Oh that’s great info, thank you. Yeah I watched the walk through and it sounds very nice but also very specific. I don’t really own many string libraries so I’m still tempted but fear it will gather dust as too niche

If you want an intimate string sound (but also capable of more). Then look at Ben Osterhouse - Sospiro Strings. It has individual NKI for full ensemble, individual NKI for Bass, Cello. Viola, Violin. Highly regarded (universally excellent reviews) and a crazy price (£31 at PB). And NI have approached him to work with them. So will be going places.

I own Vintage Keys so can get Olufar Arnalds Evolutions for £50, is it worth it? ANy opinions as to the library?

Here's a quote from forum member AMBi on VI-C :

"OA Evolutions is solid but *extremely* specific, more so than any Spitfire library I’ve come across.
Some of the Evolutions are too unwieldy, and unpredictable in both volume and tuning to be usable in most applications as you would with other texture libraries but I guess that’s one of the things that makes it special compared to those. The intimacy compared to Chamber Evos can be nice too.

I’ve had it for most of the year and I can only me see myself using it in a track or two before retiring it personally.

Also I don’t know why but Spitfire’s cellos tend to be the weakest aspect of some of their libraries and the same I feel is true here. The viola evos are the highlight though!"

So I was in the same position (It's OA - It's Spitfire - It's an EVO!)) But have decided, not this year!

  3. Have to agree. I'm pleased the OA Evolutions is in. But that is the only thing (and it's 5 years old). Would have preferred The Chamber Evos like Fleer. I have enough electric pianos as it is. And also have BBC Discover. So will have to think what my 100 could get me elsewhere. EG Elements by the Ethera people, and something from Heavocity for the same price.

  4. Yes. Same for me. But if it was someone who was going to them for the first time. And based on the price they saw on screen. They would have to cough up more. Loot started showing without VAT a few weeks ago. And there seems to be no mention of the tax on the site till you either purchase or log in. Prior to this the price you saw was what you paid.  Which was fair.

    Cheaper here: https://www.lootaudio.com/category/kontakt-instruments/ben-osterhouse

    But don't buy the Collection £19.49 + £19.49 + £19.49 < £62.98 (buy the separates if interested)

You have to watch out at Loot Audio. They have started showing prices without VAT added recently. So if in the UK/EU you have to add (for example in th UK 20%). Which makes it more expensive. I've bought many things from them in the past. But this is just a trick to make them look cheaper in price to the unwary.

  6. Pleased to hear that the coupon works. As I waited on the last one as PB very soon after the release of the last one had it at a lower than launch price. Plus picked up a PB freebie. I do feel RA have been treading water with the last 2-3 releases. But I have everything........so.......must ........complete........

  7.  Spitfire's The Ton. Skipped last year. If there is anything LCO, EVO-like or Olufar. Then game on.  May also expand my Heavyocity beyond the Intimate Textures I have. And keep a close eye on T&S. Hoping for some surprises.

I wouldn't know. The download is still hosed up in my account. Deleted the first attempt due to corruption, now the download will not restart.

Got the app and plugin installed, but no piano! Will try again tomorrow, if no luck then, will try support.

abacab - are you trying on a mac? As there are issues just for the mac with installation of the piano. They are working on a fix. There is a solution on VI-Control.

  9. Has anyone got this yet? I was sent the link by them last friday and d/loaded it along with the piano last weekend. It seems to have great potential. And prices look good.

  10. I was self-employed as a picture framer for many years. And a guy walked in one day asking if I could frame some artwork  for him . Turned out to be ALL the original album artwork by Storm for Pink Floyd. Had them in my possesion for a week. But in those days technology was simple .So could not take copies. It was terrifying. As the slightest damage would have been disaster.

  11. This is great. However I checked the terms on the new site last night. And British Drama Toolkit was excluded. Great, as I wanted Contemporary Drama Toolkit to go with my BDT. I go to the Spitfire site, place my order for CDT. It's excluded. Checking out the site again. BDT has been changed to CDT. Oh well. However could be a clue to The Ton on BF. As BDT was on it a couple of years ago. Perhaps it CDT time this year ?.

For anyone else with the monies. This 50% is a great offer.
