Since I am no longer composing because of bad health (I am 86)

Damn, my sincerest apologies, I made a reply in jest to one of your threads, the one about the PM and posting songs. Please forgive me, very sorry, and very sorry to hear about your health issues. I have my own health issues (56 here), seemingly not as bad as yours, and I can still continue with music, although it is unlikely that I will still be above ground come years end.

All the best to you sir.

    Hm, that's it?

I hope it is only kind of ctrl-c/v mistake not an attempt to multiply artificially the same thing to get bigger numbers.

I don't like such marketing practices.

Unfortunately for instance a good know manufacturer did it with number of amps claimed and 'implemented' .

So instead of switching a channel in amp we need to load another 'amp' which is the same amp but different channel, madness :(  Workflow killer...

But they can 'claim' they have 239 'models' thanks to that trick... Ech...  Marketing/PR guys... Did it really matter for us if there were 'only' 169 but with workflow closer to real thing and switching channels by mouse click (like in older versions as well, sick)?

Talking about OVERLOUD by any chance? ;)

I use to hate that, same amp but to get different channel you had to load another amp instead of just switching channel. Anyway doesn't bother me anymore, I just sold TH2/TH3/TH-U and all my Rig Libraries, there was always something 'off' about the 'TH's' but I kept upgrading etc, in the end they just don't sound as near as good as other options, and the Rig models were ok at first, but even they aren't really that good, there is way better sounding stuff available.

I think it sounds pretty dang good personally. I just wish it worked better in my DAW. I have to open every plugin window in the session before it will work. Also can't monitor through it in studio one using low latency monitoring for some reason.

All works fine here for me with Studio One.  Is the opening every plug window in session before it will work to do with CbB or in Studio One? I don't use CbB, bailed out of SONAR some 4 years ago and now only use Studio One, and have no such issue like that either.

  4. I believe you can still get the upgrade to Win 10 for free. As for your Audio Interface, there is only 1 way to find out :)

Before I upgrade way back that is what was holding me back, I was running Delta 1010's and didn't want to change from PCI interface for fear performance on USB wouldn't be as good, and also thought that they wouldn't be compatible with Win 10, the last and final driver for the 1010's was during Win 7's time in the Sun.

I ended up just doing a HD backup with Acronis TI, and just bit the bullet and done the upgrade to Win 10, zero problems, the Delta 1010's just kept on as usual. Eventually they developed  physical issues like scratchy buttons etc, so I got a Focusrite Clarett 8 Pre USB, turns out my performance worries were unfounded, should have done it years ago.

This is my answer to him:

I have been composing and teaching music theory for seventy years since I was sixteen-years-old

    What say you?

    Larry

    70 + 16 = 86

If I were you I wouldn't worry what anyone said or thought, I would posting as many songs as I could as quick as I could while I was still above ground. ;)

Why not just buy Rapture session? It's a powerful synth once you've learned to master it's oscillators. There's thousands of presets to choose from, and that you can buy.

    Z3ta is another powerful synth.

    Everything sounds big.

Why not? Well try buying one yourself and let us know how you go :)

You've got to be joking. "Everything", you say. Even those that don't exist yet, like drag & drop options, copying settings among FX, or opening instruments in the Console, "are working better" now.

You sound about right on one thing, though. You do sound like a Reason user.  Cause that's pretty much the tone that I'd started to be allergic to, on Reason forums. And they do react to talking about the program as if it was "like insulting someone's mother". It's like their entire identity is hinged around their gear, and their DAW being declared flawless is more important to them than working easily in it, even if afterwards they admit doing the mixing in other DAWs, because of its limitations, etc. That's a sign of emotional issues, more than objective assessment, as far as I can gather. I see you've carried this style of speaking here, too.  And I'm glad to see you stopped here not to make any useful suggestions, but just enough to "assert yourself". Get a life.

Fear not, you will find this place no different, perhaps even worse, the old forums certainly were.

The sale is ending in a couple of hours and I won’t have time to try it out. I was asking, because I could get it for 25$ with my monthly voucher. I already have Guitar Rig 5, Amplitube 4 Max, etc. The sound on videos sounds great, was asking if it brings anything unique to the table.

The email I got 19 hours ago says that the sale is for 48 hours, so you got heaps of time my man.

  9. Grab the demo and check it out.

For me, I did when it was first released, never bought it then, nothing has changed, still not buying it.  But you may like it, hence it's better to try it for yourself than to put to much in other peoples opinions.

    Then whatchu doing here?

What's it to ya?, you got a badge or just writing a book? ;)

:) I think you would be very surprised by how many people who still visit the Cakewalk forums but no longer use SONAR/CbB,  ;)

Some, it's just for the 'social' aspect developed over the years on the old forums, others it's just or the Deals Forum.

So if I want the full th-u then I have to pay the full 200 bucks? Even that says it's an upgrade from th-3. They just don't say if "cakewalk edition" is part of that.

    I could upgrade you for $200US :)

You would get TH2 Full, TH3 Full, TH-U Full plus the following RIG libraries -

    TH-U British Classics,

    TH-U American Classics,

    TH-U Choptones Brit 1987,

    TH-U Choptones Fried BE50D

I pay the transfer fee ($20)

    Let me know.

    SOLD

LOL! A paid shill could not have done better.  Most likely they go to  a studio that has the same gear.  Basically Waves is tryin to erase their bad history just like Pace.   They make great stuff it's just the other nonsense.   I have to buy duplicate licenses to avoid that reason you mentioned, except it's not a proprietary dongle.  I don't have to deal with that using IK, Izotope, or Melda.  It's less complicated.  There's no shortage of reading on the web where people stop using them (not for their quality).   There's a reason why they have become the bargain plugins.

Are you bitflipper in disguise by any chance? an alias perhaps? (Rhetorical, I know the answer)

or just one of those bitter people who can't follow instructions?

Personally I have never had an issue with Waves or Waves Central, it's pretty much a no brainer from where I stand, easy as.

It won't do it "every time" a preset is switched while playing.  The fact it will also do it with Studio One 4.5 Pro (latest version) says its something other than the DAW.

Ozone 9 is the only VST I've found that will do this.  I switch presets often when trying one and have not had the problem with any other VST, just Ozone.  I have Ozone 5, 6 and now 9 installed and have only had the problem with 9, although I rarely use 6 so I can't say if it will do it.

I'll have to hold off testing for a while.  I have a (paid client) CD project I'm working on (more recording today).  I'll wait till after the project is completed.

I can do it until the cows come home in Studio One and no issues, but whatever.
