I’ve got to admit, whenever I’m hankering for some new cool plugin with new fangled features.....I look in my Ozone 9 and Neutron 3....and it’s almost always  already there.:)

If I’m thinking about getting one all-rounder, which is the best UJAM bass?

I see this is on sale for 39.99. If I already have the 354e (multiband), is there any reason to get the 254?

Yeah, some of these software “student” editions have pretty broad definitions. I recall eg, that the Microsoft Office  student version had a very inclusive one.

So it’s looking to me, since I have jampoints to get it down to 70, this may be barely worth it to me. Given that I’m on the fence , do you guys think there is any added advantage to having  “MAX” for future upgrade or deals purposes?

As others have said, there is some good stuff in there, the Jet City, Z's to name 2, and some of the old stuff I find good, the American Vintage B (and it's mates) can sound pretty good with the Fulltone OCD in front, shut the Cab section down, quality 3rd party Cab IR, and tricked up a bit before and after Amplitube for example. But that's just to my ears, yours may tell a different story.

The Leslies are not in this pack?

Nope, not on mine. Probably because I have Studio version. I think it’s only Essentials that gives you the update. Annoying  since they are giving away the same new functions to Essentials that they are charging the Studio owners $150 for. Even more annoying because they wipe out the Essentials license when you upgrade to Studio.

The Notation stuff is nice, but for what I do nothing else really excites me. Can easily wait for the Black Friday  upgrade sale for it (and Melodyne 5).

With so many good consoles out there these days, the allure of Mixbus has waned for me.

The “full circle” phrase is interesting. I’ve been with S1 since Version 1. While it had a lot fewer features back then, it was probably the most intuitive program (audio or not) that I had ever used. As it has acquired more features , it has (perhaps inevitably) lost some of that intuitiveness. A drastically new GUI on the way? A new more intuitive way of approaching the entire process? I guess we’ll see.
