They don't make em' like him anymore ...

I've never used any synth other than what came with Sonar and free stuff. Same with samples. I've never purchased a sample pack. Always used free stuff I found and what was included in my DAW package. I did the subscription thing with S1 for a while that unlocked all they had to offer. I never used any of it. There were better free sample packs on their Exchange server imo. I've used one of the drum sample packs I got on the Exchange a lot. The best DI for guitar I've ever used is my inexpensive ART mic pre. All other DI's directly in to the audio interface always sound "glassy" and harsh to me. I have their comp and mic pre. I'll chained them together at default settings and I can't tell the difference between that setup and an amp, especially after being processed with guitar rig or other amp sims. A good place to get audio interfaces is Amazon. I got my Presonus interface at a fraction of retail. It was sold as used/refurbished. It came factory sealed. It was literally brand new, or if it was refurbished they did a heck of a job repackaging it.

Do you have a completely different PC you can use to log in from? Maybe a laptop? Use a friend's laptop or PC? Maybe they recognize your Mac address as something suspicious and have it blocked? They'll claim they would never ever do that ... but I speak from experience when I tell you "they" do. And like your case, never tell you why. ??

It really sounds like you've been hacked. It happens a lot. Someone hacked in to my Google account from my DAW. I know exactly where from too and I kept screenshots and IPs and all that. I may persue legal action one day. All they did was read confidential emails, they didn't do anything else. You can go into your Google account and your Fecesbook (lol) account when you regain access and see where people are trying to get in from. People hack in to my forum account regularly. I don't even care anymore. I'm so busy these days I rarely have time for anything but work and sleep. Haven't even touched a guitar in months and months. Maybe that's why I'm so cranky. Oh wait, that's not why ... .... ..... ?

It could be your browser too. If you have cookies blocked or other security stuff enabled. The only time I use Chrome is in situations like this. I use a different browser that has all kinds of tracking stuff blocked, but unfortunately there are times when things just don't work and I am forced to use Chrome with it wide open. IOW I don't block anything they try to do. I've had to do that a few times unfortunately.

The only thing I can think of to do is to put in your login info and select "forgot password" and go through those steps. That's if you haven't been locked out again for a day. Don't do that if you've been locked out again. Hopefully you gave them a real email address and/or your real cell number so they can email and/or text a reset code. Im on facebook but I keep my circle small with people I actually know and spend very little time on it. It is great for keeping in touch with distant family. I do like the local community forums for event listing and marketplace, but that's about all I use it for and almost never post anything.

That sucks. Sorry to hear that. If it's any consolation, it's the worst the first time you get it. I've had it officially 3 times now and it was no more than minor sniffles after the first time. I think I may have had it more times, but now it's just a bit of brain fog and being tired. I pop that Vitamin C supplement called Ester C and it knocks it right out of me. It has something in it to keep the extremely high dose of C in your system longer and seems to help me. Placebo effect maybe. I dunno. I even live with someone who has officially had it more times than I have. The last two times when she had it I never got it. The first time I got it, I was driving to NJ from MO. I got this nasty neck pain and thought I just tweaked my neck. 2 days later I was down and got checked and it turns out that neck pain is one of the symptoms. Never heard of that symptom on the news. @craigb I had the flu once. I wanted to die. I remember my girlfriend held me up at the kitchen sink while I had cold water running on my head to ease the nausea as I was slumped over on a chair with my head in the sink. OMG it was awful. I see how that could be very deadly to an older person and why they worry so much about it with the seasonal flu shots and all. It's wicked.

If you won the Lotto, what would you do with it?

I would buy 20,000 acres in Utah. A stretch that goes from the mountains to the valley. Build a beautiful log cabin in the middle of it. Build another building dedicated to music. Another for my farming and survival equipment. Then, nobody would ever see me again unless I needed a doctor. Maybe family could come once a year. Maybe. As for doing good with the money, yes, after I have it set up to live off investments and the initial amount could never dwindle. I've always dreamed of moving to Utah. It will never happen now though, but if I coild have stuck it with my wife, we planned on retiring there. I've been all over the country and it was by far my favorite place to be. We were passing through one time on a 2 week vacation. We rearranged all our stops in other states and stayed there the whole time and didn't want to leave when it was time to come home. -
I've also read that it's the only planetary/moon type object they have found that does not have a rotation. It's probably just leftover material from when the aliens made The Great Pyramids. <-- I learned that from the guy with the blown back hair on the History Channel.

