  1. I don't have an Axe-Fx, but if I understand the signal flow ...

In CbB Audio track 1 has a filter & 2 aux track sends. Aux 1 has MultiCp and GEQ & Aux 2 has Cab and PEQ. The track one sends will be pre and the track fader turned all the way down. This will be true for mix 1 and 2 as well. Create an aux track for the output of aux 1 and set the output of aux 2 to it as well - call it mix 1 and put T-match & chorus on it. Mix 1 has 2 aux track sends - aux 3 & 4, one has Synth and the other has Comp and their outputs go to another aux track - mix 2. Mix 2 has 2 aux track sends - aux 5 & 6 and each has a delay and their outputs go to  another aux track mix 3. Most reverbs have a mix control so I wouldn't bother with putting reverb on a parallel track so, mix 3 has Vol/Pan, Reverb, GEQ and Enhance. On the sends and outputs reduce the volume by 5 db or so.

  2. As an FYI I played around with TH3 a bit and it looks like they want the loudest chord you can play to be 0 dB. At that level I'm running around -2 or -3 dB. If you don't have any vsts on the track what is loudest level you get with that Line 6?

  3. I'm guessing you're writing about Axe IO Solo and not Axe Fx. And you have a separate expression pedal or some kind of foot controller plugged into it? After selecting the Axe i/o as a midi input source in the preferences menu, create a MIDI track and select Axe i/o as the track input and select echo on. Inside AT5 or any vst you're using (in an audio track) select the VST2/3 in the top bar and select Enable MIDI Input. In AT5 you then right click on a knob and select listen and move the expression pedal.

  4. You don't say what you're trying to do. I use a Roland FC-300 foot controller. Connect to the computer with a MIDI IF, in your case an IF cable. In Edit preferences select it under MIDI -> Devices -> Input. Create a MIDI track, select your MIDI IF as the track input and select echo on. The fcb1010 is popular with guitarists. If you have an amp sim on an audio track, say AT5, select the VST2/3 in the top bar and select Enable MIDI Input. In AT5 you then right click on a knob and select listen and move a foot pedal.

And I put my computer in Airplane mode unless I need the internet. It's an odd feature that my other computers don't have.

My DAW is hardwired to the LAN so Airplane mode isn't available. I use wifi on my laptop, but don't record on it. I practice on it and play around but have a quad capture on it.

Just curious. Do you have any of the symptoms I listed above? I assume it’s the driver as neither my Scarlett or my Tascam cause any of these issues

I get the occasional pop, but that's because I'm running on windows and it has background processes running. When I record I disable the network adapter and haven't had any problems. I normally have the IF set at 44 and a buffer size of 96. The M4 works fine into a USB 3 port on an ASUS MB.

  7. I think it can be confusing. The patch numbers are listed as 1-128, but MIDI is Musical Instrument Digital Interface (IIRC). It's a digital bus and the program change message has two bytes, status and data. The data has the program number and the values are specified as 0-127 in a MIDI program change message. So, yeah, it's technical.

Along the same lines MIDI channels are displayed as 1-16, but in the status byte they are represented as 0-15.

  8. Have you looked under instruments? Depending on your layout, on the far right select the Plugins tab and below the Plugins tab select Instruments and mine is under Uncategorized. I don't use Biab as a plugin, but thought I'd check it out...

The DAW plugin is pretty cool.

And you can still bake your own songs, while using BIAB for session backing tracks to jam with, and as an idea generator.

For the most part I use it to create backing tracks to practice and occasionally to try out chord progressions. I like the standalone DAW button that shrinks the UI down, I drag and drop the parts I want into CbB.
