Thanks but that method is absolutely ridiculous. No one is expecting CW to be a video editor, just simply render out a small clip of a project with the video included. It says "Export to video" in the file menu, then it should do that.

People that want to do this are not editing video. They are scoring music to picture, and when working on a 2 hour film, constantly going to other programs to do a simple task like this is not something a composer has time for.

Cakewalk's dealing with video has been such a joke.  The folks updating the program should really look at decade old problems rather than redesigning the parts of the program that already work.

"Select all, highlight a region and export to video file" that is how simple it should be.

……. But not necessarily with video. Its been said, CbB is NOT a video editor, so no its not that simple. If i want to edit a video file with soundtrack i use Vegas, not CbB

    YMMV, but …….

Mine is broken on one system.  I get this "well this is awkward".  At least you can download your products from their site.

…… or download the up to date version of IPP from their website and install it over the broken one.

From the Coffee House forum "rules" displayed at the top of the CH forum page....

" This is an inclusive discussion area, intended to promote music-related discussions that do not pertain specifically to Cakewalk software. Users of all experience levels and backgrounds can ask questions and share knowledge"

Locking the thread was ridiculous and it could be argued that action in itself broke the above rule. The further implication that some kind of generous leniency had been employed to prevent the OP from being permanently banned for asking the question is so far beyond ridiculous that I'm not sure any words that wouldn't send the forum software into an asterisk frenzy have yet been invented to describe it.

yes i also know how to read.

So this is a help desk for S1 ?

    ok, fair enough.

ps : i’m closer to you than most - 465km SW of Paris (which is not the be all and centre of France 😜😜😜) ….… pm me in french if you want to go further !

  5. I had piano lessons from 5 to 7 years old. Was taught both to play and theory/notation.  Then i studied classical guitar for a couple of years before changing to electric (circa 1969 - thank you Creedence).

I can still (60 years on) read music, play by ear etc. Read music and notation. I thank my music teachers for all that.

My son played pretty good guitar, but i could never get him to understand that notation or reading music would be beneficial for him.

I’m also for basic music theory/notation in schools (here in France or anywhere, for that matter).

  6. You’re using imported midi file - check in the Event Viewer (if Home Studio 2002 - no comment -  even has one) to make sure no wheel events occur before the notes. If there are, erase them. If it doesn’t, you’ll have to find another way to erase them.

This has got me a few times in the past - midi bass files inEZ Bass.

Thank you Mr. Oakes for your reply.  Do you have experience with a computer/audio floor noise problems?  Did changing the drivers fix it?

I'm asking because I used the same Mackie/firewire converter - with the same Mackie firewire driver - in my older Win 7 computer and that combo was noise-free.   So in my experience, the Mackie firewire driver works just fine in a Win 7 environment.  But I am not using Win 7 anymore.   So I'm wondering if you had a sonic problem that you were able to solve by changing the firewire driver.

Mr JamPro, please note we’re not talking about Mackie drivers here. I’m sure they are rock solid.

Its the MS legacy one. I humbly recommend you try installing this legacy file and see if it makes any difference for you.

FYI, W7 handled FW in a much better way than the current W10 installed one does……….. I have had success with this file/driver.

Its merely a suggestion. You don’t have to at all.

This is why it’s a good idea to go look in the register as scook  has pointed out. He had pointed this out to me a few months ago and sure enough I had the real tech ASIO driver there so I deleted it. Therefore no issues.
If you have any Steinberg software you need to go there and make sure you don’t have that driver as well. Not sure if it is installed with their interfaces. It’s call Steinberg generic ASIO driver

FYI there is a Magix Asio generic driver that gets installed with some of their music products. Fruity Loops does the same thing.

A quick trip in the registry to nuke them takes care of potential issues.

It seems that you have never been frustrated! 😆

In general it makes me sad when I read how people react to someone who is desperate! 😢 Most of the comments above are misplaced IMHO. There is almost no helpful comment in such threads! Where is the helpful, positive spirit that some of you talk about? I cannot identify something like that above! It reminds me more of the Middle Adges when people where calling to cut off the head of the accused! But YMMV!

IMHO constructively written posts get constructively written answers.  This was not the case. YMMV also.

  10. W11 working fine on my laptop (Soundcraft audio device) and on my desk top (Focusrite audio device).

I did however re-install both sets of drivers after the upgrade from W10. I do this also after a major update. Couple of clicks, 2 minutes max and its done.

You don’t give many details about your set up - have you tried re-installing your audio devices latest drivers ?

  11. I always Clone my HDD’s once every 3 weeks so that if one fails i can just insert its clone into my system. Other people  will certainly clone more often. I don’t have to go through re-installation etc.

Try a recovery software (Google, there are freebies out there).

you have Acronis - did you make a start up disk from which you can boot then restore ? If not, you’re knackered.

PS : use punctuation/paras in your posts, its easier to read ! (No offence).