Pffft. That's nothing ... https://nypost.com/2024/04/30/us-news/murder-suspect-ate-victims-eye-ear-after-killing-him-near-las-vegas-strip/ There's a typo in the article. They listed "eye" twice as eaten. They meant eye and ear. As well as face.

I guess so, I never actually thought about it. But he's not their dad. Their dad passed away and our mom remarried. There was 11 years difference between my dad and mom now that I do the math, but honestly I never thought about it before. So I can see why that seems weird reading my original post. Lol! She had me at 44 ish, so he would have been 33. Give or take a few months here and there. @paulo One of my ancestors founded the village there before it became Buttzville, so the story goes. But yeah, that town is the butt of many jokes. ? I thought I posted this last night but must not have hit thr submit button right. Duh.

I keep seeing reviews for the world's cheapest effects pedal that's only on Temu. Everyone says they love it. I've been thinking of grabbing one just for the heck of it. I actually don't have an effects pedal. Sold them when I settled in to hime recording and have just used vst's ever since.

Ok. Finally have a few minutes. Between working my first job, moving, and running my brothers business while he's recovering from surgery, it's been a tad hectic lately. One day I'm down in a crawl space fixing broken pipes and the next day I'm dressed up working on a copier in an office. Lol. Family is the real reason I moved back to NJ. I was born here, moved away 26 years ago, and have been back almost 2 year to the day actually. May 20th. I still have one brother, one sister, and my dad left. When they are gone I'll probably move again. They're a lot older than me. I turn 53 in a few days, my brother is 64 and my sister is 72. Dad is 86. It was time to come home. I do miss MO and IA though. They are truly great places to live if you don't mind the cold. It's a different cold than here in NJ. Too much humidity from the ocean here. Very dry in the Midwest. I haven't said anything, but I guess everyone can read between the lines. My wife and I parted ways after 25 years. It was a mutual thing and not a bad parting so all is as good as it could be in these situations. But the only reason I came back was because of family. My ultimate destination is Utah. I absolutely love it there. We went there for vacation one time and was only supposed to spend 2 days just passing through. We changed our plans and ended up staying 2 weeks. I'm between Belvidere and Washington now out in a rural area. I took over all the maintainance at a small apartment complex 5 minutes up the road from me. First real job I've had since I retired 12 years ago. Been here for 2 years now. I stumbled onto it literally 3 days after I got back. It was like it was meant to be. I was terrified nobody would hire me at my age and being out of work for so long and boom, after 3 days of being back I was working again. Thanks everyone for the well wishes. It's been a heck of a ride the last 2 years. Quite a change from the comfy life I was used to.

Thanks. I'm really looking forward to it. I still have my Presonus Studio 1810c interface. It's been a great interface for me. Once I got the routing figured out I was really getting in to mastering with hardware. Even with my hardware set to default, it just adds something I like that was easier to achieve than using VST's. I still have some of my gear in storage in MO. I have to make one more trip to pick it up and my larger tools. I have several very expensive large tile saws and a few other large items I didn't want to sell when I left. I'm pretty much dedicated to S1 now until the next generation of CbB comes out. I'll definitely take a look at that. I love S1, but I still can't warm up to the GUI after all this time. For now I'll still be using my old PC, but it worked perfectly for my needs. Iirc it's an i6700k? Well, gotta go make a very large wire transfer. Closing in 1 hour. I'll respond to the why and where questions later. Lol.

I'll finally have my own dedicated studio and music room soon. I close on a house tomorrow back home here in NJ. I'm excited, scared, thrilled, terrified. It was brutal in this housing market, especially here, but I finally found the perfect place. Can't wait to get everything set up again and get back to making music and living ...

