  1. Seems to be a common theme. It's amazing how well those old memories stick with you. Seems like just yesterday when I was a little kid, amazed by my father playing piano. Even though it was ages ago, now.
  2. Thanks for listening and taking the time to comment!
  3. Cool. The video complements that music really well. Nice job!
  4. Loved it. Bass sounds incredible, and I particularly like the lead bit that comes in at around 1:20. Very nice.
  5. Well done. Guitar sounds great, and I love the storytelling of the lyrics.
  6. Thanks so much! I love your comment, because it reminds me of listening to my father play piano when I was young. He only knew a few songs, but he loved to play them and it was my soundtrack when I was kid.
  7. I really like the composition, but with the fiddle so far out front, it's really exposed, making it obvious it's a synth. Maybe layer it with another VST? I remember watching an interesting video (maybe from Spitfire) about adding fast volume variations to strings to make them sound more realistic. That might work well here as well
  8. Really well done. Guitar tone sounds great! And props to the Hammond/piano player, and drummer. They really complemented your playing.
  9. Very impressive production.
  10. Love that opening chord! Grabs you from the very beginning. I also really enjoyed the part that starts at around 1:40. Made me feel like I was in the middle of a Resident Evil game, just waiting for the jump scare to hit. Well done! Jeff
  11. I don't know how much my suggestions are worth, but I'm happy to give them if it helps 🤣 I took another couple listens, and here's some additional thoughts, for whatever they are worth. All the instruments seems to be basically in the same register. The long electric notes, the electric piano, even the snare and percussion seem to be mostly sitting at the same pitch, so even though they are panned, they're fighting for attention. Also, as a piano player, the trills in the electric piano that hit at about 1:20 and again later sound overly programmed to me. If so, a little bit of timing variation, accenting the 4th note, and quieting the notes in between will help immensely. You might want to interrupt them with some nicely chosen chord stabs, rather than carrying them on for so long. Jeff
  12. Thanks! I appreciate the listen and taking time to comment.
  13. I sat down to try and write a straight boogie, but it turns out I get bored easily, and didn't take long before I started straying from a strict 1-4-5. The piano is the Grandeur, from Native Instruments. I used the Deep Grandeur preset, added in just a touch of parallel compression and little bit of EQ to clean up some of the mud. Other than that, I mostly left it alone to do it's thing.
  14. I appreciate the comment about the chord voicing. That something I've been working, so it's really nice to hear you say that.
  15. Thanks so much! Not a single gig. I play out with a band every now and then, but mostly prefer noodling around at home for my own entertainmnet Jeff
  16. Beautiful. I love the tone of the the Yamaha.
  17. Cool song, and the vocals sound good. For me the overall timing is a little rocky. I'm not sure if it's the drums that are off (do you 'play' them or program them) or if it's a more general issue. Some of the guitar licks don't seem to line up with the vocals. It's a good start. Tighten things up and I thnk you'll be on the right track!
  18. That was fun.. Thanks for posting. I agree with others that the bass could use a boost.
  19. I have no words. That was cool as hell. Everything was perfect to my ears, and it had one hell of a groove. You, sir, are a master.
  20. I'm not sure what ambient pop music is But I liked this. Put me in a nice mellow mood. Well done!
  21. Really love that opening guitar, and the lyrics are great. There's a lot of different parts going at once. Occasionally, it felt like maybe you would benefit by paring things back a little. Great song overall. Well done.
  22. I really enjoyed that. Sounds ready for the radio to me!
