for your keyboard controller. If you already have the latest versions and the manufacturer dropped support for it 5-10 years ago don't use it, use Cakewalk's ACT instead, and to avoid serious conflicts and weird stuff from happening DON'T EVER try to use BOTH in the same project at the same time. As much as I love my Novation Impulse 61 Keyboard Controller I loath Novation's AutoMap, which has unexpectedly all on it's own reconfigured my MIDI Device Settings order in Cakewalk more than once placing itself at the top of this list and knocking out fader and knob DAW controls my Behringer X Touch.. when Cakewalk revamped and refined Mackie MCU DAW Controller "protocol". It has resigned knobs I manually mapped for Waves, Focusrite, and Universal Audio FX plugins. Thank God I learned decades ago when this weird stuff started happening with my Edirol PCR 500 keyboard controller to store & back up my MIDI Maps in a special folder location(s) in Documents instead of just the DAW. And it's not just Novation and Edirol MIDI Controllers, in fact I've had WORSE problems with the M-Audio Oxygen I replaced the outdated PCR. Novation has been by far the best, the most expensive, advanced machine learning and smartest auto map for Reason, but it still makes mistakes and decisions I don't love at all, and that's why it shall forever be disabled in Cakewalk. Second FREEZE ALL other MIDI synths running in the project that you aren't working on and MUTE all their associated MIDI channels. Third, make sure the Rapture's MIDI track "Input" channel is selected to NONE and "Echo Input" button is OFF. If any of that solves your problem freeze the Rapture before unfreezing any other MIDI SYNTH to make any further edits or adjustments and have a nice day and happy recording session. Being Rapture is playing up to a certain point on the timeline before it craps out is a good "indication" the problem isn't Rapture, but with MIDI communications in 2 basic formats "Format O" has a parameter spec ranging from 0-127 and "Format 1" has a range from 1-128. SO... IF the MIDI TRACK was sequenced and imported from another synth and or DAW..... It is "possible" that simply changing the format of the MIDI track playing the Rapture could be the solution. Not all MIDI synths share and or respond in the same language, parameter values, and codes when it comes to PC (program changes) control the sound of the Voice or Patch, CC (control changes) determine how the synth reacts in terms of volume, velocity, modulation, oscillation, and FX effect and timing, specifically "Defined" as RPN's (registered parameter numbers) typically used by all MIDI synths, and NRPN's ( non-registered parameter numbers) written & defined by the manufacturer for the specific synth. If you like to use multiple synths from multiple vendors always assign them to their respective MIDI CHANNELS 1-16 and avoid using "omni" inputs. So IF YOU OR KNOW WHO played/performed the Rapture track in this Cakewalk project with the Rapture, then you don't need to worry about any of that stuff. But if you originally used a different synth or somebody else's prerecorded/sequenced MIDI track you do. Most of the time, the synth will ignore any PC or CC parameter message it doesn't understand, but not always, especially when the PC or CC parameter numbers are assigned to different tasks or functions. And the only way to know what they are or do is to have the "MIDI Implementation Charts" for the specific synths. All MIDI communications and commands can be found by opening Cakewalk's "MIDI Event List" Window for any track. Have your Rapture MIDI implementation chart handy, scroll out on the timeline to where the problem occurs, and you should easily find a PC or CC message error should you have one. OR do the easiest lazy man's thang and SCRAP THIS TURD and start from scratch. And hope it doesn't happen again. ✌