Wow. Who would have thought the topic of cheese could bring us all so close together like this. ?

Let's see if this one gets yanked .... I don't remember if I told this story here before or not. Sorry, I'm getting older. Memory going. I was at dunkin' across town one morning getting a coffee. The F. driver was there in front of me ordering breakfast. She was wearing spandex and I happened to notice she had a severe wardrobe malfunction and no undergarments on her back side. I stood there behind her looking up at the ceiling, down at the floor, looking at the guy to the right me who was smiling, at the lady to the left of me shooting daggers at both of us. I contemplated saying something to her but I figured I hadn't better. Might get accused of something and end up in a paddywagon. I got my order before her and was sitting in my truck which was parked right next to her box delivery truck. Hah! Sorry, so she walks by and smiles and climbs up those metal grate steps in to the truck and I'm trying my darndest not to look. Due to the height of the steps, her gape, and amount of spandex tearing and location, you could see everything. I called my fiance and told her and she said I probably did the right thing by not saying anything. I go back across town to our apartment and son of a gun if the delivery girl didn't pull in behind me. I asked my better half to please go say something to her so she did. She comes back and tells me that the driver knew and she didn't care. We just shook our heads and walked away You could see everything, especially when she stepped up in to the truck, and she didn't care. There. Censor Dat! True story.

I decided to mow my lawn so they would see and hear me on the date they were supposed to deliver my guitar, for the 3rd time. At the time I had 5 acres, wide open and no trees except on 2 sides of the property line. I had a giant Kubota deisel tractor that was incredibly loud. I went around to the back of the yard behind the house and cut along the tree lines in one pass. As I was coming up the property line I could see the FedEx truck leaving my driveway. He must have just come in as I was going around the house headed toward the back. This was after I went online and selected 'no signature required. I finished mowing and started looking around for the guitar from Sweets. All that was there was a yellow sticky note on my front door stating signature required and I wasn't home and I had to call their 800 number to schedule a pickup or pick another delivery date. That was the point I snapped and just cancelled the order. A few days later, after I cancelled the order, the FedEx guy rolled up with the guitar and I happened to be there. He was just going to drop it off because by this time they got the no signsture required memo, but didnt get the memo saying not to deliver it. I told him what happened and he just hopped back in his truck with it and took off. I remember I even refused to sign that I declined delivery due to the fact that I had already cancelled the order and he shouldn't even have been there. I didn't want to put my name on anything and accidentally get billed for it and have to fight that too. When I initially ordered the guitar it did show up, but the electronics were defective so I had to return it. So much for the 55 point inspection. It was the deliveries of the replacement guitar that got royally messed up.

I was in a band at a very early age. It consumed my life. Live bands and places to play started to fall apart, at least in my area, around the mid 90's. It felt like being an uninvited guest somewhere and we knew it was coming to an end. Recording satisfied that itch. Over the years I took multi year long breaks from it, but I always came back. I'm in one of those breaks now and I'm getting the itch to get back in to it. I've had several songs get very high on the list for their category on some free streaming services, but I never made a penny on any of it and never took it seriously. I couldn't imagine a time when I say, ok that's it. I'm selling everything. Especially my main guitar I've had for 41 years. I have a similar story to Notes Motown story. A friend ofnmine and I signed a contract to do a soundtrack for a movie for a famous singer from the 50' and 60's. He died in a plane crash in the 80's. They put the cart before the horse and when they approached his estate with the idea, they said no to the documentary, and that was the end of that with the stroke of a lawyers pen. Technology sure can make it more difficult now like kitekrazy said. You can go insane learning it and keeping it running, let alone all the options and ability to manipulate a "real" recording into something perfect. Almost nothing we hear on the radio now is real. I switched back to tape and transferred it to digital to mix and master a while back and that brought back a lot of enjoyment for me. Good luck with whatever you decide.

It has to be the corporate name that has been mentioned is all I can figure, because there was ZERO offensive language in my last 2 replies. I give up. And you'll see why in detail if my replies are ever released.
