  1. If I were to do a budget AMD build I'd go for integrated graphics.

The issue I had with K7 player is a system still using a Geforce 9800GT. I'm sure its over 10 years old.  I've got my money's worth out of it.

Making GPUs obsolete should be left for game developers.  Too many DAW developers are into the eye candy movement.

And you’ve got to look closely.
There’s an important difference when compared to Waves’ WUP: Bitwig doesn’t stop working when my MacOS changes.
Most of us upgrade Bitwig every two to three years, just like Ableton, Cubase, or Pro Tools and any other DAW (except Logic and Reaper).
And when you upgrade Bitwig, you get another year of free updates. That’s rather a positive than a negative, I’d say.

Despite the Apple monopoly you are the defending the same case for Waves.   You can't really spin that one.   It's a pricey WUP at that.

i gotem. installed onto my little Reason lite setup. Now I only wish there was away I could use Europa in my main DAW. It looks like they only allow that in Reason 12. :(

You musta missed around Reason 10 when they offered Europa was a free VST.

Downloading the free patches was a hassle in their shop.

    Still a lot of money.

Having worked on streamlining my setup and removing stuff I never use, this looks like overkill to me. By the way: Are there contests for the highest plugin count? This would explain a lot.

GAS always uses the formula of it's $ per plugin.   The term no brainer for me is lack of using it when making a purchase.

To me this seems like a deal of desperation from PA. The economy and greater amounts of competition may have something to do with it.

Plus being inconsistent with their deals and changing the voucher terms probably put a lot of people off.

If you have EZD2 then the upgrade is a no-brainer! Buy with confidence.

Without a doubt there are better pianos.
Did I "need" the Upright? Nope.
But, hopefully the $39 goes back into EZK2 development (hope springs eternal...)

Nope from my end.  I have an issue on one system with a corrupt can't fix registry key.  A working demo supports confidence.

    Define "organic synth". ;)

Are you referring to the sound characteristics, or the GUI and workflow? I looked at your list and it covers quite a broad range of what I would consider to be diverse synth categories.

Regarding synth sounds, in my mind "organic" would most likely be a hybrid of synthesis and samples, ideally with those samples taken from real-world environment "found" sounds. Examples like Iris and Biotek come to mind. Secondly, I would consider anything that created atmospheric or cinematic soundscapes, that evoke an "organic" emotional response.

Your comments about Abyss and Novum would also imply a preference for an "organic" workspace, and these would also meet the sound characteristics that are implied by the same. But many of the other synths in you preference list do not seemingly have an "organic" workspace. Maybe I' being too analytical here, LOL! 🤣

Definitely not judging here, as I'm sincerely curious. I have over 100 soft synths myself, with some preferences of mine having changed over the years. Unfortunately I like most of them...

Doesn't that have something to do with the soil they are grown?

If there's one recommendation I get for effects plugins from audio pro friends over and over,  it's to buy FabFilter plugins. But they're certainly not cheap.

I wont only because I'd be like the rest of the users and ditch all of the other developers plugins I wasted money on.

  8. With all of the available pianos and keys from plenty of developers  I won't go any further with the Toontrack stuff.  It's tied to 2 systems where I don't with other developers.   What makes the EZ line great is their playback engine.    If you have Kontakt I'd go with the Sampletekk offerings instead.

I would like it if the released a demo version of EZD 3.

Only five days of offer a year and ensima only 25% for a synthesizer that is still very little updated and not even interested in promoting themselves, they think they are master and lord among plugins like "serum" that do not get off the horse in prices or sticks, obviously wrong company policy that refuse to look at how well they do the competition with respect to updates and annual offers.

Kinda like that Vahalla dude.  They are small developers. What did you expect?

Is this a BF sale for that course only? Normally, Udemy courses have across the board sales where they drop the prices occasionally for everything but I am not seeing that at the moment.

Also, it's coming up as $26.99 Aud for me. Could I ask, what is MPV?

Create a wishlist and they let you know which ones are on sale.

I have picked up several courses at Udemy. Always wait for a sale and read the reviews and watch some free previews of the course first.

The music instructor quality can be variable, and some have diverse accents that may be off-putting to those from some regions. Free course previews are a good way to see if you will "connect" with the instructor's delivery style.

Some instructors are excellent! I like Dr. Jason Allen, PhD, who has produced a prolific number of Udemy courses for topics such as music theory comprehensive, composition, orchestration masterclass, music theory for electronic musicians, and Ableton Live. He is a university music professor and certified Ableton Live trainer, a composer, producer, songwriter, engineer, sound designer, DJ, remix artist, multi-media artist, performer, inventor, and entrepreneur. His music theory curriculum will cover the same material he teaches in his university level music theory program, but for obviously a lot less money! He has written for orchestras, films, TV, video games, and electronic music. And I find his delivery excellent! :)

Jason also has a Musescore class at Udemy on sale for $10.99: https://www.udemy.com/course/musescore-mastering-music-notation-free-software/

Same here.  I finished the Live master class.  He also has an organization of trainers that just isn't for Live. I'm going to go through some FL ones.
