Wow - a new low for Spitfire...
and expensive at that .Yep that price sure isn't low.

I think these are a waste of money. Phrases are like buying loops but put into a sampler.

Then in Feb they will release Acid 12 and expect you to buy the upgrade.
Most Acid upgrades are what most developers call updates.

I dunno, so far the Reaper themes I've tried installed themselves somehow. Just download and double-click the theme file. Reaper opens with the new theme, or alternatively just drag the theme file into the Reaper window.
Which ones did you choose.

I like their bass and compressor. They only thing they ever updated was changing the paint. I thought about getting this for system #3 but I don't care for their licensing. I have yet to discover what I have in Melda and IK.
If I could go back in time when there was some contentment I would file this under the only plugins you would need.

Im 2 stupid to figure out how to install some themes.

The difference is investing in what you'll actually use, or in what will gather virtual dust.
Like I said, that's just my opinionThat's about 90% of everything I have.

I have the Augmented Strings. It's kind of cool. Sampled strings with a funky interface and effects. It seems like a product geared towards cinematic composer customer types. I don't use it that much.
I am sort of on the fence about getting more Arturia stuff but still researching my options as its still early. I judge the value of the product by how often I will use it. The Arturia products are great but it's not like I am sitting at home making intricate retro synth music or exploring how retro synths worked in the past. I have been doing a lot of more songwriting and demos and when I need synths, I just use SampleTank and tweak the presets in all generic interface, that once you learn how to us it -- it works for everything and gets the job done faster. IK have also been on a roll and sampled some really rare hard to find ones that no one seems to have.
I am looking at the Arturia deal and it will be about $170 for me to give to Arturia (which are a great company and make great products) or invest that money into Toontrack which might give me tools I will use more often every day in what I do.
That's the new trend these days along with the modular software.
The only problem eith this Arturia deal is I don't have $99 to spend. Sure the stuff is new versions but the only new thing I get out of it is Augmented voices. I'll wait.

THIS is the answer IMO. Effects and synths are literally a "dime a dozen", but I find myself using my Toontrack products HEAVILY,
so I consider them to be a 'very wise investment"! That's just me...YMMVThe same can be said for the Toontrack keys.
Drum libraries are a dime a dozen. Collecting Toontrack kits can be pricey.

No, they don't. They have their own license manager.
It's bad enough to make you screan for iLok,

Yes they do. Go to you Waves account and select the upgrade you want, then you can get a code to send to Koby over at everyplugin.com and get a great price on it. Better than what Waves will give you.
Nope, There use to be this code that worked and it wasn't about upgrades.

Don't they have a code that reduces it more?

It's not hard to do. I removed all the SampleTank stuff I'm not using.
But... it will be a bit of work if I ever upgrade.
Essentially when you install SampleTank it puts in all the instruments. But that's just links. You have to then install the content so it links to something. But it's not hard to remove the various files from the installation and the content. I moved them over to a backup drive in case I ever wanted them back. It takes a little time to figure it out, but the result for me was a much more useful and less bloated SampleTank. For example, I don't like to have the Syntronik stuff there.
When you add new instruments, it adds the ST links and the content at the same time. So I don't think I'll have issues if I add content, but if I update SampleTank I will have to do everything all over again.
I would like to see a video on how to do this. I could probably figure it out bur is seems like a hassle.

Oh yeah, with just a few kontakt sampled synths I quickly realized that I'm endorsing hard drive manufacturers (I blame Larry)
The only exception I make for Kontakt synths is Hideaway Studios.

I can see that happening. Sometimes the best approach is reaching a limit of what to use.
One the other hand I'm going in the opposite direction and sticking with Kontakt. I don't care for Sine, Spitfire, UVI.
With Spire, Sylenth, and Serum I don't need to buy those synths built with Kontakt.

I still have Pop Rock Strings. KH stopped doing Kontakt Player instruments.

Next step: mod it.
Are you sing the Nexus or their new one.
I decided to do a 2nd play of this game. I still enjoy this one but quite buggy. Combat sucks on this game compared to new Fallouts.

There's a love/hate thing with 8dio. The plus for me is they are Kontakt. I can install these on every machine in the house. Try that with Sine and Spitfire. I can move those Kontakt libraries around and not cause any fits.
Since I don't do this stuff professionally I don't need the boutique sounds.
Orchestra library developers always try to reinvent the wheel by giving a name to a library. I'm waiting for some to release Wal-Mart Strings when they run out of names.

The Humble Bundle deal blows these away. I've gotten away from wav only sample packs. Soundpool has stupid licensing which very few who create loops do.

I have these and don't use them. It seems I'm not alone in that regard.

It's their new stuff that's better. I have their drum synth.
Considering it's AIR, those prices are overpriced for their reputation.

This price is nice while the upgrade price is very good. With Waves upgrades is removes the previous license so you can't install on another machine. The drawback to Waves is one install on a machine unless you create an "improvadongle". Then the WUP will eventually cost more than the upgrade price.
Great plugins ruined by shit licensing. That's why they lure you into their $29 plugins.
Consider
TRacks - use to be 10 machine limit with deauthorizing as well.
Melda you can install them on everything.
Hornet - underrated developer with no fancy authorization or installers.
I really like Waves but their licensing and WUP drives me away in a world with more than enough developers.
The pro Waves users are like Linux users who make the same argument over and over. They fail to see the hassle if one wanted to use Waves on a laptop and going the "inventadongle" route. If you are a hobbyist Waves is not the best to invest.
Funny how when plugin deals we look at is as $3 a plugin but who will really use 88 plugins.
I think for one into minimal plugins you can't beat the Renn or the Musicians Bundles.
