  1. R.R. and Fallout 3 don't work on Windows 10 without a 3rd party utility for R.R. and cracking Fallout 3. Fallout New Vegas will but it's difficult. Fallout 3 uses a verification method that is no longer supported. I just don't see how Steam can sell something you can't install. GOG legally disables that in Fallout 3 and provides you with the 3rd party stuff you need to run R.R. and all the other games they sell so you don't have to hack it yourself. I don't like Steam or GOG, but to me GOG is the lesser of two evils because you don't have to be online. I get having to go online to activate something but being forced to download 10's and sometimes 100's of Gig's of data is not right, IMO. I downloaded COD Warzone and it made me get the entire full game. Over 100Gb. After I did it said I could uninstall the retail version and just keep Warzone to save HDD space. Sweet. Thanks Raven.
  2. Nope. Steam did nothing to get it to run. Same with Fallout 3 and New Vegas. You basically get what you would get if you installed them from the original install discs. That's how it was the last time I looked at Steam. Maybe it's changed. GOG does include 3rd party software to make it run but even then Fallout still needs tweaking. GOG's claim to fame is they legitimately sell you versions of games that you do not have to be online to use. It's why I never used Steam in the first place. If you don't have a really good internet connection you're screwed. Only in the last couple months have I gotten high speed (cough cough) internet. The fastest I ever had up until a couple months ago was 3Mb/1.5Mb and I was paying the same for it as my current 30Mb/20Mb which is $130 monthly or $100 per month if I pay a year in advance. Plus I have to supply the router. I just saw a TV ad this morning. $49.99 a month for a Gb fiber connection, if you are in or near the city. If you want to live out in the country now it's going to cost you. It's how they are backdooring that proposition to force people in to city's.
  3. I uninstalled FF when I saw their official statement about people needing to be more than "de-platformed" and calling for more censorship if they don't agree with their (Mozilla's) beliefs. I can't link you to verification due to T.O.S. here, but it's out there if anyone chooses to search for it. So I de-platformed them from my devices. If you choose to use and it works good for you (you as in whoever is reading this) then I'm happy for, more power to you. See the difference in mindsets there.
  4. He's following this thread so it's hard to say what his motivation is for posting. He's either upset and venting and looking for help in a roundabout way or just trying to upset people. I try to take the "you catch more flies with honey than vinegar" approach. If the fly doesn't come then I don't give them the vinegar either and just move along.
  5. Really? Zip ties to hold the horns on? I'm sorry, I just can't take that man seriously.
  6. FWIW I ran a Presonus Firewire Mobile for many years and only stopped using it a couple weeks ago. I've been using a Vantec UGT-FW210 card this whole time and have had no problems that I can recall. It's still available new. If you click the link read the FAQ at the bottom and it will tell you how to install Firewire drivers on Win 8 and 10. It's powered by a connector directly from the power supply which I think helps.
  7. Oh! I thought he was talking 3rd person again. ๐Ÿ˜ฒ
  8. I view them as twin brothers. One Good, one Evil. Everything runs better through Brave on my system. Especially streaming services like YouTube and Twitch. I've only been using Brave a few days now and here's what it's done so far so I'm happy . . . 99% of that is just from Twitch and I don't watch it that much. I can watch a stream for just 20 minutes or so and watch the adblock counter just keep ticking away. Hundreds a night. I really love some of the live music acts and there is one game streamer I really like too. She messes with some of the guys she randomly gets teamed up with in COD and scolds them for swearing and talking dirty. It's more entertaining to watch her for that then the actual game. Good clean fun which is a rarity these days.
  9. If you take a tone generator and find the frequency and play it in just the ear you hear the Tinnitus in you can actually help it and in some cases make it go away completely. I've done this and it has helped. Another thing that happens to me is I'll go deaf in one ear and suddenly hear a really loud ringing. My hearing immediately starts to fade back in while the ringing fades out and it feels like someone is pressing in my middle ear. According to my ENT Dr. they don't know why it happens but it is actually very common. It scares me because I worry one day it will happen and my hearing won't fade back in. It's happened a few times but when I went to bed and got up the next morning everything was back to normal. And it's a very uncomfortable feeling on top of the deafness and ringing. Loud sounds don't trigger it, it can happen any time. It's weird and scary.
