I’m in when it hits ~$20.
t
you know it will…
Probably not on its own but averaging prices in the next group buy it probably would be effectively less than that.

I don't think they let you do that anymore. I'm not sure if they let you sell your serials either.

Had similar thoughts. Not into the harsh tonality of an MS-20 myself, what with its filter as a freebie. But I do quite like the SQ80. And the Augmented Vocals. And the newly separated Prophets. And the incredible CS-80. And …
I have been finding I like the SQ-80 more than I thought I would. I also am finding a lot of potential in the Synclavier. I've had this for a couple of months and feel like I haven't even scratched the surface.

I don't understand Arturia's pricing philosophy! V Collection is so cheap compared to the single synths, but if you don't need most of them, it makes no sense to purchase the whole collection.
They gave me the FX collection for $49 for BF, because I owned some of the freebies they gave away for Christmas. All I wanted was the Fragments granulizer, which goes for $99. And I also got the V Collection at $199 because I upgraded their string product from the holiday giveaway version.

I kept waiting for someone to mention Manfred Mann (who's cover made it famous).
I always preferred his cover of "For You"

One potentially important thing people may not have noticed is that with version 4.2 Battery no longer supports import of 3rd party formats such as soundfont, drumagog, mpc etc. REX is an exception.
If you need these you can either roll back to 4.1.5 or keep Battery 3 around if you have it.

It just adds macOS Ventura compatibility and some minor graphical improvements when building instruments.

4. PA plugins are heavily overpriced outside the promotions.
The regular price for their emulation of the Boss DS-1 is $50. I can get the real thing for $40 on Reverb or $50 new when Guitar Center has a sale.

Somehow I managed to get a coupon in my cart for Mesa Boogie 2 which brought it down to $14.99 (but no additional jam points) so perhaps check that before going to JRR.

Witcher III is a pretty good game and with the included expansions that's a lot of content for $10.

It's more or less a couple of test tones with some amp and filter envelopes and a cool interface.

I think they are optimistic thinking they can get $15 for it at the regular price.

I listened to the demo video and did not like what that did for the EP at all. I might download it though because it might sound interesting on some other instruments.

See my quiz on "desert island" FX.
I wrote out my list, then looked at it, all 15 of them, and asked myself why I have 20X that many. Yeah, some of those are one-of-a-kind sound design-y things from the likes of Glitchmachines, Freakshow Industries, and Unfiltered Audio, but the list in my "compressors" category is huge.
Same here, although I don't think I've ever bought a compressor outside a bundle. Sonar comes with Blue Tubes bundle, cool! Joined IKM group buy to get Amplitube products, may as well go with TRacks components! Oh look, Komplete has kompressors too! Cheaper to buy the bundle from Arturia than the one FX I want, guess I have even more compressors than I will actually use. I'm pretty much the same way with EQs for the same reasons.
-
Yeah but with Cakewalk there's the question of what is stock? Do the plugins that were stock in SONAR count or just what is available in CBB? OK so I take SONAR but can I use the plugins that were there from earlier versions but not in the final one?
-
Multi-effect: Guitar Rig. This is feels like a cheat because it has the three SoftTube compressors, Mod Pack, Crush Pack, bunch of reverbs etc.
Delay: MTurboDelay. Like Starship Krupa said, this covers more than you would expect a delay to.
WTF MFX: Molekular
Amp Sim: Amplitube 5
Convolution Reverb: ReMatrix
One Stop Mastering: Lurssen
Trance Gate: MRhythmizer
LoFi: RC-20
I'm not committing to compressors because I have a boatload and usually don't get far enough into a track to be concerned with mixing.
I'm not committing to algorithmic reverbs because I just got the Arturia FX pack and Intensity could be a contender, but MTurboReverb is pretty good too.

It sounds pretty cool and it's free, so I'm in!
I had clicked the button at NI's site several hours ago and then several minutes ago and still no sign of Hypha in Native Access. I did catch NI's message that it can take up to 24 hours to show up in Native Access, Just an FYI for anyone else waiting for the freebie to show up.8 hours so far for me.
I'm not surprised it will take up to 24 hours to show up. It took me a few tries before it would download the K7 player.

possibly not, depending on your DAW - the latest Cubase/Nuendo version (plus latest VST3 SDK!) means that you can replace missing plugins with equivalent ones. I think Kontakt is the first one to take advantage of it and reports of it working well.
Reaper is supposed to offer same functionality as well. Unfortunately my preferred hosts are Cakewalk and Bitwig and neither support that.
-
Either way you still get the problem of having to update all your track templates every time they come out with a new version of Kontakt.

I didn’t gel with Ableton, always found it a bit ‘bland’. So I was quite happy when Bitwig was launched and I immediately jumped, as if they succeeded making a sexy version of Live. Even visited them during the Frankfurt MusikMesse when they were presenting their first version. Remained loyal ever since, as they’ve been adding incredible stuff with every upgrade. It really feels as if it’s a DAW-like instrument. It’s the DAW I actually “play”, Another very creative one is Tracktion’s Waveform. But my main DAW still is MainStage/Logic (while I love to dabble with Reason 12, but for god’s sake, make it Apple Silicon native, you silly Propellerheads).
Ableton always put me off as well. Bitwig seems a bit closer to Project 5 to me, so I use it on occasion.
However, there are a few things in Bitwig that are just completely unintuitive and not in the manual. Tap Tempo is a great example.
