  1. I haven't read this whole but get the gist (I believe) from reading just the last few pages.  With all due respect to Reid (who's posts I enjoy/support) and all the members in both camps, though this sub forum falls under the General Discussion, it really doesn't make sense for these posts to be in the deals forum when there are places like Production Techniques and The Coffee Shop threads regardless of which has the highest traffic.

The problem I see is that for the moderators to be fair, equal treatment should be given to all users.  To that extent, where is the line drawn?  Obviously, what is allowed for one should be allowed for all?

Yes, interesting point. it seems that Hal Leonard owns both groove3 and sheetmusicplus

Makes sense.  I've used SMP many times and it is legit obviously.

No, we all received the same March voucher code.

Now I feel violated!  What kind of Loyalty are they appreciating with a generic code?  Anyone have a generic $75 code to share?  I'd sure like that new Sculpt plug!  😅

  4. Sucks for those that regularly use Accusonus products (I just never jelled with them).  But, refreshing to be able to actually get rid of plugins rather than only acquiring them - no-brainer cleanse.

  5. I missed out on getting Cubase during the Gibson debacle and have always been irritated with SB's non-response to inquiries about providing some (if even minimal) discount for current SB customers to purchase Cubase.  I have long-had WaveLab Pro, Absolute, & SpectaLayers.  Only Crickets.  I'd still like to have it (if only gas) but have a hard time justifying the crossgrade price of $369.99 with the DAWs I have and money I don't have.

Good deal for NewBlueFX.  Note that I already had NewBlueFX Transitions installed, and the new NewBlueFX install broke it.

Just curious what NBFX Transitions you had/purchased?  TotalFX comes with Transitions 5 Ultimate and wonder if these just replaced the ones you had or if there were none available or you had some missing which you noticed.

So if getting this for the TotalFX, wouldn't it be a better deal to just buy a 12-month subscription to Movie Studio Platinum? That's $48 and also comes with TotalFX. Maybe someone can confirm that the TotalFX licence would be (still) be permanent in this case?

Perhaps for some but personally I think $11 more is worth it for the perpetual license and no guesswork involved for TFX.

    I'm confused.

Of course, typical Magix confusing and vague magic fashion!  This may or may not help but here is an enlightening post from last year at MovieStudioZen.  Movie Studio Platinum (made in Germany) is not part of the Vegas line (made in the US).

Also:  Movie Edit Pro version Comparisons (part of the Magix line); There is actually a Vegas Edit also (see Vegas version Comparisons); Movie Studio 2022 version Comparisons (part of the Vegas line).

So there’s no reason right now to buy the Suite? My understanding is that the only extra in Suite is included in Total FX?

Correct me if I'm wrong but TotalFX is not included in Vegas Edit or Vegas Pro (Suite) at the moment.  It is only with Movie Studio Platinum and tomorrow is the last day.

@Tezza, correct!  I had asked the aforementioned Derek and was told "Yes! NBFX uses the OFX protocol, which means they will all work in DaVinci Resolve and any other program that supports OFX.  In the past, different versions of Vegas would often come packaged with a "sample pack" of NBFX, that sometimes were locked to only work in the program they were sold with. Boris FX was the main company that does this. However, this time around there is no catch. I have tested it myself and NBFX Total FX works 100% OK in all of the following: DaVinci Resolve, Vegas Pro 19, Vegas Pro 18, Vegas Pro 17 and Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 17."

Would be nice to know whether the NewBlue stuff in this deal is tied to use with Magix Vegas/Movie Studio though before buying.

Z, seems like they work fine.  I'm not proficient in DaVinci but was able to see/insert these NBFX.

  11. Great deal even if you don't have/use Movie Studio Platinum.  This is the full NewBlue TotalFX package (he says $1495 but it is $699 perpetual license).  Derek at MovieStudioZen talks about it HERE.  While he has tested it and says it will work in the previous versions of Movie Studio Platinum and ALSO Vegas Pro, I wonder if it works in other packages or tied to Magix like some previous offers.

    $49 - Upgrade from a previous version
    $69 - New purchase

Very confused how you do this....no matter what i do it is in my cart for $4.44. Where and how do you change this to zero? When you say close out do you mean remove from my cart and try again?

I clicked the link in the OP.  Typed "0" in the "Enter your price:" box then clicked on the "Add to Cart" button.  A popup box opened asking about adding another product - choose "no thanks" or just click the X at the top right of the box.  This takes you to the cart where you put your info in - it should show $0 due as below.

Works every time here (Microsoft Edge).

These are made by Waves not by Solid State Logic themselves.

Good catch!  I'll blame it on Pre-Coffee lol

However, I was just looking at my own Waves alternatives (I have these) and wondering about the differences, if any, since they have the SSL "stamp of approval"?

EDIT: here is one such review comparison at ProducerHive on the SSL Native Essential plugins.  Concerning the channel strip: "This one is fairly easy for me. Having used the Waves E-Channel, the Brainworx SSL4000-E, and the SSL Native Channel Strip. I can safely that I prefer the SSL Native Channel Strip for most of the stuff I’m mixing."

  14. Wow, and for the first time ever one of my three SB plugins now shows up under the "My products download" tab i.e. WaveLab!  Absolute 4 and SpectralLayers Pro 8 do not show.

Correct me if I'm wrong or haven't done something to make this work but this has been just a glaring shortcoming of this app IMHO.
