it's times like these that those of us in the UK mourn the loss of Time and Space (the online shop, not the metaphysical entities!)
it was a great way to use/earn those loyalty points.
Agreed, but doesn't Best Services have loyalty points of a sort as well?

I'm saying that history -- and Troels' 8Dio history -- leads me to anticipate future sales promotions of some sort. Why? Eventually sales will slow and they'll want to motivate consumers to make a purchase in a short time frame for a variety of reasons, including paying the bills. Promotions are one of the ways a retailer can drive revenue on their schedule. I write that as a strategist who has, a long time ago, was called on by Troels. I think the trendy anti sales strategy he's now employing is never going to be a serious long term strategy for almost any retail business.
For the group of consumers who complain when they see a sale after they make a purchase, I would suggest therapy. Dead serious, it's ridiculous and neurotic. Yes, everyone has bought something that later went on sale for less. It's not a big deal for an adult and doing a business strategy around those consumers is worse than silly because they're eventually going to do promotions which will irritate those customers. Guaranteed. Let's check back in a year.
I can see that, and honestly, I wouldn't be all that surprised to see them backpedal on offering deals. 8dio is one of the "dealsiest" vendors I know and it's hard to believe they'll hold this stance forever.
The difference, I think, is they have a bunch of libraries they've sampled for 8dio they're now converting over to Soundpaint. I would think the biggest cost associated would be time spent. That, plus the fact they're not paying kontakt licensing fees on these products, makes me think they could very well stick to their guns. They still have sales available through 8dio, so that might be enough to scratch their sales itch.

I would get this if it went on sale. But Troel's says SoundPaint libraries will never go on sale. Anyone want to bet how long that will be the case?
Does that mean you think the library is worth less than $50? I understand the appeal of looking for deals (I mean I am here, after all) but I have to say this no pressure, no FOMO approach has been nice for me.

I stopped following the Soundpaint news, but if I recall correctly, they notify eligible owners automatically. If you were missed, support will fix you up. I also heard that there was a short window on the upgrade eligibility. Hopefully they did away with that.
If I remember correctly, the code they give you has a limited time frame where it works, but you can reach out after it expires at any time and they'll generate a new code for you. Haven't had to do it myself, so apologies if I'm giving bad info.

I swear the title read Burned Nipple Gongs. Either that or I need more coffee.

They should stick with what they do. Like who needs another synth.
Me. I do. I love me some synths.

The standard edition is 23 something GB. I have yet to see a good comparison to determine if the UDS versions are worth the extra money/ hard drive space.

I was looking at the bundle couple weeks ago and was around $360. Looked again this week and jumped to $630. Have no idea how it went up so quickly. Don’t think they’ve released that many new libraries but maybe I’m wrong. Doesn’t seem they account for the couple libraries I already purchased. Anyone else seeing same?
The total bundle is pretty much just the cost of all the available titles at the time. There more for convenience than savings.
If they don't detour from their current stance in the future, the prices are fixed and won't ever go on sale. The deals-seeker in me doesn't know what to make of it but it's been nice knowing I can put off picking up what I don't immediately need, without fear of missing out.

Ever see a deal so good you think, "That's a no-brainer!" Then when your brain actually does kick in, you realize you bought it awhile ago?

Mixcraft was my go-to DAW before recently switching to Studio One. Still some things I like better about Mixcraft and I've kept it installed for when I want to jump in and do some quick sketches.

Maybe that $94 was supposed to be $49....THAT would be a deal...not this
I'd definitely bite at $49. $94 is a miss for me.

I'm a little confused by this one because it was $99.99 in The Shop yesterday when I checked, since all of The Shop instruments are base priced right now. My math skills are a little rusty, but doesn't that mean the "lightning deal" is only $4.99 off?

Upgraded the acoustic bundle (in other words, getting the new Dry Relic Guitar), for $63.00! That was pretty cool. Although it said the sale didn't apply to the Dry Relic, it certainly did to the upgrade of the bundle, so how about that loophole?
Same here. My upgrade for Dry Relic is temptingly low, and that's even before I calculate in my orange slices.

Yeah, me too. When someone says "gem" it raises my expectations. Then again, when the gem is given to me for free, it lowers it right back down, so no complaints. 😉
I'm a gamer, so I'm used to Trophies/Achievements popping up when I fulfill certain requirements. I was expecting the hidden gems to act like that and kind of wish they did. As it is now, it would be like getting your trophies for installing your game. 😅
Really though, that's just the way my brain works. I'm perfectly happy with how it's implemented now.

Man, they are rolling out the instruments quickly. I haven't even really had a chance to investigate this very much. Now the total bundle is up to $450, but I see there are still quite a few more "coming soon" instruments, so I might just wait and see what the full collection will go for, if they get it before the end of year I'll get the whole slew, since I need to spend a bit more $$$ this year for tax purposes. Anyone have a review of some of the more recent additions to this library or the whole thing?
If it makes a difference, the whole collection price is only discounted by $10, and they've vowed to never put them on sale. Provided they stick by that, it allows you to buy what you need and what most piques your interest at your own pace.
*Edited a word.

Cool @Simeon Amburgey! Just what I was hoping for. Do you happen to know the price?
Haven't seen a price mentioned yet but they did say there would be a discount for those who own the 8dio library.

I'm loving these weekly rollouts. Even though I know the never on sale thing has rubbed some the wrong way, I enjoy having new instruments to look forward to without feeling pressured to buy them immediately.

The addition of Free Angels unlocked my first few Hidden Gems.
It did for me, too. I'm actually a little disappointed with the hidden gems, though it has more to do with my expectations than anything. I thought they would be unlocked by stumbling across certain combinations of instruments. I've been loading and morphing different combos trying to get them to unlock. Was a little bummed you just have to load a new purchase.
That being said, Free Angels works beautifully with that piano. I've been able to get some real fun sounds out of it.

I still don't know what the heck soundpaint it. 😞
As stated, it's their sample engine. The engine itself, a piano and later today, another library are all free to download and check out. It has an interesting features that allows you to morph characteristics of one instrument to another, so basically every library you get not only gives you new sounds to play with, it also opens up sonic possibilities with existing libraries.
Not a shill for them or anything. I've just been having a lot of fun playing around with it.

@Steve Madden Has there been any talk of Soundpaint putting out an upright piano in the near future? I'd love to see that.
I haven't seen one specifically announced but I imagine they will. I believe Troels said they have almost 100 nearly ready to launch and plan to put out new libraries every week. It's only been a short time but so far, they've come through.

The Soundpaint discord mentioned this would be coming to that platform free this week. I'm excited to see how it morphs with the other instruments.

I've been curious what happens if you buy individual instruments then decide to get the whole set. Any discount or would it be full price?

I jumped on it in case it is the wrong price. The sale went through without any issues.

I want to agree with you but also, it's been 8 years since I released my last book. Time just has a way of slipping by.
