8 Dio sales = the Waves of orchestral sampling.

Eastwest started this long before 8dio,

I don't mind it when it is orchestra libraries.

BTW I did mention it in an 8dio thread in Vi Control that spending over $200 and get a free library takes away the impulse spending. Maybe they listened.

Arturia is one of the "good guys"!!!

Sure, some folks may have gripes, or issues with Arturia upgrades. But bottom line is their products are high quality, and they occasionally give away things for free, and also issue free updates for products that you own.

So "getting it" is more about supporting the "good guys", rather than always wanting to get over on them. Sure, everyone wants a good deal, but hopefully the "good guys" will stay in business for a long time, with our support!

    Their licensing is great.

Anyone know why download is saying 219GB download? Site says 70GB for Total Bundle (7 libraries), but Pulse Downloader is telling me 219GB. Holy cow. Maybe they threw some Orchestral Tools libraries in for free. :)

They are wav files and not the compressed Kontakt files.  I don't know if batch conversion would ruin this library.

My understanding is it should behind the scenes, but I haven't tried it in many months.

It doesn't seem so.  I got a better result using Melodyne as an fx and saving as a midi. The other way misses.

  5. Was a fan until now, not alone

ATI 2020 went beyond disc image and started this security suite stuff.  It monitors software.  I never could figure out my Live 10,11 would take a long time to start on one system. It was this Acronis mess.

I've always had good luck with Acronis but now they've shunned the home user being a sub.

All of the Waves plugins I bought are a regret.

I picked up some vocal pack (never used these things before) on some deal site like VST Buzz.  The problem was it wasn't the pack I thought it was as another deal site was offering something from the same company.  Therefore I ended up buying what I thought I was buying at the other deal site the pack I accidently bought is simply a regret as I'll never use it.

So far Melodyne has been a waste of money.  The Audio -> Midi doesn't work like I expected it to for polyphonic sources and the tempo mapping function via ARA and Cakewalk gave me a bunch of headaches.

I had a project made in Sonar 2 and Gigastudio many years ago.  I seem to have lost all of the midi files.  It seems Bandlab doesn't use Melodyne when you drag audio into a midi track,

I can relate. I brought 4 last year and only used it a little bit. Not that I don't like it, just limited time for all this great software. My brain is getting slower as I move into the Fall Season of my life.

Products sell better when they are loaded with info on how to use it right away.

Plus I don't like their delivery system and trying to retrieve links.

    🤣  LOL

Well I won't be getting those

What often happens on some forums is people will PM you if you want to sell certain items because you don't use them. Somehow they think I will give it away.   It annoys me to no end because you have something they think you want to sell it.  It ticks me off to no end.

One person PM's me thinking I would sell my Cubase license for $85.

I've had people do this with my vehicle and certain instruments.   I want to go into a tirade like do you see a f'ing for sale sign on it? Now I tell them they can't afford it.

When did people think because you have something you would be interested in selling it?  That's why there are garage sales, Craiglist. ect.  F'off and search places that sell things.

  9. Finale upgrade - rarely use notation software and will be my last version

Wave platinum upgrade -  Ok it was $40. It gives you another opportunity to see which of your DAWs are the slowest at plugin scanning.

Fanatical Producer Loop bundle - Forgot the point of my 3 days of clearing out loops was to reduce disk space. A dog returns to its vomit. I'm always a sucker for these type of deals.  Cheap and plentiful next failure is when ADSR will continue their lottsa loops for less.

Nothing like a sack of 10 sliders.  My wife will tell you that, for reasons other than my own.  The REAL test of one's Chicago mettle is whether or not there's a bottle of Malort in your cupboard.

I was never into the Chicago mentality.   I find it funny the sports writers think the Bears are some glorious franchise because of George Halas.

  11. Those of us who moved west still find the food from IL much better.  Plenty of small towns have some great eats.   I never worshiped  Giordanos the way some people do.   I grew up in a town of 4000 and there was this generation of Italians that made pizza.  I missed that pizza.  There was a pizza maker from IL who moved out here and it tastes just it.  If you are a type 2 diabetic pizza is off the list.  The difference is that these pizza makers have about 3 to 1 ratio of toppings to crust.  I can eat this pizza and not have high blood sugar.

We also miss the small town of Utica that has a great winery.  My mom always has some shipped.

Aldis has made it our here.  I miss White Castle.  It's sacreligious to buy those frozen ones.  They are opening one in Scottsdale. I don't get that move.  Budget hamburgers in the Beverly Hills of AZ.  Really?

     I miss Slotkowski Polish Sausage.

Hard liquor is affordable out here.

Okay, I'll go with on this tangent! I did once contemplate a job in AZ and I have a nephew who lives there. I have been there a few times on business. But I don't love the weather. Definitely too hot and dry for me. Where in the midwest?  I would imagine that would be a HUGE adjustment. At least it would be for me. Places I'd love to move  -- anywhere in New Zealand, Vancover or San Diego.

    It was IL.

I can relate to both. We have Comcast, which is the fastest internet service in our area but often unreliable. I don't necessarily hate the snow, but I hate when the temperatures get at 20 degrees or below. Still, I'm not ready for Florida. I'll take San Diego weather. However, I live in Chicago.

Live in the AZ desert. I use to cal them Concast.   One thing  I had hopes going from the Midwest to the West was not always having a dirty windshield.  It's worse out here. Dust is as annoying as snow except it's year round.

The true meaning of Black Friday hit me last night...it is the weaponization of FOMO.

And because we're all friends here, I feel comfortable confiding in you without shame that I, the cynic, the skeptic, the experienced user totally fell for it. The ability to spend money late at night under the influence of cannabis wasn't selected for during 4 million years of human evolution.

I saw a Kontakt library that I've wanted for a long time, saw that it was on sale, and bought it. Stupid! Stupid! Stupid! Long story short: the library is mundane, duplicates stuff I already have, and sounds like a ROMpler from 1986. The sale price was triple what I would have paid for it had I been able to try it out first.

Next year, I will be wiser. Yeh, that's the ticket. Next year I won't fall for it again.

    Which one i s that?

Woke up at the usual time...but internet was down...
Just now came back on...we got our first snow of the season.

    BTW...I HATE SNOW!

That would be a blessing except for the snow.  Plus you would also know what software you have that tracks you onine.