  13. OK User 905133 (if that's even your real name), but did you CHECK to make SURE it's none of those issues or just assuming it isn't because Rapture ran fine on your Windows 98SE laptop? (Assuming you were even born yet?) I've been using Rapture since it came out somewhere around 30 years ago before Cakewalk could even record audio reliably on an Intel P3 powered Dell laptop and never had issues with it. And EVERYTHING I've ever purchased from Cakewalk with the exceptions of the original DOS and Pro Audio versions (since 12 Tones Corp. sold Cakewalk to Roland Corp.) But everything from SONAR 1 to date is listed for download with activation codes for older software released before automatic internet registration, and S/N's. Back in the days before automatic internet registration, users could install Rapture on as many computers as we wanted, and 12 Tones and Roland trusted us not to share the act codes and SN's that were printed on the boxed set it with other users. And when we registered our software by either snail mail or internet we used to "promise" them we wouldn't in the finer print of the users contract. Emphasis on "USER", because we don't actually "OWN" the software, we only own the "right" to use it. Only ONE PERSON can register the activation codes and serial numbers in their name and account. Soooo...... Apparently you are a VERY BUSY guy...... Or Girl...... But.....When ya get some time... Mayhap you should try to track down who registered Rapture and ask him or her if they will download a copy for ya? 😉 Rapture itself doesn't need use a lot of resources, but it can send a tsunami stream of MIDI note/PC/CC messages thru the buss, and depending on how many other synths, audio plugins, and tracks are running, just may be the straw that breaks the DAW's back? Does any CPU core on Cakewalk's Performance Meter spike out & or HD or memory meter glow red when it happens? Or maybe it's Window's Updates or any other virus protection updates uploading in the background, hogging cashe & RAM waiting for you to "Restart". It really doesn't matter how much computer resources you have on hand if something related or not is hogging any one of them in the background, something is gonna glitch and go sideways. And as JnTuneTech pointed out above cause "just a bad unrelated project glitch."
  14. Doesn't crash at the "same point in the song"? Waitaminutenow.. Sounds like Rapture is in fact installed & running. 🤔 I don't think your problem is with Rapture, I'm thinking you're running out of computer resources, (CPU, buss, system memory) and mayhap you are trying to run a DAW project your computer can't handle?

    Program Me

Very COOL Ross! Might I suggest using and trying Bandlab's mastering using the "Clarity" preset or "Fire" preset for the Bandlab stream? It only effects the .MP4 streaming version and is nondestructive editing to the original sound file so it can be changed or switched back to its original state.
  16. Forget about Realtek unless you are trying to record from your Realtek "chipset". It appears your VOX ASIO drivers are corrupted. Try reinstalling them or better yet.. MANUALLY go to & LOGIN & Check for drivers updates directly from the "VOX" website.
  17. Wow that's quite a computer you got there buddy! And 128 GIG OF RAM!😵 I have the FirePro W 7100 which has the same GPU & specs as this Radeon Pro WX and LOVE IT! 👍👍 I believe the only difference is FirePro's ships with a different driver package designed to support tweaking for DCC (digital content creation) and Radeon Pro leans more towards gaming. Both are extremely powerful and extremely quiet, and "vividly" support Cakewalk's enhanced graphics. 👍👍👌🏻 Also I think it's important to note that the AMD "W" series graphics cards were released in 2016 which means it's PCIe v3, so are getting considered "dated" by gamers now that PCIe v4 has been released. However, being it's most likely humanly impossible for us non-gamers to tell the difference, I believe this is a GREAT VALUE @ approx 50% OFF

    Waves Magma BB Tubes

