Re downloading .cwp files from the cloud...
John replied to Adam Salomon's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
You may need to do a search using Windows Explorer. You may need only one file name to find all of them. Once you find the files then you can point the project to where they reside. I hope you are using the latest Win 10 version! -
is this possible to look at one track while recording another

I should ask what DAW are you using? Is it Sonar or Cakewalk? -

What we want to know is what is it you are recording? That is, is it audio or MIDI? Also what track or view do you want to see while recording. -
Try using the Synth Rack. I'm not a fan of instrument tracks. I like my MIDI independent and separate.

And thank you for letting us know what you are doing. Very interesting. -

How are you recording? What are you recording? My first thought is thats easy but after reading your post I'm not sure. Hence the questions. -
No need to apologize. You are giving the best information you have. It is what any of us do our best to do.
-
Sorry but I do have wi-fi as well as bluetooth both on and operating. I can't see a problem with them. I believe if you have an up to date motherboard and CPU one shouldn't have any problems with them.
-
If you have a relatively up to date machine with a recent CPU, really all one needs to do is set the windows power options to performance especially on a desktop machine.

I agree with using winRar Chuck. Heck I was thinking he may want to use zip because its built into windows. Rar is a better choice though. I bought the program because I use so much. -

You don't have to do that. As I said use per-project folders in preferences and save the folder. This will save the project plus the audio and any other files Cakewalk creates. In your case its a simple copy to the cloud. -

It sounds as if you just copied the projects to the cloud. You may need to copy the entire directory to the cloud. This would include the audio folder as well as the project. This is if you are using per project folders. -
I don't think you need any tutorials on it at all. That track is outstanding. If that is you singing, what a great voice. I wouldn't do a thing to any of it. This should be in the songs forum.
-
No. I left it on my drive because I didn't want to have to reinstall any of the plugins. I would not do that now though because one can install the plugins without having to install the program.
-
I am still unsure of a cause. Thank you for your added information. Are there any error messages? And is it that things just stop?
-
Some system specs would be very helpful. How much memory do you have? What OS are you using? Which version of Cakewalk? Any other system specs may also help.
-
Not really. I no longer use Sonar. I prefer Cakewalk!
-
This forum is about learning. The topic is fine and the dialog we have here is just as fine. There is no reason for you to feel sorry.
-
If you are talking about Cakewalk's Console View no you can't. The audio has already been recorded to disk before it hits the Console. This is one reason in the manual says you have to control volume for input at the source.
-
BTW there is an arpeggiator on every MIDI track in Cakewalk.
-
The way I install Cakewalk is install it via Bandlab assistant then when that is done I go to Sonar 8 on DVD and install Pantheon only. Off hand I forget if there is anything else to install from any of the X1 through X3 versions. I do not install anything else from that version Sonar 8. Then I look up Sonar Platinum and install all the Pro Channel modules from it and then go to each install for the various PC modules I bought. I may install all the VSTs that come with Sonar Platinum. However most of them are part of the Cakewalk install. Its time consuming but it does not have to be done in one go. You can install add-ons at any time. All my downloads I want to keep are on a download HD independent from the C:\ drive.
-
I've been using multiple drives for years. On a DAW it can be very useful. An example is programs go to the C:\ drive. Samples go to a HD for samples. Downloads are on another drive. Also projects are on still another drive. Right now I have 8 drives 6 are internal. None are SSDs. That may change sometime soon.

That is interesting. I have to admit because I use dual monitors that was never a problem for me. By the way the Inspector can be minimized. It also is useful for the Pro Channel. If you do MIDI it is vital. The idea of the Skylight GUI was to make single monitor systems such as laptops better to use and get around in. It threw me because Cubase does have 3 mixers. To my knowledge no other DAW does.

Are you asking what you should keep and what you can delete or not install?
