On a side note, it could be a plugin doing this.  Try without any plugins enabled (illuminate the “FX” on the Mix Module)

Also, you don't mention the type of drive your Audio data is on (Spindle 5600 RPM / 7200 RPM / SSD)

I have no idea what this means?

What is "illuminate FX on the Mix Module"?

When you say "what type of drive my audio data is on, are you referring to the hard drive?  If so, it is a Western Digital WD6003FZBX-00K5WB0 6TB internal HDD 7200 RPM 256MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s

  2. All of a sudden in one project I am working on when it gets to just about the end of the song Cakewalk stops with the following message:

    1152421975_dropout.JPG.f6373af05782760ab476e98ce0fb9ee9.JPG

I looked up what message 5 is and it says either the disc is fragmented (which it is not as I just defragged prior to working on this project) or to increase the buffer size in Audio / Sync and Caching / Playback I/O Buffer Size (KB).  The I/O buffer size is set to 256 I assume by default.  I increased it to 356 but the same thing happens!  What size should the be?  Why is this suddenly happening as it has not prior at all while working on the project?

    Thanks

  3. Since having to rebuild my computer and re-install Bandlab Cakewalk a number of the built in FXs no longer show a list of presets.  For example:

Sonitus Compressor only shows the following:

    421573802_Compressor-nopresets.JPG.a99d712f1a5d683391138f519df66422.JPG

However, on my backup machine with Bandlab Cakewalk installed, Sonitus Compressor shows the following presets:

    compressor.JPG.0513456c87a8f2f3495565f13baeb3f3.JPG

Another example is Sonitus EQ only shows the following presets.  However there is a whole list of presets in the same FX on my backup machine:

    960779791_EQ-nopresets.JPG.42fe7afad8c8405c5f46730361755fe2.JPG

    How do I fix this?

    Thanks

If all your plugins are showing up, disable the automatic scan-on-startup. There's no need for it until you next install a new VST.

What's probably happening is that one of your plugins isn't initializing during the scan, and may be what's raising the access violation. There is a debugging feature in the scanner that can help you zero in on which plugin is having the problem.

Press "P" to open the Preferences window and scroll down to VST Settings. Under "Scan Options", select "Manual Scan" from the dropdown list. That'll prevent the automatic scan. Check the box labeled "Generate Scan Log". Click the "Reset" button, then click "Scan".

After the scan completes, the debug log will be in %appdata%\cakewalk\logs. You can open it in Notepad. Feel free to post its contents here if you can't make sense of it.

Ok, I followed your suggestion.  I've included the VstScan.log here.  There were a number of pop up windows about missing things when I ran RESET.  I wrote them all down and believe I fixed the issue.  However, after running a VST scan again and then opening my project it still crashes with the following.1721657122_CrashDump.JPG.07e23b408f2d676110d06e16dc4620e2.JPG

I have a deadline that I need to finish this project today.  Any more help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

  6. A while back I asked a question about recommendations for  EQing a bass track.  Someone stated that I should start with the ProChannel.  Someone else chimed in with a link to ProChannel Presets that no longer come with Cakewalk which I downloaded and installed to Cakewalk.  I can no longer find that post with the link to the extra ProChannel presets.  Does anyone have these?

    Thanks

  7. I'm not sure where you are getting this.  I explained clearly in my post that I am using a Digital Audio Interface.  I am using a Presonus Audiobox USB96 with all of my DAWs.   As also clearly stated, the issue I am experiencing and showed above just started happening after I needed to flatten and re-setup my computer due to a virus.  After, re-installing Bandlab Cakewalk after the OS rebuild, this message started popping up whenever I open and try to use Cakewalk even though Cakewalk is configured to use the Presonus Audiobox USB96....not the onboard High Definition Audio Device.Capture.JPG.c73fd8fd8037c9ab7a2ff1f1a5a97ff2.JPG

  8. Still not sure what you are referring to.  The issue is with the High Definition Audio Device which is my internal computer sound card.  Again, I did not have to do this before I had to re-install the OS and BLC.  So, other than the computer speakers plugged into the sound card there are no other cables.  Also don't know what port you would be referring to. So, I'm confused.

  9. Not clear which cables you are referring to or what port as well?   However, I just confirmed that if I disable the High Definition Audio Device in Device Manager the issue goes away.  But what a drag to have to disable it each time I work on a project and then re-enable it after in order to hear my computer audio.  I never have had to do that before.
