  1. Hi Larry , you are such a clever fella, I like all of your stuff ...... its just so good , I wrote a song with just piano , drums , bass, orchestra   and a vocal , as I´m in no way a pianist it was  O.K  but didnt fullfill its potential  , the strings were  just the same chords as the piano and didnt weave in and out of the melody as they should .so listening to you  gives lots of ideas on how I can improve .cheers paul DB

  2. Thanks Tom , I  tried  adding a second  vocal and then mixed in a vocorder (3rd) type thing ..it souned like donald duck on helium  ..I´m just getting to grips with all the features on bandlad  ( learning by doing ) so I hope the next song wll be an improvement upuntill now Ive struggled with the technical side of things  so i´m now taking my time  , my problem is,  after writting and recording a song I tend to rush the mixdown stage

  3. Hey guy`s I`m really pleased to hear that you liked the tone of my  ``homemade Tele´´ , I´m still stugling a bit with the string height but the neck is just super  I used a wood stain and then a 5 -6 coats of clear silk finnish laquer , just soo smooth .. and noo it belongs to eddie .... Ed........ cheers paul DB

  4. Yep I like this one,  great vocals , and the harmonies really hit the spot , with the melody weaving through the whole song  , inspiring..

  5. Thanks Nigel , I think I did the riff with the tele  solo on my mexican strat...... Now Mink DeVille I remeber them from way back , they had a hit with..... ..i cant remember the name but we sang long with it a lot , now that`s  going to nag me for ages   ``something swing `´´??? I´ll have to google it up  cheers paul DB

  6. Hi Douglas . yeah I self built a kit telecaster  and installed two tonerider pick -ups and I really love it , I wrote ``eddies t-shirt ´´ with it here´s part one of two.      not bad for  €200 ,00  cheers Paul DB

  7. Thanks Tom ,   I really do  appreciate all the response I get here on this forum last year I posted songs on music groups on FC and absolutely nothing, not even something snotty which I dont mind at all , Ive also posted stuff here in Austria and once again ``nicht`s´´ mind you the competion here is rather hard I just heard that   `` puppet on a string´´ by Sandie shaw just stormed the charts at number  24.... . I dont have a problem to look at myself in the miror and take stock, when  I get in a music block or in a rutt,  its then time to  start jamming with drum tracks with different rythums with my trusted homemade Tele , my mexican Strat , and japanese Ibanez . And do some honest playing  working up a sweat getting down and dirty (sounds rather American that) a super riff will allways rear its ugly head ,  play, jamm and inspire that´s my motto , once again thanks for the encouraging comments Tom regards Paul DB

  8. Yeah maybe late seventies , the production and tone quality isnt too good either , it was one of those quickie songs , I certanly didnt push the musical barriers on this one or on any of my songscome to that , they tend to lean to a  pretty standard structure ...... I´m just soo eager to please ..... i think its time maybe to take a break for a while I´m really starting to repeat myself (musically).... maybe I´m getting  lazy .. I really do appreciate the  critism and feedback, a million times beter indifference and silence                cheers paul DB

  9. Hi this is a guitar riff based song  , of late I´ve been using the keyboard to write and  I find my self repeating myself  due to lack of musicall ability on said keyboard  , so i´m happy to have this one  to present ,

This is one I co wrote with a friend , pushed it down the list to redo, lost it in a crash and forgot about it.  I woke myself up this morning singing it. I found a copy of it on an old flash drive , ran it thru ozone and now surrendering it. Pretty sloppy but here it is.  I wanted to wait until my last song was off the page  but I feel compelled to post it now. I guess this cold front has made me feel like going further south.     mark      " Link Removed "   New link posted further down page.

The whole thing was really slick ...loved the whole feel .. I could listen to it for ages and allways find something different in there ..nice

  12. Thanks Bjorn and Dan for the encouraging comments , On the usual music web sites I hardly ever got any response at all good or bad  ..so since installing bandlab and being a member on this forum things have really changed , once again thanks for taking the time to respond cheers Paul DB

  13. Loved the whole thang , I kept waiting for a chord change that didnt come and I´m so pleased it didnt (just shows how I´m pre-progammed verse chorus verse etc )I loved the southern, modern country, dare I say Doobie  feel , cow bell in the mix and shakers gave it a great groove ...guitars bloody great ....write some more of these please ..top man cheers