  10. Did she ever get back to you on this? ๐Ÿคจ
  11. The vast majority of crashes and instability problems I had went away when I read this advice elsewhere years ago and started following it. The first thing I do now is pick a motherboard then go to the manufacturer's website and do a search for supported ram and cpu's. I always go with non-overclockable set speed RAM and prefer Kingston.
  12. Doesn't do squat for me either. ๐Ÿ˜
  13. That's great! I'm happy for you. It's not an easy thing to do to lose that much and keep it off. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป
  14. I recently tried Cashew milk too. It's a lot heavier than Almond milk. It was good but the Almond seemed sweeter. It also has fewer calories and carbs than Almond milk. Real milk has a lot of cholesterol and carbs and that's bad. Plus the jury is out on calcium intake at a certain age. Some studies find it actually makes bones more brittle after 50. Whole unfortified non-homogenized milk is actually the only truly healthy milk for you and it's more the fat content in it that's good for you than anything else. I don't think you can buy it at the store anymore. But you can still get it at farms directly if you tell them you want it for your kitties. nudge nudge wink wink. I know quite a few people who do just that back home. Everything I've read said diabetics should avoid milk except for whole because studies show there are certain fats in whole that protects against it, obesity, and heart disease but who knows. I can find studies that show it's good and bad. My nephew and one of my uncles died from diabetes and it runs in my family. I'm an anomaly. I was big as a horse and healthy as one too. That is not the norm and I imagine I will pay for letting myself go some day.
  15. Or perhaps some Frampton covers maybe?
  16. You are 100% right. I lost more than most normal 6' tall men weigh and have kept it off over the last 3 years and I'm only getting healthier as I age since I started lightly working out and watching what I eat like a Hawk. No processed carbs (candy, cake, pie) and no grains of any kind. My taste buds changed so much that when I drink unsweetened vanilla flavored almond milk now it's almost too much. But on holidays when I do eat cookies and pies I get high as a kite. It's the strangest darn thing. Plus all my old bad habits come flooding back and it's incredibly hard to get back and stay on track. It was then I realized that I didn't crave these things before because they tasted good, it was how they made me feel, and it put a whole new perspective on it for me. Everything was going awesome up until a large yellow vehicle that hauls young people every morning and afternoon ran a stop sign and almost killed me. Ya never know what's going to get you.
  17. That's still pretty heavy for a poodle.
  18. There's a lot of free stuff out there so it's not a big deal but to lock your "free" offerings to a bit of software that costs a lot of money seems wrong to me. The pro's get the full version for free because the cost get's passed along to their customers and tax write-off's and such. It just seems backwards or perhaps a hidden incentive is involved.

    Icon iKeyboards

The ikeyboard 5x is exactly what I've been looking for and the price is right too. $179 on Amazon. I could get it free because I have a lot of reward points from my credit card for some major appliance purchases I recently had to make that I could only get on Amazon. I'll have to dig around and see if it plays nicely with Studio One. Edit: It does work with Studio One. The ad I was looking at didn't list it but they do on their site. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป (And I see you had it in your OP too. DOH! Getting old. Sorry. ๐Ÿ‘ด๐Ÿป)
  20. It's not really free if I have to spend $400 on the full version of Kontakt to use it. The people who put out "free" samples for Kontakt must get some kind of kickback from NI to do this.
  21. Then explain to me why a new i5 6 core blows my i7 4 core 8 thread out of the water. (I know why. Just trying to be funny.) ๐Ÿ˜ BTW/OT ... Do remember in another thread you were asking about the emoji's suddenly becoming very limited here on the forum? I installed the Brave secure browser today and it's happening to me now too in it but not in Chrome. The Winkey plus semicolon trick works though. So far Brave has blocked 2,600 ad's and cookies and stopped 50MB of data from being sent. And I haven't been on much today at all.
  22. That sucks Bill. Sorry to hear that. Hopefully you can get to Jersey and that salty ocean air will help.