Thanks much for kind and insightful words Grem, and yes I agree, the hihat is way too loud, almost annoyingly so, I chalk that off to ear fatigue caused by working too long with closed back headcans.. Sony 7506's to be precise, which have GREAT isolation and nice frequency response for recording/tracking, but so freak'in horrible for mixing I have a personal studio law that prohibits me from doing any mixing on a project on the same day of the recording session. 🚫 This is a RAW multi-track recording session and I was using the hihat as my primary meter/click while performing and built all the rest around it. But this project is uploaded into "Bandlab Studio" with each part mixed to stems tracks. Bandlab Studio has a pretty impressive array of FX plugins with plenty of 'presets' which are very much like CbB's ProChannel providing all the basic tools needed for smoothing out a mix, mute/delete/replace/add to, and or correcting things like this. This isn't even close to being finished and early version 1 OPEN JAM that ANYONE with a Bandlab account can join.. Including real "drummers" 🥁 and I wouldn't be in the least offended if someone who can perform/record drums better than me deleted and replaced my drums or any other tracks in this jam. In fact, I'd be delighted! I'm actually primarily a guitarist who learned to take advantage of all that MIDI has to offer starting back in the early 80's, starting with a Roland TR-606 drum machine, MC-500 sequencer and Casio CZ 1000 synth for everything else MIDI. These days I use CbB of course, An Alesis Sample Pad Pro as a MIDI controller to play/performances with XLN Audio's Addictive Drums v1 & v2 for drums tracks, and a Novation Impulse 61 MIDI Keyboard Controller to perform/play any and all other synths/samplers. ( and pssst, sometimes I 'cheat' use a Fishman Triple Play MIDI guitar controller to perform heavy riffage and solos for stuff I'm not NEARLY proficient enough to play on piano style keyboard.) Hey, Im a GUITARIST, and I'm not in the least bit ashamed to admit that I can NOT keep up with Chick Corea on a Rhodes piano. 😆
  19. Well so much for my New Years Resolution to NOT purchase any more plugins this year. 😂 Silly me, I should have put Waves™ on my "Block Sender" list, because when I got an email for this new plugin for $29 flash sale my original thought was that it was just more of the same of what I already have, and it kinda is if I stack up a rather complex ProChannel & FX chain, but this makes life so much easier, sooo. But alas, it does MORE and does unexpected things making it more better, with more choices all in one GUI and more easier compare and experiment with things like..... What would my Guild D-25 sound like by adding the sound of a transformer to my beloved Audio Technica AT 4050 lg diaphragm condenser mic? 🤔 well it's all so easy to find out with the flip of a switch (lower left-hand corner) I think AT 4050 sounds great with a transformer, but I like it better in it's natural state without a transformer😉, but... maybe not always, it's like comparing apples to oranges. As simple as it looks it's extremely flexible, easy on the CPU, and not only works great on tracks & busses, it's so easy to dial in to the sweet spot on ANY source. And I've always found that "New Toys bring New Inspirations" and find that inspiring enough to painfully record to put it thru the paces with work'in on my chops blowing off steam with a playful Tribute to Chick Corea. Chick's Two Kids
  20. Ah HAA! Thanks scook, I could not for the life of me remember if this was bundled with Sound Forge or SONAR. '''💡'''
  21. Clever indeed to say the least, but I've always found changing both speed and pitch is a 2-step process to get anything even close to what is desired, and both of these processes take an enormous amount of processing power for any CPU. 1st, change speed/tempo, then "SAVE" 2sd, work on pitch in 1/2 tone resolution for the best realistic/authentic results use 1.) Melodyne👍👍 👌🏻 2.)WavesTune👍👍, 3.) AutoTune👍, 4.) elastique', 🆗 or whatever you can get your hands on that you can dial in pitch🙆‍♂️ & formant🙆‍♀️, then FREEZE TRACKS!😐 3rd, keep your expectations on the low down, learn to settle for what you get as "acceptable" because if you expect perfection, you will always, without a doubt, be sorely disappointed. "Close" is the operative word here because any time you do either it has an impact on sound quality which is at best OK for the "close enough for rock & roll" mindset but for everything else, specifically exacting results, it typically has much less than ideal results. Good Luck & Happy Recording/Sequencing/Music Creation.
