I closed the project and shut the computer down. Next day I worked on the same mix with zero pops or clicks? Weird things computers...
-
I have experienced pops in other projects, but usually increasing the buffer clears it up.

I have a mix going with my ASIO buffers set at the highest they can go. I froze my amp sims and consolidate plugs wherever I can, still getting popping. Anything else I can try?
I have an RME PCIE soundcard, 32 gigs of RAM.
- Superior drummer 3 ( Set to use all 4 cores of processor)
- EZ Bass
- Softube 1959 Marshall (2 instances)
- Reaxis sim (1 Instance)
- 8 vocal tracks (2 lead, 6 backups) I run Slate VMR on the buss so I only have to use 1 instance for most.
Various plugs such as saturation, reverb, Microshift.
Thanks.

All set, Studio is the flagship. Found a video on you tube explaining the different versions.

Is Melodyne "Studio" the flagship version?
thanks 🙂

Yeah, added as an added feature. Be nice to switch back and forth, that way everyone's needs are met 😉

Doesn't look that great, just a single string. Would like to have it filled in like Pro tools has, so much cleaner. Maybe that could be an added feature in a future update?

How do I bounce to clips a track that I have done some timing edits with using audio snap?
I fixed some timing issues, now I want to save those fixes by bouncing to clips, how do I do that? If I right click with audio snap on it doesn't give me any bounce options?

That's cool, thank you!!

Is there a feature in Sonar that will randomize the velocity of your midi notes to make it sound more human?
-
Found using the built in pattern / grid editor in Superior drummer works good and places the correct patterns in. So I just changed the way I work.

I wanted to try out the Softube Marshall plug. i downloaded the trial, installed and can see the dll file in the vst folder. I scan the folder for new plugs and and it pops up with an activation window. Well, I don't have a code, it's a trial good for 20 days, so I cancel out of that window.
I open a new project in Sonar and try to add it in the FX bin but it's not there. I downloaded multiple times, downloaded and installed the beta Softube installer app thing as well. The app says its there and has 20 days left on the trial?
Nothing in ilok at all, doesn't even show up. I contacted support but all they did was tell me how to install.
Any suggestions??

Like other pre-BandLab instruments, where sounds and files are stored is pretty arbitrary. If you moved your sounds somewhere to save space, or moved any of the folders SD3 wants to reference, or messed with the file structure in any way, you'll probably lose things.
I ended up moving all my SD3 content over to a separate drive, and added an mklink where Cakewalk looks for the sounds.
I will look into that. I have a seperate drive for samples and SD3. Thanks

There is an option to rebuild the MIDI database under Settings->Advanced. Might want to start with that.
I already did try that and it did not work, thanks

Are you using the MIDI to drive a different drum VSTi? There is a possibility drums in a pattern may be using alternative articulations mapped to different keys and not supported by the other VSTi.
I am not, only using one midi file to play sounds in SD3 only. When I get home tonight I will try to shoot a video of what's happening. Thanks for all the help on this!

This is what I do:
Insert soft synth > Superior drummer 3
Open the gui for SD3 and select a midi pattern
Drag the midi pattern from the SD3 gui into the Sonar track that contains SD3
If I play the pattern through SD3's gui, it plays all instruments. If i drag the midi file into Sonar and hit play in sonar, the toms are missing.
Like I said, I have been doing it this way for many, many years and have never experienced this issue before?

When I drag a midi pattern from Superior drummer 3 into the Cakewalk track it is missing elements of the pattern.
For example; There is a pattern with kick, toms & hats. When I play the pattern in SD3 all the drums are sounding, when I drag the pattern into cakewalk and play it, the toms are missing?
I know you can select which drums are dragged into the DAW, I assure you I do not have any individual drums selected. Is this a glitch in Cakewalk? First time this has ever happened to me and I have owned Cakewalk since version 6.

Cool, thank you!

The midi for the drums is within superior drummer, I don't think it allows freezing as there is nothing in the actual track.
