  1. I keep hearing how Physion gets great sales so I don't want to pay list for it. However, it seems Eventide is one of the few not running any big sales right now.
  2. FWIW I tried all the tricks multiple times - the ads always come back.
  3. Just a word of caution - I've never had a program installed that spammed me so much. Corel installs a desktop notification system to show you ads, and you can't turn it off. I used to be a big fan but I won't buy another of their products at any price.
  4. There was an error in their download script. I got a prompt reply and a download link.
  5. I ordered it - does it typically take them long to send a download link?
  6. I picked this up - looks like fun.
  7. Thanks for the tip - I'll jump on it if I see that price in the future!
  8. I've been watching videos on this and it does look like something I'd be interested in. Not at list price though!
  9. I've watched videos but I haven't "grocked it"; I'm not sure I'd know what to do with it.
  10. I didn't get excited by Micropitch as I feel that's covered by my Sountoys, and Rotary didn't tempt me because I have Melda's vintage rotary. Even with the Crystalizer from Soundtoys - this does still pique my curiosity and I will demo it.
  11. That pretty much clinches it for me. I have a beefy system and I love the stability of S1 - I don't want to go backwards in that department. Ah well, maybe I should pick up the CTC-1 console shaper and have some fun. What I REALLY should do is track all these acoustic parts I've written for a new song. Or maybe finish this mix before I can't stand hearing it. Or maybe buy another toy....
  12. Thanks Ed - this helps! I have to admit that I have no specific reason for wanting to try Pro Tools other than I have never used it before. I suspect my time would be better spent just using Studio One. That said, I can see myself getting into those expensive control surfaces in the future when I build my next studio. I suspect I'm a good 6+ years out from that though. When it happens, I'll see you in Florida!
  13. I appreciate your perspective, thanks! I consider myself an expert on Sonar and I've used Cakewalk software since the mid 90s. I only left during the sale debacle which led me to Studio One. I found Studio One to be far more stable than Sonar was, and the integration with Faderport 16 is top notch. I still have a special place in my heart for Sonar and I defend it has having many innovative features before any competitors. I pull up old projects in it, but I don't use it for new ones.
  14. I've spent the last few months digesting all sorts of training videos (the Mix with the Masters are amazing) and of course, everyone in the videos uses Pro Tools. I use Ableton for composing and Studio One for mixing, and on paper it seems like Pro Tools would be a step backwards from Studio One. That said, I find it appealing to use the tool that I see used all the time by the professionals in their training videos and feel like I might be missing out on something. I've had a one year subscription in my cart a few times but just can't convince myself to pull the trigger. thoughts?
  15. Thanks mibby - I had read that one when I considered this in the past. I've played around with the stock version that comes with S1 but the Pro version intrigues me. I've tried Slate VCC and Waves NLS and never used either in a project. I love the idea of real crosstalk, but it just feels like yet another gimmick to be sidetracked by. I'm really liking my current mixing setup and 2bus chain and always want to improve, but I also want to back away from chasing unicorns.
  16. I wish I could find reviews on the Pro version of this.
  17. I have been devouring the Mix with the Masters videos the last few months and they are worth every single penny. Specifically, the amount of knowledge I've gained from CLA alone was worth the price. Last week I paid extra and got a 7 hour webinar with CLA and only 15 other participants. He taught us a ton and worked hard to make sure we enjoyed it. He also critiqued a mix of each of ours - that was FANTASTIC! Anyway, if you've got some time on your hands and want to up your mixing game, I recommend this site 100%!
  18. In fact, here's a screenshot from the session with Noah running Pro Tools. Enjoy! If you get a chance to go - DO IT! Alan is a living legend and a total gentleman. In fact, everyone involved with his program was fantastic.
  19. It was the 140. His assistant Noel said they were super-impressed by the Abbey Roads chambers. They were using that primarily on drums, and using the Capital Chambers and EMT on other instruments.
  20. I did a Mix with the Masters back in October with Alan Parsons for two days. The reverbs he used were Capital Chambers, UAD EMT, and Waves Abbey Roads Chambers.
