  1. I'm biased towards it since I make devices and presets for it, but it really is a synth that can do almost anything. Besides the normal synthesis stuff and sampler it also has a lot of physical modeling features that IMHO sound really good. Here is a Taiko drum I made using it.

Also there are new modules planned for things like granular synthesis and spectral synthesis.

Cool tune! Fusion is my favorite genre. Very good playing, I'm jealous.  Those drums must have been a lot of work, I can't imagine.  My only little niggle is the bass seems weak, I think the song would have more impact with a bit more bottom. Great job on this one man.

Its my favorite too. I've been using MDrummer and that made things a bit easier to to program.

I agree about the bass. I think I should have pumped it up a bit more. I remixed this a few time and I was afraid of going around in circles. In retrospect, the bass could have used a few more dB. Thanks.

excellent piece with the lead guitar being outstanding.....was that tapping around the 3:00 mark??  🎸🎼🥁🔊

there is a piece of music you might find interesting on You Tube by a group called Farmer's Market called "Slav to the Rhythm", about 7:14 long...it's pretty much jazz fusion but with heavy lyrical musicality incorporated....the guitars come in around the 4:00 mark cheers!!!!

Thank you. Yes it is tapping. I'll check that music out when I get home. It sounds interesting.

Chandler , Amazing guitar work !  I loved the directions it went with the different change ups. Great drum track as well. I think you can skip practice , and just keep recording and posting. That was an Awesome performance.           mark

Thanks. I'll try to do more songs soon if I have time.

This'd be a good theme song for Oregon Ducks...great phrasing chandler.

I wouldn't mind doing music for sports actually. Those songs are fun. Thank you.

I quite enjoyed that, sounded fine here on the Adam's.

I'm glad it sounds good on other systems. I wish I had some Adam's.

Enjoyed this & the driving fusion vibe. that little clav part reminded me of Coryell's 11th House material, tasty playing too.- great job.

I love that old fusion stuff. I really liked the tune your posted recently too.

    This band is tiiiii-ght.

Sounds very live. Especially the drums, please tell me you had a real human drummer? Sure sounds like it. Mix wise, you might use a little more air or snap on the snare? Like a heavier transient attack on it? Might be worth a thought, or not.

Usually I'm the guy who says "turn the bass guitar up a bit! and I'll stay true to form here. Not a lot. That bass part really drives the song for sure, sounds great!

Guitars were killer, and you don't put a foot wrong with the rhythmic complexity. Loved it.

    cheers,

    -Tom

Thank you. I actually programed the drums. I was debating about what to do with the snare actually. I didn't know if it needed more pop or less. Glad to hear you liked the song.

@Chandler  ya, MAutodynamicEQ was the 1st Melda plug ever bought, initially imagining something like MCharacter with multiband modulation?! looks like MCabinet might have some useful knobs, still a bit of a rabbit hole atm...

Yes, I just thought I'd point out the MCabinet has a dynamic EQ included. You can take any of the frequency bands and make them respond to your signals dynamics.

  5. Sorry I didn't comment sooner. Yes MCabinetMB does come with MCabinet.  As other people have said it is very light on CPU, so you don't have to worry if you're using tons of tracks. You can also blend multiple IRs in a way that doesn't use much more CPU.

If you want to try to add some dynamics, use the dynamic EQ to compress or expand the sound depending on how hard you play. You can also use the "MODs" to do things like change the IR mix depending on how hard you're playing. I'll try to do more videos on this in the future.

    Merry Xmas

    Haha! That's awesome!

Got any tips/tricks you wouldn't mind sharing with us? As Roger pointed out there is very little online about this plugin.  We need a good video tutorial  from @Chandler🙂

No promises, but I'll try to do a video on it. I don't do live drums often, but I think I have some live drum tracks I recorded badly a few years ago on my old computer. I'll see if I can cook up a tutorial.

  7. Thanks everyone. I've been trying to get some music done while things are shut down.

Chandler this is wonderful; right up my alley.  What kind of guitar do you play?

I play  a schecter strat style guitar. Its almost exactly like a strat, but with a thinner neck, humbuckers and 24 frets.

  8. This is a guitar instrumental with a funk fusion flavor. I wanted to do some interesting guitar stuff, but I wanted it to still be listenable. Tell me what you think.

A Perfect example of how build up tension with the ``less is more´´  principle of guitar playing , just great, never once got boring I really liked it , I wish I could do thathalf as good  , I alyways play too much too early ,and too bloody often ..well done .....

Thanks. I have that problem with playing too. I often play too much to soon, so I tried to calm down for this one.

Nice enough track nothing I could hear to add any meaningful suggestion comment, thanks for sharing.

    Thank you for listening.

  10. I've had a lot of free time this year and I decided to try to make the most of it by writing some music. I've always wanted to try to combine guitar and electronic music together, but some of my previous experiments haven't gone so well. Perhaps this is a bit better though. Its all instrumental and I hope you enjoy it.

  11. I bought a M2 about 3 months ago. So far its working really well and the latency is lower than my focusrite 2i4. So far so good. It also has a loopback feature, which is useful for me since I make youtube videos. I liked the focusrite, but IMO the M2 is better.

You should consider doing one on setting up a midi foot controller. The documentation doesn't seem to match the implementation. I got it working thru trial and error.

Also, there are selections for controller under MIDI for Note on/off, Note index, Note index(on), but I don't see anyway to select a given note - 0, 1, 2, 3, and so on. Is there a way to use note on/off to control the vst? Am I missing something?

I already have, I'll release it later today. It isn't too difficult, but some things might be hard to figure out at first. The biggest problem I had was using my FCB1010. That thing is really annoying to program. Once I got the hardware worked out, hooking up to the software was much easier.  Anyway, the video will cover how to hookup a midi controller for use with the record, next, previous, etc buttons. I'll post it here when its released. Here is another video I made with a more musical example.

I'd be happy if their installer gave the option of avoiding 32 bit even though the files are really small.  I didn't have to pay for this it does have MXXX built in.  I'm a Melda fanboy but this doesn't fall in the necessary plugin category.  Don't most DAWs have this function?

It does have all those fx built in, so you can use them without having to buy anything else AFAIK. DAWs can do something similar, but I find it hard to work with and not as fun. I found there was much more stop and go in a DAW.

I just looked and it doesn't come with all the effects. It works like MXXXCore. The effects that you've bough previously are unlocked, but others aren't. Some basic FX are included though. I have to total bundle, so for me it looked like everything was unlocked.

Great video as always @Chandler. And you are right, that video gave me enough info to  get my mind going about what I could do with that thing!

    @User 905133 I always use Melda's VST3 in CbB.

Thanks. I want to do more videos about this that are a little more interesting, but I felt this needed some explanation of how to just open it and get started making music quickly.

  14. This is a tutorial on how to create something like the famous cinematic deep note using MSoundfactory. Of course the technique can be used to create other interesting effects too. Using additive synthesis in a modular environment opens up a lot of new avenues for sound design. I hope you find this interesting and useful.

  15. Thanks everyone. The pops are my PC, not the plugin. The plugins aren't even that CPU heavy, but recording 1080p video takes a lot of CPU and caused drop outs. In a few weeks I'll be getting a new computer, so hopefully that will stop.