  22. If you have 12" (30.5 cm) to spare in your computer's case I recommend AMD FirePro graphics cards made by AMD because of their extreme/critical only one tear of quality control, and their ability to be configured to process video independently from the computer's CPU and RAM resources for little to no impact. Yeah, that makes them a tad large in size, and a bit costly upfront investment, but they last a LOOOOONG TIME. Since 2011 starting with a V-4900 PCIe v2/ OpenGL v2 I used as primary workstation workhorse for 8 YEARS, & currently running a W4100 PCIe v3/ OpenGL v4 going on 4 YEARS of glitch & trouble-free high performance being pushed to the punishing limits (just under system crashes) starting with Sony Vegas Pro 4 up to the current Magix Vegas Pro 18 NLE's. I have only had upgraded 2 FirePro graphics cards for what turned out to be relatively small advantages using newer video FX plugin support and slightly faster video rendering Vegas Pro 18 NLE. Other than that, the 12 old V-4900 still works & runs GREAT on legacy drivers, and even though it wasn't built for gaming, the FirePro V4900 can STILL RUN 24% of the top 10,000 PC games. It will also run 11% of these games at the recommended or best experience levels. Now I'm not comparing AMD to nVidea, I'm stating what AMD can do from personal experiences, and focusing on "you get what you pay for". I've probably pulled at least as many fried Radeon based graphics cards as I did G Force for abusive friends and family. 😆 AMD FirePro's aren't rated, or bench tested for gamers, and their drivers are specifically designed for tweaking performance to your needs and tuning your workstation for DCC (digital content creators). You can even configure it plug a thunderbolt audio interface into one of the FirePro's DisplayPorts and it will bypass the AMD audio drivers run completely independently in it's own PCI buss. I have tried this with my UA Apollo I use with my Mac for Pro Tools, but it really doesn't do any better than my Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 does for CbB where the AMD audio drivers are disabled. But the Apollo's onboard FX really shine on the Mac and helps considerably. Only thing the FirePro does for CbB is make it look prettier. All audio it processed thru the Focusrite's dedicated ASIO drivers smoothly @ a respectably ultra stable 6 ms latency @ industry standard 24 bit/48k/Hz with a very comfortable "set it and forget about it "128 buffer size. I can set latency to .06 ms, but have yet to find any "Practical" reason other than bragging rights to do so. It didn't "sound" any "better" AND it made CPU work 20-25% harder then it had to..🤔 That's like recording @ 24bit/192 k/Hz. Which I did try once just to see if I could do it. I could, it happened, but I wasn't impressed, nor was anyone else so there was no appreciable reason to do it again. On the contrary, it proved to be a HUGE waste of time and hard drive space. A "just because ya can doesn't mean ya should" Apiffany. 😉 I do NOT recommend FirePro graphics cards made "by" or "for" 3rd party vendors because they are typically only using FirePro GPU and building their own graphics cards around it. Some are good and quality conscience; some are bad and choose cut corners for profit margin over quality components. Same thing happens with nVidea G Force (gamer) & Quadro (DCC) GPU based graphics cards, blah, blah, blah, rada, rada, if it's not mounted to an nVidea chassis, it's a crap shoot. . OK that being said, your newfound latency problem may not even be being caused by your graphics card. I would unplug the Samsung 4K TV and see if that solves the latency problem. Televisions tend to use 4K "i "(interlace) technology to UP sample video to "look like" or appear to be 4K and use variable refresh rates running somewhere between 30 h/z- 60 h/z depending on original video quality. Everything looks "Good" or more accurately, close to the "same" quality. Computer monitors are typically 4K "p" (pixel) and lock into whatever refresh rate speed they are capable of. Typically, in a sample rate solid, steady range of 60 h/z -120 h/z. With 4Kp unless you choose to auto correct, You SEE whatever quality you get without corrections. Unless you "force" your Samsung into a steady frequency range synced to the speed of the computer monitors you are creating a LOT of EXTRA HEAVY LIFTING processing WORK on any computer's CPU and graphics card GPU will experience glitching & latency issues. OR MAYBE.... The problems is with WINDOWS annoying habit of occasionally deciding what's best for you.. 🤔 Have you checked for driver updates for your graphics card recently from nVidea? Don't rely on Windows "Device Manager" or Windows Update to do this for you. Either get a credible driver updater utility app or report to the nVidea Mothership yourself. Both are a lot cheaper than throwing new parts you don't need at your computer and hoping you hit the right target. Is Windows configured for high performance? You can check to see if it is in Windows Control Panel> Hardware & Sound>Power Options. You REALLY want to make sure it is running multiple monitors with DAW's & NLE's, processing HUGE 4K video. I've actually had this setting default back to "Balanced" with Windows Updates, and that can impact accelerated GPU performance by balancing and splitting processing tasks with computer resources.
