I was pretty frustrated that I could not connect my M-Audio Keystation 61 Mk3 to Cakewalk on  new Surface Pro 7.

Generally a midi keyboard must have a connection with  an audio interface's midi in and the interface midi out is connected to a computer. Asio driver has nothing to do with the previous connection.

Drivers use is for the functionality of hardware, software, plug ins and things like that.

  2. Because many times there is no hidden automation, no hidden track or no hidden note and none whatsoever and because it is a very long trouble for us all,  I expect that Cakewalk bakers give a gift to choose an end point when and where we want.

The plugins run additional delay. It's fairly common depending on the plugin. They require extra time to do their processing, so in this case that latency is giving the plugin time to fix those clicks before you hear it. You can either freeze those tracks to record, or temporarily disable them to get around it.

I don''t think so. Playing Dim Pro previously, before adding RX7, was OK.

After adding RX7 in some FX bin, when playing keyboard with Dim Pro, I hear a delay.

Aftert removing RX7 everything is again all right.

Same exact thing in the case of Adaptive Limiter.

  4. Lately I added a Dim Pro instance to an already recorded song. Playing the keyborad  I could listen to notes with one second delay! Sob!

I have tried numerous attempts to solve the issue, but of no avail.

Finally at last I''ve found that delay was caused by Izotope RX7 De - Click.

In another song the same issue, but this time was caused by the use of  Adactive Limiter on a bus.

Why those issues happened? Maybe the last november updates?

I can't understand why that happened.

  5. I think that normalize is not  the real tool to use.

As you can read in the "Mastering" topic in this forum, this kind of result is obtained  with mastering.

The final step of mastering in fact is the use of limiter.

By limiting each song at the same volume level (brick wall), the level of each song will be identical.

  6. First of all I would change your mike lead with a real mike lead.

Done this, I connect the mike directly to the Steinberg interface.

This is the way to start to record a vocal in a professional way.

You don't tell us how high  you hear your voice in the headphone during recording respect to the others tracks.
