  1. Geez, not even an 'installed!' by whoever used it...
  2. I don't have that much experience, although I have built my own rudimentory acoustic panels for my home studio, but the problem that you are trying to resolve is not done using acoustic panels. Acoustic panels help in removing echo in a room and achieve a better frequency response. But what you are looking for is sound isolation or soundproofing, which is achieved using different means. For your application, you probably need both since you will be recording and mixing in that room. Of course acoustic panels will offer some minimal soundproofing since they reduce echo and add some mass to the wall. But that is minimal. Here is a little info on soundproofing on YouTube. And https://youtu.be/dCvHilRUP4Q?si=zcpZyhgD83FGd4uh The guy has a great guitar on the thumbnail on this one! 😁
  3. Am I wrong to just believe that the bakers will simply post on this forum when it is available and give us all the details on how to install it? I just don't need to worry anymore than read this forum like I always do and I am confident I will be informed. Noel and others have always communicated effectively through this forum when new stuff is available.
  4. It went smootly for me. After wupping, Omni 2 was available through Waves Central.
  5. I have non WUP v13 of the Omni. Seems to me that $13.41 to upgrade to V2 through WUP is quite reasonable.
  6. OK I fixed it with a complete shutdown and restart. I had done a few restarts but it evidently was not enough. A complete shutdown, wait a minute and restart seems to have done the trick. It work ok now.
  7. I just rebooted my PC and I got the updating screen from Windows which means an update was installed. Now when I start Cakewalk and load a project, even just starting the basic project, the cursor is always going to the wait round cursor. I cannot do anything in Cakewalk, the UI is unresponsive. Using task manager I can see that that Cakewalk has the mention 'Not responding' next to it and there is an application called crashpad_handler.exe with it. Is this a known problem? Any insight on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.
  8. Ya, I should read more carefully before jumping on the link for free stuff! 🤪
  9. I don't think they announced it in the video. They pinned and announced it in the chat, but yes, if anyone had the video full screen they could easily have miss it. ☹️
  10. Yep, Parsons made me go, not the bundle. But the bundle thing kinda ruined it a bit with all the stupid hoopla in the chat. Distracting. I should have turned it off. Hopefully it will be available to watch again. Who thought a giveaway was needed to get people to come listen to this legend!?!?!
  11. That is quite a deal for getting 70 excellent plugins! Never seen it so low.
  12. I just wanted to update this thread with new info. First I contacted SSL, they are aware of the problem and are working to resolve it. Second I just noticed that there was an update to the SSL Native Channel Strip 2. Thanks to another thread here giving info of an SSL download manager I saw that there was an update for that plugin. I installed the new version, 2.2.7, and the problem described in the OP is fixed in this new version compared to the previous version 2.1.8. 👍 Bus Compressor 2 still has the problem unfortunately. Hopefully they will update all their plugins as well in the near future. 🤞
  13. I was just giving a recipe for something I do with Relay, not trying to contradict your original post or respond to it. Its just one usage you can do with Relay, which is actually part of what it is designed for. Unmasking is one of the reason Relay exist and it is part of the inter plugin communication between Nectar, Neutron and Relay. I would be curious to know which DAW offers this functionnality with stock plugins?
  14. Relay can also be used as a quick dynamic track spacer to let the vocal poke through. Even if you are not using Nectar or Neutron as your effect chain. I use whatever plugin in my vocal effect chain I like I put an instance of relay on whatever instrument track or bus, I want to attenuate when the vocal is present I put Nectar last on the vocal track and run the unmask assistant with the target relay instance I have. There can be more than one and you simply run the assitant as many times as needed for all the instances of relay you have. Then I remove Nectar. Next, you create sends from the vocal track, or bus, to each of the relay's sidechain input. Switch all relays to sidechan and dynamic. You can also tweak the relays compression to your liking. You can even do the same between kick and bass guitar to duck the bass on kick hits. Nectar is easiest to setup but with little control. Neutron can be used in a similar way for more precise control since it as more functionnality to carve the overlapping frequencies, but it's more work.
  15. But what cpu are you running it on? The power of your PC is what makes the most difference here, the rest may help, but if the DAW's machine is not powerfull enough (new enough), you will get crackel.
  16. I just spent an hour trying to create a minimal project to show the problem and was unable to. I made a one track test using one of my project, removing everything except one vocal track and the reverb bus. I can reproduce the problem, but when I try to remove other effect plugin on the bus and vocal track to make it leaner, the problem disappears! The last test I did is one with only the plugins on the vocal track disabled and every other plugin still in place on busses, and the problem disappears. I tried removing one plugin at a time on the vocal track in an attempt to figure if it is one in particular that causes this effect but with no luck yet. But, since I caught my wife searching on the internet for mental institution in our area 😲, I believe it is time to move on for now. I may do some more test in the future, at least try again to use the plugin in other projects but keep an eye for the problem in export. epicPlate is a good compromise to fall back on. For what it is worth, I seem to have more problem reproducing the problem using the new 1.6 version of the plugin. But it may be just me having spent waaaay too much time on this and loosing perspective.
  17. @Misha Yes, Lurssen is very cpu hungry. I also have made it known to IK a couple of years ago, but nothing has been done to fix this. The solution I use, is I have reverted to version 1.0.3. It is the version just before the last. This helps a lot cpu wise and still works ok as far as I can tell. You can find more info in this thread:
  18. Since I always export in both wav and mp3 though, it saves me time to create 2 export tasks and having them run in one pass.
  19. Yes, as far as I can tell, but of course I haven't tried every reverb. Here is the latest test I did after reading your post. In my project I now have both epicPlate and Rev-140 on my reverb bus. First I disable Rev-140 and enable epicPlate. After an export the reverb level stays the same. Then I enable Rev-140 and disable epicPlate. After an export the reverb level drops. EDIT: Just did one more thing: If after the last test, when the level has dropped, without doing any more export just playback, I switch which plugin is enabled I get these results: With epicPlate the level is always correct. With Rev-140 the level is always dropped This means that the drop in volume is probably stored somewhere in the Rev-140 plugin or at least in whatever wrapper code Cakewalk has around plugins.
  20. BTW one pretty close free alternative to PLATE Rev-140 is epicPlate by Variety of Sound.