  23. Hmm, I'm pretty sure the Gigabyte UD with PCIe 3 is designed for 8th- 9th gen i7, and don't think this mobo supports older Gen 6 i7, or vice versa.. ⁉⁉⁉. I'm not sure though, I've never had much luck with quality or longevity with Gigabyte. However, once you get past the setup quirks and stuff that come with any new and or Nuused/repurposed computer builds, I can't remember EVER having an ASRock build fail, and shortly after building my 1st AMD FX 8300 running Window 7 in x64 machine, I did some pretty insane utterly STUPID overclocking "crash test dummy" stunts with an AMD Phenom II 965 4 core Black Edition, which did not crack. But Windows XP did. XP became very unstable at around 4.6 g/hz😆 I still have that old beast, with no overclocking of course, it's native 3.5 g/Hz really is FAST enough with Win 7 x64 installed, but that old, old, OLD ASRock mobo only supports a whopping 4 gigs of RAM (which was monumental at the time) is bare minimum today. Although I haven't used it in at least a decade I'd be willing to bet it'll fire right up and run if the old Western Digital VelociRaptor 10k RPM hard drive spins up. However, after carefully reading thru this thread, and having similar various difficulties with sparking up ASRock builds, particularly with older UEFI BIOS Secure Boot v1 chips made before 2018, and the VERY unfortunate power hit targeting hyperthreading side effects from Intel's patch forced by the introduction of the "Meltdown Exploit" which led to another level of Intel Hell temporary slowed down by a deeper level of security of the introduction of the "SecureBoot" chip v 1, which now, in case you didn't notice yet, Microsoft deepened security a little deeper to drop support of v1, and will only allow upgrades from Windows v10 to v11 if we have the newer and yet to be determined better "SecureBoot" chip v2 installed on our mobos. Before starting make sure you have all the motherboards systems drivers handly on a CD or USB 2 stick. OR simply plug an internet cable into it,, I have no idea if the following applies to Gigabyte silicon, but I have had success getting into BIOS with building/rebuilding ASRock motherboards without them quitting before getting started.. HOPEFULLY, but not always, just by connecting a CAT 5 cable before hitting the start button, it will automatically connect and report to the ASRock "Mothership" shortly after hitting the power button and check & install the latest BIOS version if need be and system drivers, all to basic most likely to succeed default settings. Just follow the on-screen instructions. (This auto method will not work behind a Netgear of Linksys or any hardware "Internet Firewall".) 1.) You "must" have a mouse and keyboard plugged into their dedicated USB ports. The Fatal1ty has is own patented "Key Master" technology that controls and finetunes the mouse and keyboard. and they are the 1st thing the BIOS looks for before starting. 2.) You "must" have a SSD or hard drive installed and plugged into a SATA or SATA supported M2 slot. That is where the UEFI BIOS is or will be stored on it's own patrician before proceeding. 3.) You "must" have a Graphics card installed in a slot that doesn't share a PCI buss with anything else.. And this is VERY IMPORTANT. M2 slots (#) and corresponding PCIe slot # share the same port to the PCI buss, so you CANNOT PLUG & run an SSD in M2 slot 1 and your graphics card plugged into PCIe slot 1 at the same time. I recommend leaving the M2 SSD in the 1st slot, and plugging the graphics card in the last PCIe slot. 4.) At least 1 stick of memory in slot 2 to run in single chan. mode, or slots 2 and 4 for duel chan mode of "Matched Pairs" of EXACTLY the same speed & size of high quality HIGH PERFORMACE RAM. I highly recommend going to the ASRock website and only using "approved" memory for the Fatal1ty . It is the BIOS's job to make find and make sure all components and peripherals are connected to even be a computer, If it can't find ANY of the above components hooked up properly, it will not run the BIOS and simply shut down. GOOD LUCK! 🍀
  24. 😂😍 THOUGHLY ENJOYABLE! Inspiring job by all, had me dancing around the room! 🤣
