    Update Failed

    Something went wrong.

Please Download and Install BandLab Assistant manually.

Ugh.  I won't bother.   BTW I had no issue on the other machine.  Maybe they should bring back command center.

    I got the same message

There was a link in the word "download". I clicked on that and it installed from there. So it was only one extra click. Painless.

  2. Width of a measure is determined by the note values contained in that measure. You would not want a measure with a whole note (semibreve) to take up the same space as a measure full of 64th notes(hemidemisemiquavers).

  3. As I understand it, whether or not to check "UseMMCSS" depends on your audio interface. The documentation for my Antelope Orion 32+ suggests turning it off in the DAW as it is being handled by the Antelope driver. I had better performance after turning it off in CbB.

However I don't think that is the OP issue.

Crackling audio is usually is caused by too small of a buffer. Many people have reported being able to use smaller buffers with Reaper. I have auditioned Reaper and while I like the program well enough, I did not find it to perform any better than CbB. However Cakewalk works very well on my system, so YMMV.

    As far as this goes...

My audio engine just stops.  Then I have to:

    1.  Close CW
    2.  Go to Task Manager and end task, since CW will not fully close by itself
    3.  Delete AUD.ini and TTSSEQ.ini
    4.  Launch CW
    5.  Reconfigure audio and MIDI I/O

When I was in the business, I used Sonar all day long with many plug-ins and GigaStudio running on a much less powerful machine than I have now.

I have no idea what's causing the instabilities.  I hope there's a solution.  I've only been using CW for a couple days and the crashes or sudden loss of audio engine happen several times an hour.

You should probably start a new thread.  Deleting those two .ini files is not something you should have to do repeatedly. More info will be needed.

You can also use an acoustic body resonance IR to simulate an acoustic (from magnetic pickups) for live use.

Can be done with Axe-FX, Helix, HeadRush, etc.

It's not going to replace a great mic'd acoustic, but for live playing... it sounds close enough.

Being able to switch immediately from acoustic to a distorted/crunch is super convenient.

I've been looking real hard at the HeadRush. I think you may have just pushed me over the edge.

  5. The Thunderbolt (2) to Firewire (800) is available for $34.89 at Staples. I've had one for several years. I used it to connect my Saffire Pro 24 to the integrated  Thunderbolt port in my Asus motherboard. It worked great in Win 8.1 as well as Win 10.

I have since acquired an Antelope Audio Orion 32+ which works fine with their new Thunderbolt for Windows driver. I currently choose to use the USB driver because it allows multiple apps while the Thunderbolt driver only allows one app at a time.
